Wednesday Whats Happening
Wednesday, hump day, middle of the week, Can you believe it . Of course to me one day is the same as the other. Being retired. I miss that , the looking forward to the weekend. I have week ends all week long now. Saw a saying yesterday (Its never to late to be what you might have been) isn't that neat? That is sort of like this weight loss surgery is too isn't it.? Gives us a chance to be that person that we might have been. Sort of a second chance. Make do of it well my friend.
Yesterday what did I do? Lets see I picked flower seeds and harvested them. I picked Zinnias, marigold, Mexican sunflower, asters, Zillions, Cleome . Several others but I cant remember. Joe moved all of my herbs and mints over to an area for me that is a lot easier to take care of . Some of the little pots are now up where I can get to them on a tall bench.
I sat in a chair and cut the tops off of some of the lilies that he dug up yesterday.
Im not having any trouble cooking meals for Joe. It doesn't seem to bother me. Food sure is going to go a lot further since Im not eating also lol
I drank two protein shakes yesterday and then the rest of my diet was the clear liquid diet. I could only get the two of them in wanted to try and get in three but just couldn't do the last one. I think I was full. The feeling is a funny one don't know if it were a full feeling or not but it was uncomfortable.
I called Bothwell hospital yesterday around noon and checked on Angie Patrick and also on Ronald Bailey. Both had surgery by Dr. Hornbostel. Angie on Monday and Ronald on Tuesday. Both are doing fine. Ronald had only been back in his room for about an hour. Angie was doing so well that Dena was telling her that she might get to go home yesterday. That is great.
Todd: yeah puppies have a way of training us sometimes. Glad you are enjoying him. It isn't going to be much longer before you surgery is it.
Heres wishing you so much luck and happy healing with it.
Rachael: Sure wish that you would get some pain relief before long. Do they still think that is it from the low levels of B-12?
Colette: So the b-12 sub Q do you think they are really help you as well as a shot?
Hope they get your car fixed soon. The gas has come down some but not enough to use a gas guzzler. Joe and I are thinking of buying us a real small little car to run back and forth on short trips in to save on gas. Like a Honda or something. Or something less in price. Out big truck tho gets 21 miles to gallon which I think is really good for a big 4 wheel drive pickup.
Yes I will let you know about the final amount that I have to pay from Medicare. Like I said they told me they would work with me on paying it so I figured it would be worth having this done.
Andrew: Yep im doing great. No problems. Just waiting for the go ahead for full pureed foods. Anxious to get going on that and getting some real tastes again. The drinking the protein shakes really help satisfy me tho. That is something I cant really tell is if I am full or not. I guess the pressure feeling is what they are all saying.
I think they have almost perfected this to such a degree that it will be old fashioned and out of date in another year or so. Lol
Dr. Hornbostel said in his seminar that I went to that he expects there to be a pill that everyone can take that will do the same thing in the near future. That sure would be great wouldn't it?
Don't let the naysayers get you down. There are so many of them out there. And usually they are the ones that have never had a problem with their weight. They don't know what all we have gone thru and cant understand it.
I too think that so many Christian people are getting this done it is as if God opened up the door for us and said LOOK.
You have plenty of time to lose the 25 pounds you have left to do. If it seems at a standstill then up the protein and down the carbs and increase the walking if possible . Maybe do some chair exercises if it isn't possible. It will come off. You have 2and ½ months . We are cheering you on. Do just 3 protein shakes a day
That will give you your protein and only about 700calories a day.
Melissa: Did you get your pool patched? They say they are really easy to patch. Do those pools have a drain at the bottom that you can drain it out of ? Or do you just have to deflate the top ring?
I hope Dr. Scott gets you into surgery soon and gets rid of that hernia. They can sure be painful .
Thanks for calling Brenda, I guess she still isn't feeling well enough to get online yet? I hope she gets on sometime soon.
Yes there are up sides to everything isn't there? I know I use to not want to be too close to Joe at night because he made me even hotter , now I like to snuggle because he is so warm. I was always so hot natured too before. Seems really weird.
I remember the times when we have lived in small towns and could sit out on the porch in the fall mornings and listen to the high school bands practicing. I love that.
Jamie: glad to see you back online and posting. Heck I guess im a tough ole bird that cant be kept down for too long. I hope you get your approval for surgery very soon. Hang in there it will happen.
Debbie Murdock: Good grief woman you really had a day and a half yesterday didn't you? Where did you get your energy from? Was it legal? Lol What are you using the gravel for . We need to get some more for our driveway too. But I need to get rid of some of the tree sprouts first. Anyone know of a liquid killer that will kill thorn tree sprouts.?
Glad the spot in your hubbys nose was only a cyst. That is a lot to be thankful for.
How far is Springfield from Harrisonville? We will keep you son in our prayers for a good college stay.
Craig : Buddy where are you today and how are you feeling? I miss you when you don't post online.
Holly Robinette is having surgery in Columbia today So lets all remember to pray for her.
Continue to keep the ones that have had their surgerys this month in your prayers. We need them as we continue to heal.
True friends are those that really know you but love you anyway. And we do love each and everyone of you.
New to the Mo. Board Angela LaMothe. Good to see you on here. And Welcome.
LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS

Good Morning Missouri...
