Sunday Morning Whats Happening:
Another beautiful peaceful Sunday morning. Oh course I don't know how beautiful it is going to be since I am up in the middle of the night typing this up. I was so tired last night that I went to bed at 9pm . I woke up at midnight sweating like crazy. Since the temp in the house is 73 it isn't because I it is hot in the room so I took my temp and that is normal. I don't feel bad just sweating. Anyone had any problems with that let me know.
I got a lot more of my liquid in yesterday and did some small jobs around the house yesterday. Am still feeling really good just a little weak.
When I was in the hospital and Marge, one of Dr. Hornbostels girls. Came to see me and we talked about all sorts of things and she told me when my next appointment was, which is Thurs the 24th. It was first on the 22nd but we couldn't go then so it was changed to the 24th . She said that if I wasn't having any pains and felt well that on the 22nd I could start by drinking some of my soy milk if I wanted. She said never add two things at once because if you got sick then you wouldn't know which one made you sick. Like to start my drinking some soy milk then later in the day if that didn't make you sick to add the protein powder to it and try that. So will be looking forward to maybe being able to start protein shakes on Tuesday. I think that will help a whole lot on the weak feelings.
I even cooked supper for Joe last night. No problems doing it. Im not hungry. The food looked and smelled good but I didn't want it. I told Joe yeah Im sure if I ate that stuff I would be dead probably lol. Tear all the new plumbing apart. Wouldn't that be a little stupid.
The weather is suppose to change today. I certainly hope so . I am ready for normal weather for this time of the year and not this triple digits stuff. Low to mid 90s is ok but 102 is just too much. We still haven't gotten any of the rains they are saying we are suppose to be getting but if it just drops the temp will be fine.
I am getting so anxious to get into my flower beds and get some much needed fall work done. I have loads of the orange tiger lilies that are starting to take over my lily beds and I Joe is going to make me a separate bed for them to where they can just spread all they want. We want to put them along the roadway in front of our property on one side. We have a corner lot of about 2 acres. So one whole side will be lined with them one day. Which wont take long as fast as they spread.
But I can wait for another week or so until Dr. gives me the go ahead to start gardening. To get it done. I promised Joe I would wait until he said it was fine. I figure the book says that after two weeks you can resume sex then you ought to be able to garden by then. Lol.
Lucky: wow 2 weeks of a liquid high protein diet? Wow that is a long time but at least you still get to keep your protein. Your date will be here soon. Cant wait for you to be joining us new baby post ops. Just a week more. I know you are getting excited.
How did your fundraising coffee for the Senate Candidate go. Hope well we need all the women we can get in there.
Tracey: Sorry to hear about your gall bladder pains. I remember those it is very very painful. It may derail you on your work schedule too. Let us know what Dr.Hodges says on your check up Monday.
In your blog you talked about your dog dying but didn't say what happened. Was he just old or did he become ill? I know that was a sad day for all of you. They become such parts of our lives and like a member of our family.
Melissa: I know what you mean about the rain. Sometimes it seems to skip us. How long after surgery did your doctor release you to start doing the pool? I would think as long as the stab wounds are healed wouldn't be a problem would there? I am writing down questions to ask Dr. H. when I go in next week. Thanks for the advice on the water. I keep plugging along at it.
Yesterday I lay in the sun in my recliner chair outside with it beating down on my tummy area. It felt so very good. I remember when I had a hysterectomy years ago and it was about this time of year that is what I did to feel better fast I lay in the sun . I think getting the extra vit. D. helped heal me.
Linda : congratulations on being able to get into some different clothes. That is great. Makes you feel good when you can see progress like that doesn't it? And wonderful that you have your complete families support too. I know your dad is proud of you as all of us are too.
Colette: Hey I tried that with putting the hours worth of liquids out and then trying to get them in and it seems to work a lot easier. I guess cause it doesn't look like so much to have to get down. But it works better. Still not able to make it in amount but increased it by about 8 ozs yesterday.
You know we will all be keeping your daughter in our prayers for a safe and uneventful surgery on the 29th. Even tho you have been thru the surgery yourself this is your baby and worry. So yes we will all pray.
Thanks for all your post op tips and concerns. I always know where to turn to when I worry about something.
Sherr: well I assume you did stay for your sleep test huh? I hope so. I never had to have one of those . How can they get a reading on how you sleep if you have to lay on your back when that isn't how you sleep. I don't understand their thinking. So are you still in Columbia? And will you stay until your consult on the 22nd? Glad you found a good reasonable motel. That could get expensive. But driving back and forth could get even more so. Your date will be here before you know it.
