Good Morning Missouri Friends. Well I officially did it yesterday. I walked twice around the block within 10 minutes. Then came back and did my 30 minute exercise tape. And then I pulled weeds and dead flowers out of the flower garden and then we picked up rocks and made some more pathways. Whew! I was tired and sore . I took a whirlpool bath and then Joe rubbed me down with Bio-freeze which really helped. If no one has ever used that you can get it online or from a chiropractor. Good stuff for sore and hurting muscles or for a hurting back etc. We have got 12 yards of gravel to get spread in our walkways that we are making and that is more back breaking work but we just do 3 or 4 wheel barrows full at a time and then take a break and do something else. Joes brother Carl, is suppose to come up this week end , we will see. Lol He says he is coming up and then never does. Debbie: I prayed and prayed for your hubby yesterday. So glad that David is doing well from the surgery. I knew God heard us. Thank you Jesus. How are you doing...have you found a pschycologist to do your testing yet? Like I said Medicare will pay for it . You just have to find one that will accept Medicare. Claudette: anxious to meet you and some of the other ladies that I don't know. Im sure you will do a very good job of leading the support group. Is any of the other people on here that go to the support group at St. Johns also going to go this meeting? I myself don't think you can get too much support. Colette: The pig roast sounds really good. Yummy I got a lot of good reports on what to do with constipation. Will start with the oatmeal daily first since it isn't a drug. I have tried fibers and they don't work for me or for too many people that don't drink enough. They will just cause more problems if you don't. Barbara T:Tell your grandson that Im sure that God will bless him greatly thru out his life and as long as he does Gods work he will prosper. No they didn't tell me to drink grape and apple juice daily. But I like both of them so will also get those to add with my oatmeal lol don't know how I will get all of this down . I usually only have a protein shake for breakfast and then water until supper and then a small amount of food usually about a ½ cup total. Maybe all of this is why Im not losing faster but I cant seem to get any more down. But continue to try. Im very seldom hungry. And I don't have any problems feeling full. Usually about after ¼ cup of something I am full. But if I wait about 10 minutes I can eat the other ¼ cup. Is that good or bad. Melissa: ouch . I know how those teeth do hurt. I had to have all of mine pulled when I was in my late 20s Back then there wasn't much they could do about them other than pull them. Sure wish I could have saved them like they do now days but had no choice then. Sherr: Your not old enough to have old-timers yet so quit forgetting stuff. Or we will think you might have storied to us about your age. Lol Take care of yourself honey. And rest. You will start feeling better and better soon. Jean: thanks for your information about the colace. I will get some in case the oatmeal doesn't work. I know that all I would really have to do is drink a small glass of regular milk each day and I would go everyday but would also have severe stomach cramps. Lol Huera: Before surgery I drank water like it was going out of style and loved it . Now it about gags me unless I put something in it. I have tried all sorts of generic mixes and cant stand any of them except crystal lite peach tea. But I don't always have it. Even with that It is hard to get in enough because you cant gulp or take even large drinks even. It is about ½ oz and no bigger with a good pause in between. It just gets to be such a hassle especially when you are working all around the yard like I do. Maybe I need to get some sort of carrier that I can hang around my waist lol Glenda: No I don't think we have met either but never sure because at the meeting at st johns is so formal you don't get to meet a lot of people. So Im anxious to meet you too. Lia: how is your life and what is happening? Have you and your mother moved or are you still in that area? Have you contacted the wls office in St. Louis. Lana: you going to the meeting on the 9th and the 23rd? I was wondering how many others that go on the 9th will try and get there on the 23rd too. I think they will be enough different that we will enjoy them both. Tami: I was just telling my husband that I think I need to start getting more of my protein in thru reg food but it is hard to get enough in . So yeah I am going to go try the oatmeal daily and the will add the other stuff if needed. I am still working on enough water. I know it isn't enough. I just get so full so easily. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

Hey Jan and Everyone I'm up late or up early which ever it may be , the service was absolutely beautiful and thanks Jan for your words of wisdom for my grandson. Now about you, maybe you are not putting in enough, when I wasn't eating enough because I was really protecting my pouch I had this problem too and my son told me I wasn't eating enough and also in our manuals it tells you to eat up to six times a day, so try and schedule some times to eat just a little more maybe that might help. I drink apple juice to mix my meds that I have to take still and I use the grape juice just to take away the dryness in my mouth sometimes. I eat but it's small amounts, Dr. Hornbostel told me on the 7th I can start eating anything I want and believe me I'm nervous I have never had a problem finding something to eat and now I am not sure what to eat Anyway Jan try and see if any of this will help you, guess I go to bed now it has been quite an evening. Have a great day today, God bless you! Barbara T.

