TUESDAY WHATS HAPPENING
Wow did I ever have a day yesterday. I havent done all of that in one day in a long long time. Cant remember when the last time I felt as good as I did and did all that we did.
First we went to Springfield early for my shots in my knees and stopped at Ozark at the wal mart there since we were early. Was in walking around Wal-Mart about an hour before going on to my docs appointment. Was in there until 3 pm since he had to do x-rays and all. Got the first of the series of 3 shots in my knees. He said one side on both knees is really bad not much left there and under the knee cap too is bad , also I have about 4 bone spurs on each knee. The shots alto not a piece of cake weren't as bad as I figured they would be.
After the doctors office I stopped at the drug store and got some other things I had forgotten in wal mart and then went on to Branson and the new Branson Landing. It is really a neat place. We met up with both of my two brothers and had supper at Joes Crab Shack. I ordered off the appetizer menu. Ordered a cup of Clam Chowder and an order of peel em and eat em shrimp but I only ate one of them . By the time I ate all of my clam chowder I couldn't eat anything else. Brought them home will have them tomorrow. We walked and walked the area in the Landing. We walked for over two hours. Joe had to sit down several times but I just kept walking. Do you all realize, well I guess the post ops do, how exciting that is to just be able to walk and window shop and look and enjoy things and not get tired or be hurting or anything. We Listened to a couple of boys playing the plastic buckets and watched the fountain do its aerobatics to the music and lights. Very pretty show.
Found that they have a shop that I love the style of clothes , will be where I get my clothes when I get rid of all of this weight. Chico's . That is the store. Love their style. I get their catalog all the time .
Speaking of clothes. I bought 3 new blouses in Wal-Mart off the clearance rack .Tried on an 18 and they were too big so got out a 16 and they fit. Wow Can you believe it? I havent wore a 16 in forever. That is just the tops still in a 18 on bottoms lol
My knees and legs are sore this morning but other than that I don't feel any the worse for wear over all the walking last night. Makes me excited that I could do that much and that was with hurting knees. Wait until my knees aren't hurting. Wow.
Melissa did you party too much the other night? Havent heard from you.
Sherr: great that you are feeling well. Take care of yourself and be sure and try and get in the water.
I know you were happy to see Lucky after surgery.
It was so wonderfully nice of her to come and be with you.
Andrew: Well Susan if Andrew had told us it were your birthday we would have sang Happy Birthday to you. Hope you all get moved without any thing bad happening.
Good Luck
Lana: glad you had a good time at Silver Dollar City. Or as my hubby calls it Steal Your Dollar City. Lol
You know as long as we have been in this area we have never been there. Amazing isn't it. Lol
Maybe one day soon I would even like to go there too. I don't think I will ever get my hubby to want to go but I would like to go during one of their festivals or maybe at Christmas.
Claudette: so glad you got to go fishing even if you didn't catch any keepers.
Makes it more fun if you catch some but is the mark of a real fisherman when you don't and you still want to go back to there
Rachael: Sure hope one of these days will find out what is really wrong. I don't understand why they cant fine it now. Yes I am still praying for your mom and that she will get her approval soon. Your sisters surgery date is soon . Will keep her in our thoughts too.
Barbara T: Hey there. Yes my body loves those short naps in the middle of the day too. I feel like I am running on empty a certain time of the day each day and if I lay down and nap for about 15 or 20 minutes then I feel great again. I have felt like that forever but never gave myself permission to take a nap until after this surgery. Now I say why not? What is it going to hurt. And it sure does help.
Your grandson is young but I don't think too young. If he is called by God then they are never too young. God Bless him .Yes I know how we grandmas are but that is ok. We get proud of them.
Just keep walking you will get your legs back under you soon. Just look at what I did last night and 2 months ago I couldn't walk to my mailbox and back without almost dying.
Craig: I know what you mean about not staying in and at home as much as you use too. I am getting to be the same way about going a lot. After being bound to the house so much for so long it is like a person being let out of prison isn't it? FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST!!!!!
The words of the Great Martin Luther King take on a new meaning.
