Welcome to the Missouri board!!! I just went thro WLS in April of 2006. And I know that for me I was more then ready to have it done. I went thro alot of up hill struggles but it was so well worth every hill I had to climb. I want to encourge you to feel free to come post anytime. That what we are here for is to be here for one another. Please feel free to read of of our profiles to see where we have come from to where we are right now. If I had to do it all over again (even the hills) I would do it in a heart beat!!!! Before surgery I dodnt have a life outside of the 4 walls of my house. Now I am always on the go. I use to wear o2 24/7, had sleep apena, slept in a hospital bed, took a bucket of meds everyday, had breathing treatments 4x's a day. I dont use O2 at all, I slept thro the night with out my by-pap machine, sleep in a regular bed, Lost over half of my meds I was on. No more breathing treatments. Walk about 1/2 mile every day. I have lost a total of 170lbs since Oct of 2005. I have to slow down for my hubby to catch up with me now. I feel like I have been truly blessed to have had the door for WLS opened for me. The one most important thing I can tell you on Do's & Dont's is this. Do EVERYTHING the Doctor tells you to do!!!!!!! Good luck with your journey please let us know how you are doing. And keep posting so we know how you are!!!
Take Care
Melissa

Welcome to the MO Board. Like everyone else said, we are here to help and to support each other. I had my surgery on June 1st. I feel so much better than I did then. I am off all my meds expect my pain pills and my stomach pills. The rest are gone and I am so happy about that. I went to not being able to walk to the mailbox to walking about 2 miles every morning. I have lost about 80lbs and still have about 100 to go. But life is so much better now. Dr. Hornbostel is my Doctor and is great. So who is your Doctor? I said you said you are pretty scared. Well that is understandable; you are about ready to undergo a life changing surgery. If there is any way I can help feel free to e-mail. Or just post away and someone on this board will jump right in and try and help you in any way they can. Just know that by posting and joining us on this board you have been added to many prayers list. Yes even mine.
May God Keep and Bless you and help give you peace.
Sky