Thanks Jan for the encouraging words, yeah it seems im kind of at a stuck point but I know I'll get there. I've started attending a weight group at another church here in town called "First Place" weight loss group. It's simular to Weigh****chers I guess but on a different level and its all christians and they pray pray pray and have bible study plus support, its really good. The only thing is, I'm the ONLY man there, ai yi yi LoL It's funny tho, a couple of the ladies at my church go there and been trying to talk me into going for awhile now and I just decided what the heck i'll give it a go lol. I feel like a kid with a bunch of moms there LoL But its been really good, been twice now, they meet once a week. I figured it'd help to be in a support type group like that, so hopefully that'll help get some pounds off too.
Sure wish Deb would share some of that energy with US sheeeesh gurl when you go you go lol.
Sure glad to see everyone is doing good, Brenda, Craig and all the others that just had surgery. I really loved reading Brenda's post, was so interesting.
Well my wife's off today so we're gonna run a few errands and such. Hope everyone has a great day!!
God IS so Good
Andrew
Wow Colette thats really awesome you went through nursing school after your kids were grown and stuff. I been thinking about this awhile and keep saying aaahhh im to old to start something like that. Seems I've wasted alot time doing other things and got big and well you know but knowing how you did it just really encourages me. Dr. H. did say when I saw him that he's seen so many people go on to lose weight then go to vo-tech or somewhere and start a career late in life, sheeesh if ya'll can do it I sure can too lol. Thanks so much Colette.
Get the party popcicles ready lol we'll have one big party at the hospital LOL
Thanks again!!!!
Andrew
Good Morning Every One
Wow what a beautiful morning God has blessed us with today. Not to hot or to cold but just right for me anyway.
Yes I do have a very nice place to walk here a lot of nature and a few dogs that I have to say good morning to now or they just keep barking at me. LOL But if I tell them good morning then they just shut up and go about their business. Yesterday I had a run in with a pretty large opossum. It was on the side of the road and walking toward me and hissing pretty good at me. And all I could think is this thing looks really sick which is not good for me. LOL I stopped and asked it what it was doing out this time of day and it just kept on hissing walking at me. I took a couple steps away from it and told it to shut up and go home (and I said God do you see this?) I walked way over to the over side of the road as far as I could without getting in the ditch keeping my eyes on that critter and it turned around and went the other way after I said God do you see this. LOL So I thanked God and went on the rest of my walk. LOL And I think I messed up by picking up a few things I knew I wasn't supposed to and now my hernia is not feeling very well. My youngest DH told me yesterday that it was starting to look bad as the more I lose the more it looks like it is poking out. She thinks I need to go to the Dr. right now. I tried to tell her that I go on the 14th and Dr. H will know what I need to do then. I am really wanting to wait till after the 1st of the year to have any thing else done.
Melissa I am waiting to hear what your Dr. tells you about your hernia so please keep us informed. And I am saying extra prayers for you and for your DH and father in law.
Jan and all you other new post-ops, I am so glad you are doing well, you are all in my prayers. And for all the pre-ops and the older post-ops you are in my prayers also.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day today.
May God Keep and Bless Each and Every One of You and Your Families Too.
Love ya all
Sky
LOL Jan, yes it was legal...I guess....lol The only thing I had was a large cup of coffee and a sandwich at burger king. I think it was more that I was being blessed than anything else....Praise God!!
Thank you for the prayers...Springfield is about 3 or 4 hours from here...can't remember for sure.
The gravel is for the circle driveway and for the holes the dogs have dug after spotting rabbits, squirrels, ground hogs, other dogs, cats, birds, bugs...who knows...lol I finally learned how to use "crush n run" to keep my dogs from digging or at least slow them down...so far it's worked. The worst digger of all is my Lhasa Apso (12lbs of terror).....sometimes tho, the lil stinker, sits back, lets the big dogs dig, then she escapes...lol...she loves to hunt and she THINKS she bigger than anything out there. I have seen bobcats and coyotes, opossum and raccoons so she better be careful!
Sky...watch those critters! With the heat and drought, we could have an outbreak of something. We have had to put down a couple of raccoons because they were sick. I think they had distemper but you never know. Out in the daylight, friendly with people, walking like their drunk, falling over and can't hardly get up, just not acting like raccoons should act. I can't wait until I can get out and walk, run...anything! I'm sooo happy for all of you that can or that soon will be!
Andrew....LOL, I'd share if I could. I feel pretty good again today...have plans to get more done, just not over do it!
Praying for those in need and those that don't think they need more...God Bless All, Deb
well, here itis 900p.m and I am posting. Had to go get my car tonight and it looks like new. Has a bumper on the front again. LOL
Jan, you ask about the B-12. The optisource vitamins we can get at Doc. H or at Walgreens and you take 4 a day. that is calcium and vitamins and when I used them I also took sublingual B-12. When I had my blood work in March, all my labs were normal and my b-12 was a tad bit above normal. So I cut sublingual b-12 down to 3 times a week. I have never taken a shot and personally will just keep on doing what I am doing. I also take that B1 every day. I buy that at Walmart. Dena told me to take that. and I still do and feel fantastic.
Took my walk tonight and now I have a few things to do and go to bed. Everyone have a great day. and evening. Colette.