Yes I will rejoice with you about getting that trach taken out. Wont that be wonderful?
Do you know when you will get it out? And how about a new picture buddy. I know you have had to change a whole lot since this picture was taken.
Yes the getting into smaller clothes is like a great reward isn't it. Love it. I could see where it could get really addictive with being able to buy them once I get down to where I want to be. Lol
Patricia: Yes what Andrew told you about how to quit getting those questions is right . Did you check it and see if that was checked. It should be checked never. It is at the bottom. I can see where that would be very upsetting getting all of those questions like that. I would have freaked out over it too. Thanks Andrew for the info.
Want to welcome you to the board and please come back and talk to us some more would love to get to know you better.
Colette: Better late than never right? Sorry your hubby is feeling weak again. So they never figured out what was causing it at all? I know that has to be frustrating especially since you are a nurse and know that something is going on with him . Sounds like you stay busy enough for 2 or 3 people.
Sorry about your friend losing her father at such a young age. That is sad.
We love hearing from you . doesn't matter if it is late or early so post what ever time you want
I saw all sorts of ads for help in Branson at the Branson Landing yesterday and I may go apply for one of them ,lol that is if I can find the time.
Today I am going to go and dig up this area of Iris this lady wants gone out of her yard. She is giving me all of them. She was going to have them dug and thrown away and I told her I would do it. I will just plant them all up along my driveway. They will be a pretty patch of color here and there in the spring.
Tomorrow we are working on the green house some more. And then this week end we hope to get this guy over to put in the new toilet in the bathroom of the guest house. We are moving it to the other side of the room so there is more room by the tub. So hopefully that will happen.
See you all tomorrow.
LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS

Good morning Missouri....
I am at work and we are in for a slow day.....BTW, I switched doctors yesterday but can't get in to see him until the 31st of this month....This doctor I have dealt with before and he is an internist so hopefully he will be able to help me....
I hope that everyone who is getting ready to having surgery stays enouraged and that those who are already on the other side stay on the right track....that is what the OH family is for to keep everyone encouraged both pre and post-op....
Gotta run to draw blood....
God bless everyone....
Rachael
Momma Jan & Crew:
Oh Momma J, your day yesterday sounded sooooo wonderful, down to the fact that you ate soup and was full. I love hot soup! YUM....
Lucky was telling me yesterday that there were recipes on a recipe forum here, WHO KNEW?? I am quite excited about that...and will begin to collect them while I am "in and out" of it.
I am a wimp, it's official.....lol....I took a shower and am now really tired. Janet Corbett (pre-op) is coming up to Columbia to have her EDG today, and has been on the road since 4:00 this morning....YUCK! She says there's lots of road construction, that sounds like the road from Kennett to Springfield to me....construction, narrow, winding, and hard to drive on...boooooooo
My 1 week follow up is at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, and I was going to try to drive home (5-6 hours) afterwards, but if a shower wears me out, I am thinking a morning at the doctor's office will wear me out.... so I may just come back from the doctor's appt....and rest up until the next morning.
I am walking the whole 2nd floor here at the hotel, and yesterday I did it 4 times....
Lucky would be so proud, she is such a slave driver
XOXO

Good Morning Everyone
How is everyone this beatiful morning?? Looks like were going to have another warm day. Makes me wish I hadnt pulled down my pool so soon. lol I saw the news yesterday about the school shooting. What in the world is going on in our world today??? It upsets me so bad to watch the news anymore because your either see another school shooting. Or some parents just killed there kids. Seems to me like people think that other peoples lives are disposible. If you dont like someone or something they have done just kill them and get rid of them. Kind of a scary thought at times. I wonder if the Lord look down on us and wonders if were ever going to get our act together and stop all this nonsence?? Know what I mean??? Sorry like I said the news just tears me up.
So whats everyones plans for today??? I am doing my usual this morning shot, meds, protein. Then I am going to run some errands and pay bills. Yea!!! Makes some phone calls (my neices turn 21 today) ect..
