URGENT - NEED ADVICE ON PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING

Hi, I talked to a Christian Psycholgist who I've had two appointments with over the past year. She is willing to do the psychological testing my insurance requires before they will consider approving wls. She wants me to take the MCMI. It's a pencil and paper test with 175 questions. She tried to explain it to me. I also did some research on the internet. By what I can tell it is basically a personality disorders test...to see if I'm depressed or suffer from any personality disorders. I'm wanting to know if any of you have or have had experience with this specific form of testing. Have any of you taken the MCMI? If so what was your experience with it? What type of psychological testing did you take? I could really use some assistance especially since I'm scheduled to take this test Monday at 11:00 a.m. Thanking you advance for your help! Debbie yes i took the MCMI , it is simple questions, just answer them truthfully.It doesnt hurt. they ask questions like have you ever thought of killing yourself. do you drink, ever been abused, all sort of things like that it is simple yes and no answers. nothing to worry about. then i had to take the stupid ink blot test and then we talked and that was it i think i cant remember anything else. Congradulations on getting an appointment with Dr. Hornbostel He is a great surgeon. oh yeah there was some other testing too to check your i.q. too. for got it. lol Jan

Hi Jan & Debbie, I had my appointment in Springfield yesterday for my psyche evaluation. The psychologist I went to just talked and ask a lot of questions for an hour (50 min.). Then she said she would recommend that I have the surgery and will write a letter to that effect. I hope it is enough. There was no testing or ink blots or anything. Do you think that is all I need? Hi, Jan: Thank you so much for your prompt reply! It really helps to know that others have taken this test. Made the appointment so fast because I really want to get all the requirements done before I go see Dr. Hornbostel. Have you had your surgery? If so, when and which one the RNY or the Lap Band. no i have my surgery this coming monday. and am having the lap rny. Dr. Hornbostel does both but i think he prefers the rny. but he wont make you have that if you really want the lap band. We are rooting you on. Jan
