Sorry about getting graphic here but I need to know answers...if you have them! ALL QUESTIONS ARE PRE-SURGERY!...Thanx Has anyone ever had the "dumping syndrome" pre-surgery? Anyone ever aspirate (take food into brochcial tube or lungs) while eating but able to cough it back up? Find that swallowing got difficult?...not all the time though. Almost feels like throat closing up, especially if I turn my head while chewing and/or swallowing? Could it just be from me being too fat? Could it go away after surgery? Thyroid was checked and is okay! Anyone ever throw up after taking pills in the am? I find that if I take my meds. and I take a lot, early in the am and lay back down that sometimes, not always, I get sick...(sorry for the REAL graphic here)...usually I don't see any pills in it and usually it's just bile or frothy. I got sick this morning but had substance, not fluidly. Not poopin significanly either...could that be the reason for any of it? I'm drinking water like it's going out of style and have been all week ....so can't be lack of fluids? (I'm a diabetic, type 2 for 2+ years but numbers are good) Help, if you can...not looking for medical advice, just if my friends have had any of this I would like to know what their experience was. Thanx in adavnce, Deb

Has anyone ever had the "dumping syndrome" pre-surgery? Yep, I had it pre-surgery. Haven't since surgery though...... Anyone ever throw up after taking pills in the am? Yep, I found that laying back down after taking them was a NO-NO for me. I even had to take some of them with foods. Have your pharmacist take a look at all of the meds you take and advise when is best to take them and with/without foods. They may even be not good to take all together-may be fighting with each other. Maybe try some gentle stuff like Milk of Magnesia to help the elimination issue. Ya might check in with a nurse practioner about erping bile or frothy fluid. Maybe an issue separate from the meds like gallbladder. Hey, some good news...I am 4th week post op diabetic, and my numbers are in the 120's without any meds. Yet another reason to be happy about wls!!! Good luck! ~Diana

Congrats on the no meds for diabetes after surgery...heck, congrats on your surgery too!! Yep on the MOM...keep it in the cabinet just try not to use it all the time...Thanx again for your help....Deb M

Deb.. Have you ever been checked for Reflux and/or a hiatal hernia? Alot of what you are describing could be linked to something like this. I would definitely get checked out by a dr. and see what they think though. Also is it possible to maybe take your pills a little at a time in the a.m. instead of having to take them all in one big sitting? Of course talk to your dr. about this as well. Always follow their advice. Best wishes and I hope that you feel better soon. Pixielf~
