RNY and Lap

I am just curious how many of us on the Missouri board are RNY and how many are LAP. Can you also put whether you have already had the procedure or if you are waiting. I am Leah, from SW Missouri. I am in the pre-op stages of the LAP band by Dr. Hodges. Thanks!

Leah, As you know I'm pre-op. I plan to have the RNY unless Dr. Hodges convinces me otherwise. Hugs, Lana

Hi, I'm Debbie, from the south side of KCMO. I plan on having the Lap Band when it's my turn. This is what my microsurgeon (back doc) and PCP have recommended for me. We will see what Dr. Hornbostel (wls doc in Sedalia) recommends when I see him since at the end of the month.

I am pre-op, my surgery will be August 17th. I will be having the RNY. Brenda

Leah, I am pre-op and had intended to have lap-band but after going to Dr. Hornbostel's seminar I am leaning toward RNY. Like Debbie says we will wait and see what the doctor recommends when I see him. Marilyn

Leah: I'm from Kansas City and will be having RNY by Dr. Steven Scott in Columbia. Don't have surgery date yet, but all pre-ops are now complete and insurance has approved -- just waiting to hear from MO Bariatrics for a date. Good luck to you!
