I am so glad to find out that there is a "patient" support group in the Springfield area! I am interested in finding out what everyone's experiences have been with their surgeries. It is SO nice to make new friends!
Can't wait to see everyone there!
Claudette - You said that we could bring snacks to share? This is a wonderful idea! Can't wait to see what everyone's snacking on :-D ;-)

Hi Sherry! Welcome!
I am excited to meet you at the new support group meeting. We will be bringing our protein mixes, etc., yes, and I think it would be fine to bring some healthy snack ideas. What a wonderful idea!
Thanks for sharing!

I hope that you don't mind if I share one of my favorite recipes with you. The most important part of this recipe is that you can find a ton of different SF Da Vinci syrups to add! I love the carmel and I swear that the carmel one of these tastes just like a Starbucks Carmel Frap Light! Plus, I hear that Starbucks DOES have sugar in their Light Frappacinos! I had a friend go through the "dumping" syndrome after drinking one.
Starbucks Light Frappacino Clone
1 ¼ cups double-strength French roast coffee, chilled
1 scoop vanilla or chocolate protein powder
6 Splenda packets (more or less for your own taste)
2 cups ice
Make double strength French roast coffee by brewing with twice the grounds required by your coffee maker. That should be 2 tablespoons of grounds per each cup of coffee. Be sure to chill this before you use it in the drink or the ice will melt.
To make the drinks, combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until the ice is crushed and drink is smooth. Pour into two 16-ounce glasses.
If you like a flavored Frappacino, add Da Vinci syrup to taste.
Oh my goodness.....that sounds ALOT like what we had the other night at Claudette's!!! GREAT MINDS I tell ya!!!!!
And Glenna is the QUENN of Da Vinci syrups.....I've never tried them before that tasting over there but those girls LOVE them! I am going to have to get some of that caramel one to put in my choc frozen drinks. mmmmmmmm!

Hi Sherry!
Yummy! That sounds good! I use instant decaf coffee (1/2 Tablespoon) and soy milk for the liquid, but other than that, it's the same! I love this drink. It's my every morning treat.
Thanks so much.
