Protien powders?
Hi... I've been doing some shopping trying to find some of the different protien powders or energy bars that we are able to eat after surgery? We were told at the seminar to check out different ones so we could aquire a "taste" for them... well I've been to Walmart looking at all the different "stuff" they have there and I'm NOT finding anything but the weight/body builders powders... I looked for Isopure but no luck - there is a Walgreens in town is that where they are? can someone tell me what I'm looking for in cal.; sugars; carbs; and so on? I looked online for Unjury but it didn't say much. Help - please?

Pat a lot of us are using "ON" 100%whey protein powder it has the black label and can be bought at Food 4 less in Springfield. Dont know where you live but some told me that walgreens has it too. It comes in large 5 pound cannisterds. has 24 mg of protein and when mixed with skim milk or soy milk as i have to use it make 30 grams of protein . since we are suppose to have 90 a day 3 of them work wonders and when you get to where you can have food you can do 2 and a meal or what ever.
Right after surgery just let it be known to you that you will be very lucky if you can get 3 a day in. i am a month out and just now am getting to where i can if i really push myself. It takes awhile. Jan
Thank you Andrew... I am NOT finding anything around Clinton... not at Walmart or Walgreens - I'm on so many high powered narcotics I don't feel safe driving further than Clinton and that is a trial haha I feel like the little old lady from Pasadena trying to get to town for groceries - I'm a mess. giggle I don't know this area at all so I don't think Clinton has a GNC - sigh, well I'll keep looking, I guess I'll find some or buy it off the internet.
Thanks

Hi Pat, I have tried the unjury as samples they do taste ok. It says on the strawberry to use water, however i about gagged it was awful. But with skim milk it wasn't bad. I have done alot of research with the protiens. I found that NECTAR has a few different flavors and really isn't bad falvor at all. I really like the strawberry kiwi in skim milk, even have a flavor called roadside lemonade and a cappiccino flavor. As far as the cost, it is quite compariable to the others. I think the last one i bought was $23.95 or $25.95. I can't remember the sight i bought it from, I haven't had my surgery yet i was trying different one's to get some i really liked. But if you just search NECTAR I am sure you'll find it.
Hope you great luck. : thumbsup:
