The weekend. Once again it is hear and the last one for this month. Sunday starts October and soon will be all of the holidays. I have decided that I am not going to do a big thanksgiving and Christmas this year but not really happy about not doing it. I don't know what we will do in its place I told all of them I am going to come around to each of their houses for a day during the Christmas Holidays. I don't know. That is 4 houses that have to be done so don't know how that is going to work. And I know I wont feel like it is Christmas with out all the mess and cooking and noisy and stuff going on all in one place. Joe said we ought to just go away for Christmas to somewhere else entirely, like take a Cruise or something. I love Christmas and all of the family stuff so don't know. Anyway don't know how I got started on the Holiday thinking this morning, Guess because it is getting closer and Im really not pleased with not having all of them here at my house together this year. But all have different things and times that they could come so it wouldn't be with all of them there anyway. We got another load of creek gravel yesterday to start working on some more pathways . Still need one put from our house to the guest cottage and from our house to the shade garden. Now have to go get a load of rocks somewhere too, to edge them both. That is always fun work. LOL Talked to my Brother last night and after my doctors appointment Monday in Springfield we are going to meet at the new Branson Landing and walk around and look and then go to Joes Crab Shack for supper. Im sure I can find something good there that I can eat. Like Crab cakes yummy. Or maybe even steamed crab legs I don't know if I could eat one of those or not. Sounds good tho. Last night we had a lot of weekenders coming into the community. They are probably getting in one last week end before the cooler weather hits us. But there are a lot of them that come in the fall for fishing. Sky: good to see your smiling face this morning. Isn't it amazing how much busier we are getting since surgery? Like who did all of this stuff while I was so fat? Oh that's right ,it didn't get done. Lol Hope there wasn't too much wrong with the truck. I know how expensive that can be. We have a crack in our tailpipe now that we are going to have to go get fixed. Always something. Melissa: thanks for all the updates on Sherr. So glad she came thru the surgery fine. Did you get any thing painted on your lighthouse yesterday? You will have to send us a picture of that when you are done. How big is it? How did your fil. Doctor appointment go the other day. Did they give him a clean bill of health or what? Did they check him for Alzheimer's? I hope that isn't what is working on him that is such a horrible illness. Andrew: just checking to see if you sat still long enough and Susan found a box big enough to put you into . Lol I know you will be busy the next few days moving but if you get a chance pop in and say hi. My computer is one of my first things I hook up when I move after the bed. Lol Then I don't feel so out of the loop. Barbara T: Joining the community center down the street from you is that where you want to move too? Is that like senior housing or what? Some of those places are really nice . When we sold our place in Shell Knob we checked into getting into the brand new one in Shell Knob but we made 10.oo a month too much money. They didn't care how much money we had cash just about monthly income. Then they base the rent on what you make. This one is so nice . Up on a hill with all the houses sit in a semi circle around the main clubhouse. Wide well landscaped streets. A pretty yard that you can plant flowers in and all the units 2 bedrooms. Are made into 4 plexes and so nice. We thought it would be nice to not have to do any maintence of any kind. LolBut glad we are in our own place anyway. Love it out here. Yes I have heard of Jazzercise it is a fun way to exercise. If you have lots of rhythm . If you like to dance you would love it. Very good cardio workout. Love you lady so keep up the good work. Lana: Sounds like you will have a good holiday this year huh? I know you will enjoy it. That is when I always put my tree up is the day after Thanksgiving. Then the next week is filled with me doing all the other decorating inside and out. I love decorating the house . I sure agree with you about all the loving caring people on this board. Sugar: you didn't tell us what all you did yesterday but I guess I already know , packing for your trip. Did you decide if you had too much or not enough? Lol. I always take way too much when I go someplace and always swear that I wont do that the next time. But do. I love taking slow drives to no where too but Joe is one of these drivers that likes to go as quick as he can from point A to point B and wants to know where he is going . Lol Colette: Hey good to see you back on the board. Thought maybe you had taken another trip. Glad your daughter is doing so well after her surgery. Yes 30 pounds is pretty good in a month. I didn't think so for me until I got to really reading other peoples profiles and stuff . The only ones that lose much more than that are the ones that have a lot more to lose. I bet you and Andrew will have a good time on the 14th of November after his surgery. And your appointment. Does it seem like it has been almost a year since you had surgery? A lot better year than the one before huh? I know what you mean about the days not being long enough . I cant get everything done that I want to do in a day. Body feels like doing it just not enough time. Sometimes I think they implant speed into us during surgery LOL. Well guys hope everyone has a great week end. Looks like we are going to have wonderful weather for today and tomorrow. So get outside and enjoy it. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS JAN

