medicare
Hi Cathy, WELCOME!! I'm Debbie, from Harrisonville, MO! Have you been to one of Dr. Hornbotel's seminars yet? They are mandantory if you didn't already know. I believe they are hed the first Tuesday of every month down in Sedalia, at Bothswell Hospital.
If I'm wrong I'm sure others will be posting to let you know for sure. We are a big family here and we love getting new members! Keep in touch and you will be getting all the support you need to get through this.
From what I have heard, Medicare is one of the easiest insurances to go with for wls. You will mainly find out everything at the seminar (get there EARLY)! I do know that you will need a referral letter from your pcp telling about your co-obesity problems that you are or may be having and you may have to have test run depending on what problems you have along with your weight.....there is other stuff but for some reason I just went blank. The other ladies and men on here will be on to help you out...they are a great bunch...you'll like them! Good Luck and keep in touch...Deb M

i assume that you have already been to a seminar if you have an appointment with Dr. H alread. all i had to have sent to them was a letter of recomentdation from my pcp listing all that was wrong with me and why i needed the surgery and my psych eval. sent in to them. The doctors office took care of all of the rest for me. Jan Cook
Hi Cathy,
If you have a psych eval already, all you need is your letter of recommendation from your PCP, Dr. H and his staff will submit everything to Medicare, all you'll have to do is sit and wait. As far as records from your PCP, I didnt have to send any in, they will do all the blood work and pre-op stuff about a week before surgery.
Good Luck on your journey!!!
Andrew
