FRIDAY WHATS HAPPENING!!!!
Friday once more. Seems like this week went by fast. I guess because of my being in surgery and in the hospital. I got out yesterday morning early while it was really cool and beautiful and walked all over our 2 acres of gardens, and pathways. Wanted to get into the dirt and start digging but thought I might be pushing it a little. So see I do know enough to take care of myself. Lol
Got several phone calls this morning from friends who knew that I should be home this morning to see how I was doing. They all had to tell me to not overdo as they all know me too well I guess. Oh well I cant help it I have never been one to like to sit when I didn't have to. I like doing things.
So glad that Brenda has gotten done with her surgery and she is doing well. Another on the losing side now. Wont be long for the rest of you .
My niece called me this morning to tell me that she had just dropped her daughter off for the first day of kindergarten this morning. She said it made her feel old to be putting her baby in school. But I said well you have another one coming along so it wont be quite as bad.
David: great to see you posting. Yeah I wasn't worried I figured like that it was a win-win situation. And like you when I woke up and realized I wasn't in heaven it was almost a disappointment. Lol
I am trying to be good so I can be skinny.
Colette: thanks so much for all you did while I was gone. Thanks for the basket of goodies you gave me in the hospital. I just finally got to go thru them this morning. Love the lotion too. Yes let me know who all you have on the calendar for Sept. I know there are some that are on the Missouri board that are due. But we aren't thru with August yet. We will have Lucky and maybe Sherr before the month is over. Wouldn't that be great. Any others that post on here. I know there are some more posted on Dr. H. message board. But don't know some of the people. Wish all would post on the Mo. Board. Love meeting new and different people. Oh yeah I was already checked out of the hospital yesterday but called Brenda's cell phone and found out she was only about 30 minutes away so we sit and waited for her and Dennis to get there. Very glad we did. Nice people.
Sky: how lovely it was to meet you too. After all this time of talking to you. Love the earrings. Have a pair of them on right now. They are so light they don't hurt a bit. Lovely.
Andrew: wow you went and got a surgery date huh? Great. November 14th will be here before you know it too. I am doing almost 100% maybe more like 90% but am doing well . I am taking my time in getting to do things. I wanted to start dragging the water hose around this morning but decided I might not ought to do that yet. I think my hubby would have kicked my a__ for that.
Yes it is wonderful to have a group of friends on here like we all have and that they all care so very much about you. I love each and everyone of you whether you post every day or once a month. You are still family.
Linda: yes the ride seemed like it would never end but we stopped every 45 minutes and got out and walked. But by the time we were home my legs were swollen and I was so tired. Well did you get to have the mashed tators yesterday? How much did you lose. Anxious to hear. I wish there was something I could do to get this water off my body but Dr. H. said absolutely no fluid pills for awhile. He said it was ok to take H.b. pressure meds but only that one , crushed. Oh forgot to tell you thanks for visiting me in hospital. Love you girl.
Melissa: great to talk to you while I was in the hospital. Did a great job being Brenda's angel. I am doing my best to sip, sip and sip and am walking around a lot. I have a cough that I'm getting a little concerned about but nothing too bad yet. Will keep track of my temp.
Debbie Murdock: lol had to laugh at your cute post you did. I got rather confused at times with all the pictures but finally figured it all out. Keep praying for me as I am sure I always need it for something. Lol. Love you girl.
Barbara T: hello woman. So glad that Im not the only person that wants to do something. I feel so bored. Like I should be doing something other than sitting around.
Craig: thanks buddy for posting my arrival. That was so cute. I loved it. Thank you bunches. Also just got around to reading some of the post while I was gone and had to laugh about you losing your shorts. How funny. Like pixielf said you need to buy belts maybe lol.
Jennifer, Jean, Tressia, Yes we are family here and each new member who comes onto the board is like a new addition to our family. We love all the new ones. I know you all have posted before but jump in and let us really get to know you .
Tracey : glad you are back on the board some. You must have finished another book and waiting for new inspiration? Lol
Love to talk to you .
Elizabeth: love the recipe have copied it off so I can have it later. Cant do it right now but will try it when I can.
Angela Sticht: glad to see you on here again. Hope life is treating you well.
Wayne : wow what a weight loss . You really need new pictures. Sorry about the loss of your dad. I know that isn't easy.
Glad to hear you have a new job too.
Terry McEnulty: welcome to the board. The only doctor I know of around that is able to do Medicare is Dr. Hornbostel in Sedalia. Welcome again. Look forward to hearing from you again.
Lucky: great about your surgery date. That isn't too far off. Just a couple of weeks.
Sherr: doesn't look like you will be far behind.
Tami: I for one will miss you at the meetings. What in the world was the cause for someone to be complaining .
Has there ever been a problem between you and anyone there? I just don't understand.
Looking forward to the meeting in Sept. what was this I read about spouses not being allowed? What was that about? Why not? I cant drive at night so I wont be able to come unless my hubby brings me and it isn't nice to have him just sit out in the parking lot while I am in the meeting. Who thought this up?
LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS

Good Morning Jan and Every One Else
Jan I am glad you like the earrings. And I wish I could meet all of you on this board. You are the most awesome group of people I have ever had the pleaser to chat with.
It's great to see you back up and posting Jan.
I am just waiting for the sun to come up so I can take my morning walk.
I'm sorry I can't name you all like Jan does but like I always say; She is one very special lady. Well you all take care of yourself and try and behave. LOL
May God Bless Each and Every One of You and Your Families Too.