Good morning Jan and all the people reading this, Thought I would post early today since I am off work this weekend. Got a lot to do as usual. Jan you make us feel like we dont don anything. LOL. You are always so busy in your yard. I plan on doing some cleaning inside today and then I am going outside to clear the garden of all the plants. Tomatoes and all are going. Then I am going to rotatile the garden and get the soil ready for next year I know what you mean about moving where it is maintenance free. But we like it here in the country also, so will stay as long as we can. I know it is a lot of work, but it is so beautiful to sit outside in the peace and quiet of things. I could use you as my private gardener though. LOL The holdiays are approaching fast. Am doing some shopping already as I hate last minute shopping. Our kids always come home the week between Christmas and New Years. Usually they are not here on Christmas but come several days after as they spend Christmas with the other sidde of the family. My children are in 5 different states, Kansas, Texas, Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois. It is sorta lonely at times, and I think that is why I keep busy too. Well, everyone have a great day. It is so nice to be able to read about you often and how well you are all doing. Colette

Jan dont give up on the holidays. You can cook and make thing for other people. You will soon learn you dont have to eat everything you cook and for me personally I dont mind other people eating goodies. I know I can eat them if I want to but most of the time I just dont want them. I dont crave sweets anymore. One of our neighbors brought over a cake I took one bite but it just did not taste very good to me so I threw it away. Cake just does not appeal to me much anymore. When you go to Joes Crab Shack one thing that works for lots of early pre ops is boiled shrimp. Shrimp is not hard on the pouch and has good protien. Peel and eat shrimp was wonderful for me early on although you wont eat many. Crab legs may work but they are richer and may be harder on the pouch. You can make wonderful desserts with splenda too and lots of time no one knows the difference. I make a wonderful homemade apple pie with splenda and it taste better to me than one with all that sugar. The apples are good for you and with a small slice it is not a horrible choice when you are farther along. You can make wonderful sf carrot cakes and cheesecakes with low fat cream cheese and splenda and sf fruit topping. We still can eat pretty good just differently.

Good Morning Missouri It's such a nice day already, kinda cloudy but nice out. We're so busy packing getting ready for the move its unreal. Where did all this stuff come from, sheesh lol. Seems like there's stuff coming outta the walls. It's amazing how much stuff you collect in such a short time. We've lived in Missouri 3 years now and thought we got rid of alot of things when we moved here lol guess half of it found its way back to us lol. Colette I'll make sure them nurses dont let me snoooze all that long after surgery...i'll tell em I gotta get to a parrrrrrttttttyyyyyyy LoL It's really great to hear that Sherr came through surgery with flying colors and that she had someone there for support, Becky your a trooper and a half!!! Jan my wife might find a box big enough to put me in but I doubt she's strong enough to lift the box LoL she'd just leave me at the curb for the garbage truck LOL j/k. After tuesday of next week I might not be on here for a week or so. It'll be that long getting the net hooked up. The cable people have to come run a line from the main pole to the house, they are taking their time getting out there to do that and the phone company has to do the same thing so im not quite sure how many days i'll be without but hopefully not too long. Their still waiting on Ameren to come out and drop a line to the house, they were spose to do that this week, I havnt been out there to check and see if they have, we'll prolly drive out there today, I sure hope they have or we wont be able to move til they do. Well I better get busy....sure hope everyone has a wonderful day. Andrew

Good afternoon Jan and Everyone What a beautiful day I think I'll get out and see what I can get into today. I'm so happy my grandson is getting ordained next Thursday, he's the youngest preacher on our Ministerial board and he can preach (boy preacher). When my daughter was pregnant with him God told me to name him Justin because his name stands for Justice and that He is going to make him a great man, and ever since this kid could talk it's all about God, and how he wants to build him a church so he has a hard time fitting in, he's very active in differnt ministries at church, and he loves God soooooo much. Of course he won't have the full duties of the ministry until he is older, but he preaches his heart out, I'm so happy for him because he wants to be a Pastor when he matures. Jan I live in South Kansas City and there is a community center called The View that is really nice in Grandview, MO which is not far down the street from where I live, but the membership fee is pretty stiff if you don't live in Grandview so we are looking at places in the Grandview area to move too. I love Grandview is a beautiful city and since I've gotten older I just want some where quiet without a lot of children and teenagers around I have enough grandchildren already, but funny thing kids seem to flock to me so I guess I'm not a mean old ogre after all This center I believe has water aerobics and exercise equipment of all kinds that I can use, etc.. Well I guess it is time to get a move on and find something productive to do To everyone have a blessed and wonderful weekend, keeping you all in my prayers ya !! Barbara T. In KC

Jan I know just how you feel about the holidays. We've made some changes there as well. We seldom do the crowded get togethers anymore. We've come to enjoy just the 4 of us or maybe an extra few, it's rather a nice change. (we see the other family at other times thru the year) I do MISS the huge gatherings, fun/food, visiting, gift giving, but as the years pass, people get their OWN families growing and everyone has different committments. We just decided it was time to begin our OWN traditions. It's not bad really. : ) Honestly post-op, I've found that when I DO go back for those HUGE gatherings, I tend to GRAZE all day! It's like getting back to my childhood or something.....ya know, eat big, undo the pants, lay down for an hr, eat some more(cause the foods out ALL day anyway!), and continue that cycle till bedtime! lol And maybe it's not an issue at your gatherings, but I sure don't miss the family DRAMA! lol So enjoy the new traditions you'll be starting, it'll go along with the NEW JAN! : ) Happy weekend!!!
