Any KC Support Groups or will I have to drive to Sedalia each month?

Hi, my surgery is coming up on the 24th and I go for my assessment this Thursday. I was just wondering if there were any KC Support Groups that I could attend rather than driving all the way to Sedalia each month? Or even maybe attend one in KC one month and one in Sedalia the next. It's about 1 hr. and 45 min. for me to drive to Sedalia - one way. Has anyone else found a solution for this problem? Karen, I'm sure I've heard that there is one or more groups in the KC area. Someone will probably post an answer tomorrow. Lana

I've been looking for a support group outside of my hospital one for a looong time. Mine is only open to patient of my doctor. (WHom I love but I also need another gruop because of conflicting schedules sometimes. The only ones I have found are one up in St. Joesph, MO ( Wwwwaaaayyyy to far from Grandview!) and one at Truman Medical Center. But I don'e know the time to either. I had made contact with a lady here on OH who was being trained to lead support groups but haven't heard much back from her. I may just have to begin one myself!!

Hello Karen Melissa is right, ther is a Support Group on the 2nd Tuesday every month at Truman Medical Center Hospital Hill on 22nd and Charlotte Street at 4:30 PM. They have a very good support group, that's the one I will probably go to because I'm not sure if I'll be able to go to the one in Sedalia every month, so maybe I will switch up from time to time not sure right now though. Hope this info is helpful. The meetings are on the ground level of the hospital in Conference rooms 1,2,3, or 4 they'll let you know when you get there which room it's in. Barb T. in KC
