Hey all, Well, it looks like I'll be joining the gall bladderless among us too. Not sure when my surgery will be. Pain is not pleasant, but my husband is being deployed for a few weeks to do border patrol down south. Not sure I'm goign to do it while he's gone. Craig's post has made me a bit nervous. Worse than Gastric Bypass pain? I don't know if I can handle that again. Pray for me! Tracey Bateman

Tracey well you dont want to keep the thing and it cause too much trouble. if they get infectied and really bad you will be begging someone to do something you dont care what. so if you need to have yours removed you maybe should do it before it gets too bad. I had mine out years ago but it was emergency ,right now or else surgery. I knew what was going on but kept killing the pain with pain pills untill i woke up in the middle of the night throwing up and wallering on the floor in horrible pain. they had to do an open surgery becasue i had stones even in my ducts and was causing some dying of tissues. so dont wait too long. the lap type of surgery when it isnt that bad isnt as bad as it could get. will pray for you so that you husband can be with you when you have it done. Love Jan

Tracy, I had my WLS in May and had to have my gall bladder removed in Sept. Trust me, if you are in pain, get it out as soon as possible, don't put it off. Besides, from what I have heard from others, if that thing erupts, you will be in far greater pain then you could even imagine. I don't really remember being in a lot of pain after mine.........I was pretty much just sitting around the house for a week afterwards cause I couldn't go back to work till the dr took the staples out. Now if you really want to know pain, which I hope that no one here has to deal with that kind, but try going through hemoroid surgery, it will make WLS look like a walk in the park!

Get that bad gall bladder out asap. They can be dangerous as mine almost killed me back in April. If they do lap band it does not hurt too bad most of the hurt is pre op when your gall bladder acts up. After they took mine out I got better I was just so full of infection that is what got me down and almost killed me. Gall bladder problems are a common side effect after wls.

TRAYYCEE - BAYBEE - Yep - it's got to come out. I had mine out i***** and almost died afterwards but that was the surgeon's fault - not the procedure. I'd say it's similar to the WLS surgery without the eating restrictions. Just do what you know how to do - walk after, walk often, exercise when they say it's okay. That gallbladder pain is no fun and it'll be gone once it's out. Keep posting so we know you're okay - you'll probably drop some pounds with the surgery - maybe a little plus for all the trouble.