Jan...
Glad to see you back on the boards. Congratulations on the successful surgery!... and hang on to that recipe... it IS a good one... yummy!
As for the brouhaha.... this isn't about the regular meetings where everyone can attend. It is about their meetings that they call the next level or something of the sort. For folks that are postop over a year.
There were people that stated they wanted their family members to be able to attend I.E. spouses mostly as they are with us through thick and thin and they ARE our main support and they need to be in on the "ride" so to speak. As it is a well know FACT that divorce is rampant in post WLS patients. So it would seem not only feasible but WISE to have them in ....
These people were told in no uncertain terms that it would not be allowed. Actually it wasn't even put that nicely. I won't go into details any further.
Support groups need to be just that. Support groups. You need to reflect the needs of the people that you are trying to help and when you exclude them you are not sending a good message out to the public. I believe that this is going to have a very negative effect on them in the longterm. Very foolish on their part.
Glad to see you back on the board!

Glad you are doing so good Jan. I started work again Thursday and I am doing pretty good. I only work about six hours and it is not too hard just deliveing pizzas for Pizza hut. They have lots of inside help and about all I do is deliver , I dont have to do too much inside work which is nice and they are real nice to me.
Hi Jan, Glad you made it home OK, but I thought about you and that ride often. Sure hope the swelling goes away quickly. I saw Dr. H yesterday and he said I was doing great. He told me that my liver looked fine and to go ahead to stage 2. So the first thing I did was come home and try the ON 100% Whey Gold Standard Rocky Road in some skim milk. It tasted heavenly
. I had no problems at all. So, when Rick got off work he told me he'd take me out to dinner--yea, mashed potatoes! We went to Perkins and he ordered a meal and told them to give me the potatoes and gravy. I in turn gave him back 2/3 of the potatoes, gave my doggy a little container full, and ate about 2 T myself. It took me a whole lot longer to eat my potatoes than it took him to eat a whole meal! The waitress we had said her Mom had the surgery about 2 years ago and she understood that I couldn't eat much and that I needed to eat slowly. She kept coming back and asking how I was enjoying the taste. She was so cute. We went grocery shopping and stocked up on things from stage 2 for me to try at different times. I can't believe how little it takes to stuff me. I don't even mind the super small bites. Now, for the big news--drum roll--I lost 15 pounds. That is 15 down from my weight before surgery. But I also lost all tha****er, too. That doesn't count; I'm just glad it's gone. I thought that was pretty good. Now, when I start Curves again on the 28th, I hope to start seeing some major weight drops. I can hardly wait. While I was in Dr. H's office, I met a woman who was 4 years out--man, she looked HOT! She was cute, blonde, and oh so thin. You would never have guessed she was a WLS patient. She looked so good. I'm not quite sure how much she has lost, but I think she said 168 pounds. She was awesome, though. Better get to work. Need to move around and not sit at this computer too much. Have a great day. I'm going in to the hospital to see Brenda in a little bit so I'll let you know how she's doing this a.m. God's blessing to all...Love, Linda

Pull out your DON'T OVERDO BUTTON it's still a little early yet, I know how you feel about your garden but take it a little slow
I'm enjoying the Stage 2 eating plan too guess I'll try some mash tators today you all make them sound so good
I'm asking for all your prayers, a very good and long time friend of mine passed away tis past Monday after a very long illness and it was expected but it still hurts like crazy because she was one of those unforgettable people so I solicit your prayers. Jan and all the Missouri Board family,
I am so glad to see all of you up and posting. I love each of you and miss you when I can't get on the board. It's super busy at the University at this time of year so if I'm not on the board, that's why. I do think of you and pray for you continually. I think the power of this board is in the way people pray for each other. And the acceptance is pretty amazing too. Glad to have you back at the helm, Jan.
Hugs and love,
Lana
Morning Jan and everyone.
Jan, you are doing SO WELL with your post op recovery! I was a big whiney baby for a whole week.
I did turn in a book three weeks ago, but the surgery in Feb. really threw me for a loop and I didn't bounce back as quickly as I thought, so I got way behind on my schedule, so I had to write my last book in three weeks. I'm actually just finishing it up. I have contracts through the end of 2007, so I have lots of books lined up.
I always have ideas. that's just the nature of being a writer.
Craig, saw your other post. Listen buddy, I'm praying for you. Your blurred vision concerns me. Are you diabetic? I wonder if your insulin is too much now that you've lost weight? Just kicking around possible ideas. Let us know what the doc says.
Everyone have a great weekend. Today is my 37th birthday. I'm writing like crazy, but plan to take the next two weeks totally off!!! whoo hoo.
god bless
Tracey B