Jan: No I didnt party to much. I had 29 people includeing myself & DH in our front yard until around 2am. Had a good time eating and danceing. Sunday we hung out at the house cleaning up and just relaxing. Monday I was over at my F-I-L's house all day deep cleaning while DH drove my F-I-L around for his eye test and trying to take his drivers test. Got his eyes examed but couldnt take his test. I am begining to wonder if the Dept of Revenue even knows what in the world they are doing. Anyhow were just waiting to hear back from them on weither he even needs to take a drivers test or not. I will just be glad when this is over and done with.
Well I hope you all have a wonderful day. I pray that God blesses you and keep you and your love ones safe.
God Bless
Melissa
Hello everyone.
Another hot day coming. DH announced last night that he's never eating dinner again - he has gained 15 pounds back of the 55 he lost last year. He's just normal like all of us who haven't had surgery - we can lose but we can also gain. I found out last night that the people who are living in the house my XH bought for my DD are planning to stay 2 more months. That means she won't get into her new house til December. She's so calm about it. She's staying with her Aunt Patty, my cousin who she's always called Aunt. I am furious that her dad isn't doing anything about this but she just says it will all work out and she's right. I'd just be spinning my wheels and biting tiresi!!!
I agree about Silver Dollar City being expensive. We bought season passes for about $60 apiece and with them we got six free passes, two for March, two for September and two for December so we've used 3 of the six already and will use the December ones when our kids come visit. And, we just don't buy stuff there. We eat at the Fried Chicken buffet and it's about $10.00 and then we don't buy water or anything else. It would be really hard with children though. They want everything they see and it's hard to continually say no. We enjoy the shows, do no rides, and get in lots of good walking. We park free since I have a handicapped placard. Don't know if we'll get two season passes next year. I know I'll get one for me but don't know about DH.
Hope everyone has a great day. See you tomorrow.
Lana
Good afternoon Jan and Everyone!!!
Just wanted to say Hello to everyone, I have a simple day today nothing special I think I will change some things around in my kitchen cabinets. You know before surgery I couldn't stand up for long periods of time or even walk very far without exhaustion setting in quickly. Now since surgery my activity level is getting better and better everyday. This surgery has truly changed things for me as well as for all of us, I'm walking better and feeling great, I even have been able to stand at the sink and wash dishes (I know my DH is happy)
I'm becoming a team player again
I never imagined that I would get back sooooo much of my life even with the surgery. I used to just sit and cry (big cry baby) about all the stuff I couldn't do. I once was an avid roller skater, so I'm thinking once I get down to where I want to be maybe just one time going skating
I went grocery shopping yesterday and walked the whole store and didn't get tired either Jan, I know we all have wonderful stories of our "WOW" moments. I am sooooo happy for everyone who have already had surgery ad for those whose surgeries are coming up, hang in there it gets better and better.
Jan: It is so great that you were able to do all that walking and not get tired, sounds like your stamina is increasing too. You are doing so great a 16 is good I've got a long way to go before I get there I was wearing a 32 now I'm down to a 24. And thank you for mentioning my grandson, he really is dedicated to the Lord, every preacher that comes to our church and meets him says he is old beyond his years, we've always felt like he's been here before
because of the things he says and the way he acts. You are a sweetheart, have you in my prayers.
to you.
Sherr: Good to see you posting and glad to hear you doing so well, sounds like you are getting the walking done
, anyway keeping you in my prayers. Be safe as you drive home and remember to stop every hour and walk around your car a couple of times. God's traveling mercies be with you and surround you.
Melissa: Hey there, I loved your post on Burdens of Life, you are very witty and humorous yet there is a quality of realness that comes from you and in the things you post. You don't skirt around anything you shoot from the hip
I know I don't know you well but that's what I feel when I read what you post whether funny or sincere you are real. When it comes to the news I'm like you and all these shootings, people killing and acting like life has no value, but it bothers me especially when people kill babies (children of all ages) what kind of grudge can be settled by killing kids? Why don't people talk anymore? BTW I think you are a sweet Lady too, God bless you!
To everyone: If I didn't mention you by name please don't charge it to my heart but to my head, Jan and Melissa seem to be very good at remembering everyone by name. Everyone please have a great and wonderful day today!