Good Friday Morning Jan & All: I am at it early this morning, youngest daughter and grandsons come home from Concordia for a visit last evening. The boys arent' great with sleeping elsewhere than home. Needless to say, not a good night sleep. But all worth it. Sure looks like you have all the vim and vigor of a youngster Jan. Can't wait till I have all the extra energy after surgery. I am beginning to get really excited or nervous one? Cause I don't seem to rest well at all anyway. OH I jut received my notes etc from the Dr.'s Office for all the pre op directions. Does anyone know anything about the Optifast products and maybe where I can aquire them. I have to start my liquid diet on the 19th of Oct. Maye there is something else if anyone has any suggestions. After all the object is to loose weight prior on a liquid diet I suppose I could use any other brand. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Just reading everything you are doing in your gardens Jan excites me, can't wait till I am able to get out and get my yard going next spring. I haven't been able to get out and work in the yard at all since we moved here. New home plain yard not a good combination. Hope everyong has a wonderful Friday, and if I don't get online, have a GREAT WEEKEND TOO. Your Friend Tressia....

Hey, Missouri OH buddies, A beautiful fall day again today. I love it. I feel so blessed to live in South Missouri. We went up to Springfield last night and saw "The Rock and the Rabbi". It was a sort of musical/drama about Jesus and Peter. Awesome!!! Of course I was moved to tears, that's the good part always. We got there for the Broadway series every year, usually four musicals. I enjoy them so much. We have nothing exciting planned for the weekend. WOOHOO!!! I want to rest up. I have decided to go up to North Missouri and see DD and grandson in two or three weeks. They'll run me ragged. Jan: I plan to go to both the meetings this month and then probably decide which more meets my needs. I hate to give up on the St. John's one since that's where I'll have my surgery, but I tend to enjoy a little more free-flowing format so I'll see. Remember when I started all this and six months seemed so far away. Now I've got four done and only until the middle of December to go. It's coming up fast and I'm so thrilled. You are all doing so well losing. It is awesome to have all of you supporting me and each other. That's what our faith is all about. Uplifting and loving others. Hugs and love Lana

Happy Friday, my WLS Family.... I went to the doctor, and did not have any staples to remove, and the drain was a breeze! I have never talked about my weight until today...so here goes... I started w/ Mo Bariatrics on 7/09 and weighed 278 When I went to Surgery last Friday 9/29 I weighed 258 Today I weigh 252....I lost 6 pounds this week.... If I could lose 50 more, I'd be quite happy, and hope to do way better than that! I feel soooo much better after having my drain out, I can not tell you xoxo S

Hello everyone, Glad to read about all that is going on. The hog roast at the nursing home was great. You should have seen the spread? And my oh my - the desserts. I had some roast hog, tiny amount of salad, and some fruit salad. and a couple carrots(mini). And I had a glass of water and a glass of iced tea. I was satisified and passed up the desserts. By the way, I took 36 cream puffs and by the time I got to go through the line, there were none left. We left all the residents and visitors eat first, and then the staff got to eat. There was lots of brownies, cheesecake, and lemon bars left plus pies but I just choose not to eat those things when I dont know the sugar count. When I got home I had a bowl of split pea soup which is very high in protein. It was great. Today I taught classes and tomorrow I work. (as RN coverage). Went to the doctor the other day and he wants me to have a colonoscopy just as a check up. Yuck!! But My mom died of colon cancer and my pcp said that I need to have one to rule out any chance and that colon cancer is preventable if checked on. Nothing like putting my rear up for all to see. LOL Talk to you tomorrow. Colette
