I haven't been on the boards lately but stop in for a quick glance on occasion. Ibelieve our fellowship helps to keep me focused....I went for my 6 month checkup. Since my surgery on Feb 8th, I have lost 100 pounds! I lost 18 before the surgery. Now, the bad news - I 've got another 100 pounds to go. I am so scared sitting here at the midpoint that I am going to lose the magic and be right back where I started from....only know can I check a few items off of my "want to have the surgery so I can do....." list. I can now cross my legs, I can now buy jeans off the rack at Walmart, I can now sit in chairs in the cafeteria without the arms digging in..... Halfway is halfway to goal and halfway back.......I am standing on the cliff. Tracey, your words of faith and inspiration help me to believe that a power greater than myself can help me stay the course. I don't easily admit that but I am starting to believe. Heartfelt thanks to all of you on this journey or beginning this journey. Let's all get there..... humbly.

Wow, Magee, 100 pounds, that's amazing. I'm so proud of you. You will get the rest of that weight off, I just know it. We'll all be cheering and praying for you and I know you can do it. We are a pretty faith filled bunch but please don't be put off by that. It's what we have found that works for us, give it a try if you can. The blessings you'll receive will amaze you. In the meantime, know that you're in our hearts and prayers. Hugs and love and blessings to you. Lana

I know exactly how you feel. I have lost 174 lbs. I have another 30-50 lbs I'd like to lose. It will soon be two years since surgery and I'm still losing about 5-7 lbs per month. Since the start of summer I have lost around 20-25 lbs. If you just keep on the program and stay away from sweets and keep exercising, it'll keep coming off. I had never lost more than 100 lbs before and had always gained it back after losing 100 lbs. That's why 100 was a hold your breath time for me. I'd lost 100 lbs on Atkins and on Diet Center only to gain it back. So, after I got past 100 lbs lost I felt much better. And it just kept coming off. I mean, remember what you used to eat pre-surgery? I eat so much less now and such a different combination of foods. One thing I've learned recently is to really increase my fruits and vegetables. If I'm hungry I eat a fruit. That really keeps me from snacking on chips or something bad like that. It also keeps me from even wanting to try something sweet which always gets me in trouble with some aspect of dumping or just feeling sick. When I eat out, I try to talk myself into a salad. A salad with fruit such as Bob Evans country spinach salad or Wendy's salad that has mandarin oranges are two of my favorites. It just makes the salad think more fun. Fruits and vegetables are really good for you and help you get those vitamins your body really need. It seems most dietitians emphasize the protein, but I do get in my protein I just wasn't eating many fruits and vegetables. If I eat them first I find I can eat them and some proteins as well and I feel much better. It helps with constipation as well which was a big problem for me. I try to get to Curves three times a week, as well. Don't worry, you'll get there. Patience and steady on the course!

so very happy to see your post and missed you on the board. Congradulations on your weight loss. It slows down but keep doing what you have been doing. I am at a standstill with 76 off and have 21 more to go and it is very slow. I have decided to do more exercise and see what happens. I feel like a new person. In addition to the 21 I would like to lose another 3 to make it to the Century Club. I guess I was a lightweight but boy have those lost pounds made a difference in my feeling good and being able to do things. Keep in touch. Colette
