Brrrrrrrrr its cold. If you didn't know that it really is. Lol. If you have had surgery it is really cold and if you havent just wait. Joe said he cant believe that I get so cold so easy anymore. He is use to me saying that Im hot. He said he guessed I would have to finally buy a winter coat. I have never owned one. Well I take that back I do have one in the closet that has been there for probably 15 years that by next year will fit me again. Lol I have always just worn windbreakers. Never needed anything else. But Im already cold enough at times that the windbreakers are needed now so don't know what I will do when it really gets cold. My brother was suppose to come down and help us to get started on the green house yesterday and he didn't come. So now it is waiting on him again. I don't know why he keeps dragging his feet. Today we have to go get the oil changed on the truck and get the tires rotated too. Also got to stop by the Alltel store and get a new phone. Contract is up and need a new one anyway. Mine has been acting up lately a lot. I didn't know this but when you have a lot of numbers stored into your phone the main stores can put your old phone onto a computer like deal and transfer all of your numbers from the old one to the new phone. They charge you 10.00 for doing it but it would be worth it I think. I have all of my phone book of everyone I know in mine. Even have business numbers that I call often. Doctors, beauty shop, dentist, eye doctor, orthopedist, etc. plus things like lowes, hardware well I think you get the idea. And would take me a couple three hours to redo them all. Sherr: hope you got all of your pictures hung yesterday. Just take it easy for a few more days. Your body will tell you when it is ready to do certain things. The only left side pain I had was around the old stomach area . I figured it was where they had cut part of it off and sewn it or something. You may have to run to the local thrift shop and find you some fat girl clothing. don't want to spend lots of money on that now. Since you wont be wearing them long. Colette: that is what I mean about nursing . You don't hear of a lot of young girls going into the field today like you use to. I think they are really going to have to revamp the way they treat nurses before a lot of younger girls are going to want to make it their lives work. Yes the pay is better than a lot of things but still isn't nearly enough for the hours and hard work you do. And there not much security in it. I think it should have a retirement plan that can follow you to what ever nursing job you have and where. Like teachers an firemen. If they change schools or fire stations they continue with their retirement .and most nurses have no health insurance unless they buy it themselves. It should be a given that they have complete coverage I think no matter what or where. They give their life to healing and then cant afford to go see a doctor themselves . Well enough of my soapbox about that. Two very touchy subjects with me . Would love to have been on the nursing board to try and get those two laws passed. Andrew: Yeah I would rather take a beating than have to move again. We have been where we are now for 3 years and when we moved here I told my hubby unless someone offers us an awfully lot of money for this place and I mean a LOT we wont be moving again. I have learned in life not to ever say Never about anything but ----hate moving. Everyone needs to clean things out once in awhile like they are going to move tho I guess. Lol So you are a reality show junkie too huh? Me too. I watch them all and if one overlaps the other one I tape one of them so I can watch it later. And like tonight is survivor . We are going to be gone today and I don't know what time we will get home I will tape it so just in case. Lol Take it easy putting things away. That is a big job. Vesta: Weight loss surgery is quite an adventure and doesn't matter what your age is. They are doing some studies about we older women and weight loss surgery and it is proving that we don't have anymore problems that the young girls have , no more or no less but said that we are more compliant with the eating part it seems. Maybe it is because we know that this is our last chance. I feel that way. So anyway welcome to the older ladies club . There are a few of us here on the Missouri board. Melissa: you are really going to think someone left the freezer door open this morning. Hope you had a nice engagement anniversary day. So how long have you all been married? On the syrups are you using these in the vanilla ice cream flavor of protein shake? Does it seem to taste like yogurt to you? My taster is really off seems like lately. That is like water , no matter where I get it or what kind I buy it take like bleach . And the only flavor that I can seem to stand in it is crystal light peach tea. Yeah Joe said he could