My drain site is beginning to hurt! Its not red or feel hot, so i dont think its infected? Also when i drink my liquids, my stomach starts to cramp? Is this normal? Oh and also I havent been able to sleep during the night or day just short naps. Has anyone else had this problem. I called the office yesterday because after the surgery, Dr. Fearing said i was in a lot of pain because i had 3 deep stitches she put in to keep me from getting a hernia. I asked Natalie about that and she said that she does that to all her patients! She said that, thats not something Dr. Scott or Dr. Del la torre does. Huuuuuummmmmmmm?

dont know what is normal about all of that Holly. My doctor doesnt use the drains nor the stitches. I would say that if it isnt red or swollen then it is probably just the healing process. Good luck .Hope you are feeling better soon. Jan

Holly, so sorry you aren't dong well. My drain location hurt too, even though it wasn't infected. I think it was just being pulled from the weight of my tummy. For the cramping, you might change the temperature of the fluids you are drinking. Hot and cold things caused me some discomfort. I didn't experience insomnia problem, but read that it is a common occurrence after wls. I think you should just take short naps during the day and maybe then you will be more tired at night. Maybe that will help. ~Diana
