New Here...Wnat to Introduce Myself

Hi everybody, I am soooo excited to have found this site. I am looking into the lap band procedure. I have medicare so it is very difficult to find a place and a surgeon to do this. I think I have found them though. I sure hope so because I am at the end of my rope. I am 42 yrs old/f/ and weigh 297 lbs. I absolutely hate myself right now. My health is being affected and I am so over feeling this bad. It is good to have other people who are in the same boat to go through this with. I need all the support I can get. I also am excited about giving support. Thank you all in advance just for being here. Terry

Hello Terry Welcome to the MO board. Dr. Hornbostel does the lap band and he takes Medicare. He is out of Sedalia and the hospital there has the COE already. But he is a very busy Dr. and is booked up for a few months, but if you go to his pre surgery seminar you will find he is a very good Dr. and he really cares a lot about his patents. I think he is a very awesome Dr. I understand what you are saying about your health. I am 44 and was 330-pre surgery. I am down 65 to 70lbs and I am feeling great. I didn't think I would every feel this good again. But God is great and he has a plan for all of us and I am so thankful he put Dr. H in my plan. I will add you to my prayer list and I hope you continue to post on the board. It's great seeing new people here getting to watch them get their dreams come true. It is just totally awesome. Terry Welcome to the Missouri Board. We are all so glad to have you posting here. We are were and some still are at the point where you are now. So if you ever have any question please give a shout out. And someone will answer to the best of there knowledge or experience. I have heard alot of good thing about Dr. H. Welcome to our happy family on the board Terry...We have a great time here...We will pray that you find a Dr. Like Sky said Dr. Hornbostel is a great Dr. Bothwell Hospital is the only one in Missouri that I know of that accepts Medicare..It is board Certified of Excellence........Craig Lee

Welcome to the board Terry!!...it's a great place to hang out! There is tons of support and information from the folks on here...oops, no pun intended! A lot of us are going to Dr. Hornbostel in Sedalia and having the surgery done at Bothwell Hospital. He takes Medicare and the hospital is a Center of Excellence, so no problem there.
