wanting info about a sedalia mo support group.

I know there is one in Sedalia cause I have seen people posting on here about it. But there is also one in Springfield that is the 2nd Monday of every month at the St. Johns surgery Center. It is a GREAT bunch of people that attend it also. Unfortunatley due to prices of gas I was unable to attend this months meeting. But I will be there next month. It on the 4th floor I believe and from 5:30pm until 7pm. Hope to see you there.

Thanks for the information. My sister is having surgery at sedalia and lives in Hermitage. I was hopeing to find out something about the the support group there for her.. they will probably give her info but i guess i was wandering what their fomat was.I know gas is an issue with her too it is so far to drive to springfield.
I have been going to the support group at springfield for two years and have really enjoyed it. I am torn now. I don't know what I will do. I really like Dr. Hodges I don't want to lose him as a doctor. he did my hernia repair and panniculectomy.He also saved my sisters life. but I went to the support meeting tonight and I guess they have sent certified letters to some people that come to the support group and told them not to come back or they will be escorted out by the security guards. They said they had disagreed with the format of the group. ?????????????wow that is scary that you can go to a open forum and talk about your opinion and then be told not to come back.i know the main issue was the next level group was for patients only and not spouses and they did not agree with that so they were not coming back.But I thought that was all over. I am going back to school and won't be able to attend due to a schedule conflict during this semester. I will have to get my support on this site.

The support group is the first Tuesday nite at 600pm at the hospital. It used to be on Wednesday nite but since the Lenten season, it got switched to Tues. nite. I have not attended the last 2 due to obligations at home. They will tell your sister about the time. They have had a lot of good speakers at the meetings. Hope this helps. Colette

I think Dr. Hornbostel is tops in my book, otherwise I would not recommend him to everyone. In fact if he reads this, I am going to tease him about my commission check. LOL. I have recommended a lot of people to him. The support groups I have attended are good. I have missed 2 recently but at the one we had a dietician speak on the importance of correct eating, and at one they had the physical therapist and they used the big exercise balls to demonstrate all the techniques of exercising. I would like to find one closer to home as I dont like to always drive alone. Hope this helps. Colette

The support meetings are one the 2nd Tuesday of the month, not the 1st. And we sure have missed you at them. The meeting we had this month we had a plastic surgeon there talking to us about reconstructive surgery. Anyway the meetings are at the hospital on the 3rd floor in the classrooms.

The support group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. on the 3rd floor of Bothwell Regional Health Center. Dr. Hornbostel's seminar for WLS meets the 1st Tuesday of each month in the same place and at the same time, I believe. But we all gather for support on the 2nd Tuesday. Hope to see you there.
