Debbie, Thank you for the link. The pictures were beautiful and the message was wonderful. I am brand new here and am also from Kansas City. I am looking into getting the lap band. I am going to call Dr. H's office tomorrow and go to the next seminar in Sept. I topo have medicare and have found that Sedalia is the closest hospital that will do the surgery. Good luck and I will be following your progress as well as posting mine. Terry

Your welcome on the link. I had forgot that I even had it until I was cleaning out my favorite sites and then realized why I kept it...to share it! Well, if your following my progress then I guess I don't have much to tell you, it's all on here or my profile...lol Most people on here are having the RNY and in my opinion, Dr. H. seems to lean towards that type of wls. He says he doesn't but he has heard that some people on here seem to think he does....hmmm That's why I said "in my opinion"....lol By the way, be careful what you say on here, I hear Dr H. and Dena read this forum...so I'm in big trouble...lol He does perform Lap Band Surgery and has performed, many! That is what I am choosing to have done. My pcp and back surgeon have recommended the Lap Band surgery for me. I'm not saying that the other types are bad, it's just for me, Lap Band sounds best. I haven't got to meet Dr H. one on one yet but that will happen August 30th. I hear he is a wonderful doctor and I liked what I saw and heard from him during the seminar. He is smart, competent and has a sense of humor....all the things I need and look for in my Dr's. One tip I can give you on the seminar..."GET THERE EARLY!" Like a half hour or better, trust me! It gets crowded fast so get in and get a seat and don't forget to sign in! His Nurse, Dena starts the seminar (at least the one I went to) but she doesn't stay for the whole thing and she takes the sign in sheets with her. You signing the sign in sheet is proof that you we're there for the seminar, which is mandantory! I didn't get to sign in even tho we got there early. Dena was already talking to people and giving info. so we hurried up, got chairs and sat down to listen (we didn't want to disrupt or miss a thing). They have a Q&A session after Dr H. is done and thats when I had to ask about the sign in sheet. I have sat here and watched several of my new friends go in have have their wls and they are all doing great!...Thank God, Dr H. and his staff! Check out the website...there are LOTS of things to read about and information that will help you with your decision! Good Luck and May God Bless you and yours, Deb
