THURSDAY WHATS HAPPENING

Good morning everyone!! I got home yesterday afternoon about 6pm but was just too tired to get on and post anything. I am doing wonderfullly just tired right now. We had to drive almost 4 hours home and with stopping every once in awhile to let me walk and move around it made it even longer. My surgery was normal. I think Dr. Hornbostel said that if all went very easy and well , no complications. I know that if it wasnt for the little stap wounds on my tummy i wouldnt know that i had had surgery. I was pretty grogggy and miserable on Monday but had my last pain meds on Tuesfay before i went down for my leak test. Which i passed by the way. ,easiest test i ever took. When i got back to the room they disconnected the foley,which i was thrilled about. and i stipped using the O2 on my own. ,never had an ng tube like they said i might have. didnt need it i guess. anyway. Never needed the shots or liquid pain meds after that. My tummy only felt a llittle sore and nothing bad. When i got home this afternoon i lay down in bed , flat and on my sides but when i lay flat i start coughing some so i decided to prop myself up a little until i gue the rest of the gunk out of my lungs. How can i ever thank all of you enough for all the lovely emails and posts wishing me well. I know it was all of your prayers that made the difference. When I went into surgery I was totally and completly calm. Not afraid or even excited. I was so calm and completly at ease. I know it had to be all of your prayers. I Have started looking at all of the things that have been going on in the last few days. and I am wiped out about how much has happened. Andrew and Lukcy and Sherr all have surgery dates? wow. how amazing. I am so trhilled for you and all i can wish for anyone whe is going to have it done that you have no more problmes than i have had so far. I knew when i went in that either i would be alright or would die and go to heaven, so when i was coming to i opened one eye to see where i was and realized that it sure wasnt heaven. LOL I think i was disapointed but not sure right now. I got to meet Marge adn Dena, both are lovely young women. Also met Jennifer the patient cordinator at the hospital, She said she had been watching my post daily . So if you all are out there and reading. Hi to you all too. As well as Doctor Hornbostel., only the worlds greatest surgeon. Want to welcome all the new people that have gotten on here. And tell you that there isnt a better bunch anywhere than on this forum. I know i am on several other ones and there is bickering and fighting on most of them after awhile. Colette thank you for posting for me while i was gone and i think you did a great job. Also thanks for coming to visit me. Also Sky, Linda and Brenda for coming to visit. it was so nice to meet and hugs each one of you. Craig thanks for keeping check on me in the hospital and reporting it on here. Way to go Buddy, Melissa, thanks for the phone calls, as well as Barbara called too , I know someone else called and i am very very sorry if i forgot you. I had so many phone calls from family and friends as well I know i have forgotten someone , if i forgot you please dont be upset my brain is still a little foggy from the meds.Seems like everyone in Sedalia connected with the hospital and Dr. Hornbostels office all read the post on here . lol they all seemed to know me. I thought that was funny. Forgive me if this has mispelled words in it this morning. I am going to blame the fact that i just had surgery on that. lol I had lost 13 pounds when i went for surgery , dont know what i weight now but no it is more. My ring wont go onto my finger right now. and my feet feel really swollen. But i know that will all go down in a while . I have an appointment back with Dr. H. on the 24th . so will be on clear liquids until tuesday the 22nd. Marge told me i could go on them on tuesday since i wont be able to get to see him till the 24th. So hopefully i will have lost what ever i gained during surgery and be back down to what i was. lol Brenday you are getting ready tonight for your surgery in the morning . We will all be waithing for Melissa to post on here about you. We are going to hold you to that about comong over to one of our meetings in Springfield after you have surgery and it cools off some. And like i told you , you can stay all night in our guest cottage when you come over for that. We would love it. Well Im going to get off of here and try for a little more sleep . Glad you came through like a champ. You had the same attitude I did. You either would be ok or would be in heaven and it is win win either way for you. When I woke up in pain I knew I was not in heaven I guess you did too. It gets easier day after day. Get some rest and be a good girl soon you will be a skinny girl.

Yeh!!! Our captain is back. Welcome Jan!!! I was thinking of you and the long ride back that you had. So very happy that it is all over for you. This morning we are praying for another special person, Brenda. So glad you got to meet her. I am going to try and get to see her Friday nite. It has been hectic at work this week, with my boss having to go in for emergency cardiac stress testing because of jaw pain. So I am sorta holding down the place for a few days. thought I would post before I get ready to go. Please take it easy now and dont go outside digging in the dirt yet. LOL. It is a lovely cool morning outside today. But I am sure it will get hot too. Bet Joe was glad to get home. Tell him hello. To the rest of everyone on here, thank you for letting me keep the thread going while Jan was gone. You are all a bunch of great people. Everyone keep up the good work. I really enjoyed meeting you and wish I could have stayed a little longer but I had a big list of things to do while I was in Sedalia. And Welcome To the Losers Bench!! Now from here on out things just get better Yes yesssss I got my surgery date November 14 I know its a few months away but Im just so excited It's even the same date as Colettes surgery, now her and I can have a party at the hospital LoL Lawd I hope that hospital knows what they are getting into letting be there for surgery Jan hope you just take it easy and recoup quick, we sure missed ya. Glad to see you made it home OK. That ride had to feel like it was going on forever. So happy that you're pain free, but remember don't get too frisky and over do it! LOL My husband looked at me this a.m. and asked if my pants were getting bigger?! I told him I didn't know, that I was still upset over the 30 pounds of liquid I gained while in the hospital. He told me well it looked like it cause they were bagging in the butt and they didn't use to do that! Guess I'd better start paying attention or I'll be standing around looking like Craig! Today's my post-op appointment with Dr. H. I have a 1:15 appointment and then, like Craig, I'm having some mashed taters and gravy. Well, Well, Well...bout time you show'd up! You know how long I have been pacing this computer, worried about you, waiting for a post? I have been and and I I went and took a I even tried nothing worked! I tried everything I got worried and even started to So I got back on here and ..no, no, no...that was Andrew! I tried to and but I got so worried I almost went back to but I didn't soooooo to make a long story short I again and then I got my God gun out and started all the stuff away ...lol Whewww, soooooo glad you are home and doing fine. I was starting to worry. Now it's time to and I'm so glad tou are Love you and still for a fast recovery Deb

Hey Jan Good morning, glad to see you back home and doing well, even up posting Happy that everything went as well as expected, we all were in very good hands, God's first and Dr. H. also. I've been trying to find my "Don't overdo button" and trying to get some rest , so I'm passing that to you and yes you too Linda I feel so good I have the tendency to overdo, and like Melissa said sip sip, sip, . Colette did a great job in your stead Craig was awesome with his announcement of your arrival to the Loser's bench and keeping us informed about you. Jan, Collette did a fabulous job keeping us together while you were gone but darn we missed you. So glad everything went well. Know you'll have some not so good days but that in the end the result will be soooo worth any inconvenience and discomfort. Classes start Monday at SMS so I'm super busy so if I'm not on the board some days don't worry, I'm just swamped and really tired. I went to the gym tonight after work and couldn't believe I made it there. I was really tired. Now, it's time to get showered and hit the bed and get ready to go again tomorrow.