Craig: I cant wait until you can start implementing some of your long dreamed about plans. Everyone says that as you lose weight to not invest a lot of money in clothes since you wont be in each size down the ladder long but go to the thrift shops and find things.
Craig that is the nursing I did when I was a nurse was with the elderly. That was always my calling I felt. Others feel like children and different venues but I have always been drawn to elderly people even when I was a young girl. Did you give up your nursing lic. When you became disabled? So do you feel like you will need to go all the way back and complete nursing school? Or just a refresher course?
Well I guess I will get off here this morning . I m not too informative this day .
Glad to have so many people posting and telling of their plans and what they are doing now. Since I am so barren with interesting news lol
I know life is just around the corner I can see it and am looking forward to getting there soon. This surgery is the most life giving thing that there is around , well next to being saved and in his Grace.
Andrew, Lana, Tressia, miss you all.
LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS

Good Morning Everyone:
Well at least it is morning and not on the verg of afternoon. It is 3:35am here I am getting ready to jump with both feet into bed. Had some drama late this evening. We were sitten out on my front porch visiting with the neighbors around 11pm. When my phone rings and it is my Father-in-law. Of course I freaked out cause he NEVERS calls us that late. So when I answer the phone it is his local Police Dept calling from his house. The pulled him over and took his drivers licenses & keys away from him and took him home. Because they said he was a threat to other people on the road and himself. So here I am trasping around Carthage, MO in my PJ's driving to the Police Dept to get his keys so we can take his car home. He was approx 1/2 block from his house and he was driving so bad that they wouldnt even let him drive the rest of the 1/2 block home. Got him inside and took his extra set of keys also.
Anyhow his car is in his garage. He has his licenses back but they are suspended until he gets his letter from the DMV to go take his written & driving test. And we have both sets of keys here at the house with us. He said that he was really confused and couldnt figure out why the bank wasnt opening there widows when it was almost noon. No not noon MIDNIGHT was more like it. So we sat there with him for quite awhile talking to him. I think we going to end up moving in with him to help him out. When we have tried to talk to him about it before. He wouldnt ever discuss it with us. Tonight he was pretty much all for it. So please keep us in your prayers. He has lived alone for over 10yrs. And I know haveing someone all of a sudden come in and be living there will be hard on both partys. Pray that everything works out and that this will be a smooth transion for us all. It looks like he might lose his drivers licenses all together. And for 84yrs old that will be a hard pill to swallow.
Good Night everyone. I am headed off to la la la la la la land!!!
Love ya
Melissa
Melissa I will sure keep you in my prayers. My wife and I had to move her father in with us about 7 yrs ago. My mother in law died 4 yrs before that and he lived by himself and all but his health was declining so we moved him in with us, he was 72 at the time. He has dementia and another thing that causes fluid build up on the brain so they've put a shunt in to keep that drained but anyway, it was hard, really hard for awhile. All in all it worked out, my wife and I had to keep asking God to help us. Now 2 yrs ago his health declined that we could not take care of him in our home. He kept falling and wondering off so we ended up putting him in a really nice nursing home, my wife worked there at the time so she saw him everyday and all. She doesnt work there now but we visit him a couple times a week and actually he loves it there. He loves the activities and stuff they do, he's made so many friends. It was so hard moving him to the home, we cried for days but once we realized he was doing so much better and getting the care he needed it was all good. Anyway, I say all that to say I'll keep ya in my prayers, its a hard step having to move in with a parent to help take care of them but just know God is on your side and will give you the strength you need.
God Bless,
Andrew
Good Morning Jan and Every One
Jan I am so glad you are doing so well. I was pretty tired after my surgery for about the first week to two weeks. Then all of the sudden it was like I wa**** with too much energy. LOL And if the same happens to you just remember not to over do it.
Melissa I'm so sorry to hear about your father-in-law. But I understand what you are going through. My sister-in-law and her family are living with my father-in-law. He's a great guy but sometimes he needs a little help, and they needed a place to stay a couple years back so he let them move in and they just stayed. How's your hernia doing? I think mine is getting a little bigger but it only hurts some times.
Well we got some rain this morning already. Yep when I was out on my morning walk it started pouring. When I got home I was soaked, and my DH asked why I didn't just come back sooner. I said a little rain didn't hurt me and I need a shower anyway so it just won't take as long to wet myself down. LOL I finished my usual walk and I'm glad I did.
Well I need to go get ready for Church as I told both of my DD's that we would go to the early service today.
Hope everyone is doing great. Take care all of you. And May God Bless Each and Every One of You and Your Families Too.

