THURSDAY WHATS HAPPENING
Jan,
Always love your posts and hearing about your flowers. What is the address of your website? Bet some others would like to know too.
Also, what is so hard about drinking enough water? I mean is it hard to swallow or you forget to drink it or what? I drink a lot of water now because my mouth is always dry, probably from some of the meds I take, so it's hard for me to think I might have trouble drinking enough. I'm just trying to figure out what to expect after surgery.

Hi Jan,
We haven't met yet, and this is the first time I've written. I am one of the 5 "staff" members of the New Beginnings Support Group that Claudette had when she started that group. That first meeting we had in July 2004, I was about 8 weeks post-op at the time.
Claudette does an awesome job and I know you will enjoy coming to The Circle of Friends support group.
With going to the St. John's group and the Circle of Friends both, you will get a double dose of support......and we can all use lots of support.
As far as the constipation......I used the same stool softners that Jean mentioned to you for quite a while. For the last year or so, I've been taking 1 Flax Oil tablet a day. It is the 1200 mg, and the brand I have is Rexall, which I get at Wal Mart.
That has really been the answer for me.....but like you've heard a thousand times....we are all different.
On the start, it took me quite a while before I could swallow a pill of any size (and keep it down), but I'm fine with it now.
You will find what is right for you. Isn't it great to be able to talk to others about what they are using and trying.....talking with other post ops has been a huge help to me.
I need to get a picture posted on here, usually I stay so busy that I have trouble getting everything I want to do done.
I will look forward to meeting you on the 23rd and visiting with you in person.
Take care,
Glenna
Just a quick comment before I hit the bed early tonight......FLAX OIL! That will help! I tkae a capsule in the am and in the pm daily and I also found that eating a 1/2 cup of oatmeal every morning helps me keep regular. I eat 2 slices of turkey bacon with that every morning with 1 cup of Calorie Countdown choc milk......I feel robbed if I don't get it!!! Also walking and water will help with the stool issues....BTW on top of the flax and oatmeal I also do take 2 stool softeners a day. It's an issue we ALL face. You'll find what works for you. ; )