get use to drinking the protein shakes too. I told him that would be ok since it sure wouldn't hurt him any. And might cut down on his wanting to snack on sweets. Tressia: I know what you mean about some of the younger generation. I had one like that until I told her flat out NO MORE. I know it isn't easy but no one took care of us did they you? I had to make it on my own. That is ok about your bmi being high there have been a lot of people that theirs was that high and you will just lose weight so fast after surgery. How much does your doctor want you to lose before surgery? Oh I went to the web site and found your husbands art . Very good. He is talented isn't he? Oh yeah now I know where your town is. I was born and raised in Fredericktown. Lived there until I graduated and moved and then my mom and dad moved to Ark after I graduated. So the next time I came home it was to Arkansas. I have only been back to visit Fredericktown about 5 times since high school. Alan: So how do you like the protein drink from wal-mart. Is it good and how many grams of protein does it have? don't know what dr. Hodges in Springfield says you have to have a day , my doctor says 90 grams a day. That isn't easy to get without the protein shakes cause you can hardly eat that much of regular food. I use mine twice a day and that give me 60 so then all I need to get from food is 30 but that is hard for me too do sometimes. Hope you hear from your insurance company really soon. Are they known to approve the surgery? Like Claudette said I to was on Medicare and it only took a week for approval. Good luck. Atonio: hope all is well with your family and you. Get well friend. Hello to all the new people that have been posting lately. Like Melissa told Theresa don't ever feel like you cant ask a question on here. After all none of us knew anything about any of this stuff until someone else told us. So if there is anything that myself or someone else can tell you that is the main reason for this board. We all become friends on here yes, but that is an extra bonus of the board. The main purpose is to help people in their walk toward surgery and in their daily life after surgery. There is no question to big or too small and if we don't know the answer we will help you research it. Or point you toward the way. Or hound you to see your doctor. Lol Well tell tomorrow , don't get too cold , just remember those 104 degree days not too long ago. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

Just thought I would give a reminder to everyone. With the cold weather chili is a good choice for us as long as it is not too fatty. It warms us up and has lots of good protien and few bad carbs. I ate chili very early on. If you are out shopping chili from Wendys or Steak and Shake is a good choice for a meal. I made a big pot yesterday for me and my wife at home. Hope everyone is ok.

Good Morning Everyone: As cold as it is here I wanted to get up this morning and say Ho Ho Ho. lol I half expected that jolly, chubby dude in a red suit to be sitten in my living room. But you can tell that is it cold weather coming. I was sitten at the computer this morning and could hear the school band practiseing. They walk by the house as they practise and DH & I always love to go out and watch them. I think that one of the best thing I love about a praide (sp) is the bands. Jan: Terry & I have been married 7 yrs it will be 8 yrs on Valentines day next year. I understand what you mean for the first 3 to 4 months nothing I drank or ate tasted the same. But then one day it was like my taste buds came back. Andrew: I will put both shows on one tape. No dont worry I have plenty of tapes. I just hope you enjoy the shows. By the way who is your favorite on Biggest Loser?? Of course mine is Marty from K.C., MO and Amy both off the blue team. Craig: Glad you found out what was going on with your eyes. Sherr: You better rest today before you big day on Friday. Atonio: How are you and your famioly feeling?? Alan: It is nice to see that you have removed yourself perminatley from under the rock. I think it's good that we have more gentlemen joining the board. I am sure David, Craig & Andrew were going kind of bored with all of us ladies on here. lol Well okay its time to brave the weather. I am going to go sit outside for my morning drink. I got all my house plants repotted yesterday. I ended up repotting around 12 plants and breaking apart the bigger ones. My back is so sore from bending over those plants. But it is done and now they are all safe in the house. Today when we go over to my F-I-L's house were taken the Amarillo's and putting his and ours under his house for the winter. Okay much to do today in order to get ready to leave Friday morning for my parents house. I will post in the morning but wont post after that until Monday morning sometime. Have a wonderful day!!! God Bless Melissa
