Walking...
Hi to all my OH friends,
I have been using my treadmill to walk for my exercise. I am at a speed of 2 MPH and am walking 1/3 of a mile. I try to up the distance every day. I think I'll keep the speed where it is for right now. It really feels good. Today, I'm going for a job interview. I have applied at several places and this is my first interview. I have no idea what the job is, but if I don't think I'll like it then I don't have to take it! LOL I guess that's one of the nice things about being retired--you can work for the fun of it because you don't have a family at home depending on the income. I'm glad I'm past that part of my life. I got up this a.m. and put on clothes I haven't been able to wear for years. The blouse is one I used to wear 9 years ago when I was working in an office. I couldn't believe it fit or that I even kept it. And it fits well. It's not even too tight or even semi-tight. My DH was amazed, too! I'm going to have to go through my clothes and get rid of all the 4X that's hanging there and taking up space. Can hardly wait! I was weighing every day, but couldn't handle the disappointment of fluctuating back and forth. So I decided I'd weigh every Monday a.m. and it will truly show my progress. Something I have been doing and find it to be very helpful is writing in a journal every day. I put everything in it that I'm feeling, hoping for, and want to know about. A very special friend of mine suggested this and it really seems to help me through the day. She said it would be fun to reread after I reach my goal weight and I think she's right! Some days are better than others, but that's the point of a journal--tell it like it is! I started mine on the day of surgery. You new post-ops might want to do something like this too. Well, I wish everyone a wonderful day and all God's richest blessings.
Love, Linda
ok, I will take you up on this. I like to drink my protein shake for breakfast on the way to work. I like to taste sweet things but since surgery I use Splenda to bake all things and make us desserts that way. Banana bread, sugar free cheese cake, and sugar free peanut butter cookies. I love frui****ermelon, and cantalope and bananas. I have been enjoying wearing clothes I never thought I could wear. Had to give a lot away because I waited too long to try them on. Thought I was still too fat. Boy was I shocked that they were too big. LOL When I am not gardening, working, cleaning, weeding garden, doing church work or on CP, I like to just sit and knit. Sounds boring I know, but it is a rare occassion. I love to cook and bake also. Have a great day. Coette