Gooood Morning Everyone
Jan it's so good that your doing so well. After all that time of waiting and wondering and worrying and thinking and wondering and seeing others get there your finally there and crossed over to the other side. God is so goood eh? It's been a busy last few days for me but good. Had some company come from outta town unexpectedly so I been visiting most the weekend. They are gone now and Im going to enjoy the peacefulness of a sunday morning. It's pretty muggy outside and feels like it might just rain finally, I sure hope so, we need it so bad.
Jan I dont know if you'll like Elephant rocks anymore
They've really gone sophisticated on us. We spent the day there yesturday just having a picnic and visiting and sorts and had to use the restroom. I went to look for the "out house" type building and seen it was bigger. Went inside it and would you believe that had PLUMBING type restrooms, sheeeeeeesh. RUNNING water and FLUSHING toilets. Sheeeeeeeesh how could they get rid of those smelly out houses on us
LOLOL So now when you bring your husband down to visit they'll be some high class state park restrooms there LOL
Sherr I know how ya feel having that sleep test, I've had that done 3 times in the last 6 years. I've had sleep apnea for awhile now. I never have understood how they can tell anything cuz ya hardly sleep during the friggin test and all. Your all wired up like a robot and cant even move. Usually i try to sleep on my side but end up pulling a wire off then they wake ya up to put the wire on sheeeeesh. Glad ya stayed tho since your insurance requires it. You'll be glad ya did once ya get ya date and all.
Melissa I do believe your right about Craig, I had forgot about sponge bob spliting his britches like that LOL My wife thought I was crazy the other day, I found me some sponge bob shorts, size 44, of course I cant even get one leg in them now but I will. I bought them and have them hanging on my bedroom door to remind me that soon soon soon I will be wearing them. She says she wont go out with me wearing them tho LOL
Craig sure hope your feeling better and getting along good. Soooo glad to see your dreams getting closer to reality. I worked at nursing homes for the last 15 years, well the last 3 yrs i been on disability but while working at the nursing homes I so felt a calling there to work with the elderly and have thought for the last year or so if I could get this weight off I'd check into nursing school and see what it all involved. I worked as a floor person buffing and cleaning and was a supervisor over housekeeping but for once in my life I want a career and thought maybe im not to old to go into nursing so I dunno we'll see what God has in store for me after the wls but i know i've sure got the desire.
Well anyway, im gonna go enjoy some quiet time. I gotta make some sausage gravy and biscuits for church this morning, ugh lol pray i dont eat any!!
Hope everyone has a wonderful sunday. God is SOOOO Good!!
God BLess ya's
Andrew

Good Morning All! It just hit me that I only have one more Sunday morning to wake up pre-surgery. Yea!! Pre-op liquid diet continues to go fine -- when I went to the fundraiser coffee yesterday morning (which was quite successful, Jan!) I only drank coffee, decaf at that -- the buffet looked delicious but I just stayed out of dining room where it was arrayed. The to-do was at a good friends' house, the man was my first employer out of school and is like a father-figure to me.
I love you guys that are in health care having an interest in eldercare. My mom is in assisted living/nursing facilty in Columbia, and her caregivers are fabulous -- we really lucked out getting her in there, and I can just imagine you guys being just those kind of caregivers. Before my dad passed away this spring, he had to spend some time in a nursing home rehab unit in between hospital stays -- we had him at what is generally considered the top of the heap in Columbia, and all I can say is that it was appalling -- I guess my issue there was more with administrators/physical therapists/occupational therapists, but the bottom line was that if you were a square peg and your needs didn't fit into their round hole, take a hike.
I too think we'll hit early church today -- my husband travels fairly often for his job, and he leaves around noon today for New York. He'll be back Wednesday night, then I'll do day trip to Columbia on Thursday for my pre-op appointment with Dr. Scott.
Enjoy the day everyone!

HI ANGIE...
I think I haven't met you before! GOOOO ANG...tomorrow...WOW
Lucky, LUCK...I can't believe I will miss you by one day..RATZ...
You are lucky you don't have to try to find a safe, decent hotel...I will have stayed at three by the time I leave here on Wed. Morning....
I have been using "DAY's INN" last time and this time for the first week...
Then had booked thru hotwire, and got the Regency, and I was totally freaked out....BUT, I LOVE IT...It's an older hotel...(((no kidding, you should see the pic)))) but the staff is nice, it is easy to move around, and it's in the middle all kinds of kewl shops.
I just went out to Panera and got Tuna sandwich, Tuscan Veg. Soup and it came w/ a tiny Fuji Apple....
YUM
The WILD thing about the sleep test...I DON'T have issues with needing a CPAP...no snoring, no stop breating...I just didn't understand what the deal was...
Between the WLS Journey and other "various personal" issues....I am just exhausted......Think I may take a rest....
Busy next 2 days
So everyone be safe and careful!
