THURSDAY WHATS HAPPENING
Well today is suppose to cool down some. They were saying cold front .Ha!!! Im sure. We are going over to have son in law put new rotors on the front of our truck wheels. He is off on Thursday. I would rather pay him than pay a garage. Then tomorrow I am going in to the doctors office to give them a urine sample to see if all of this infection is gone. I sure hope so. I started my pre -op weight diet today. Oh wow not a lot of food. Lol but is more than I eat in some respects too. Just different. I usually eat more meat than that a day, I bought some of the best canned apricots yesterday sweetened with Splenda in a can and they are delicious.
Brenda: the church newspaper is quite an undertaking isn't it. I helped with that for Calvary in Republic one month lol and it was a job. Of course they have a membership of 1500 people and mail all of them the newspaper each month. Im trying to not turn yellow from being out in the heat. Lol even tho it feels like it might do that to you.
Debbie: You just reminded me of something with your post. And I talked to my hubby tonight about my teeth. Lol I told him that he was in special charge of them and to make sure they were there to put in my mouth as soon as I got back to my room lol What a thing to have to worry about . I wish I could afford to have them implanted . I don't think they would like for you to wear your makeup into surgery but as soon as I feel like it I will probably put some on. Makes a woman feel better. Lol Can remember those days of beans in kids noses and smashed fingers and cuts and bruises. Lots of silly stories that come from all of them.
Linda: they do have a diet cherry limeade? How great is that. Did you get one yesterday after exercising? May be the last one for awhile.
Andrew: my pre-op is this coming Monday the 7th...oh my gosh that is only 4 days away. Can you believe it now time is flying. Yeah I told Joe that the food we ordered from Angel Food will last him for probably 2 months since I wont be able to eat any of it . Lol you have your consult with dr. H . the day before Lindas surgery Barbara may still be at the hospital and you could say hi to her if you wanted too.
Melissa : I know you have already left and in Arkansas but hope the trip was uneventful. I know she didn't want to take her nephew home. But was anxious to see the new niece.
Barbara: Oh my gosh time is flying now isn't it. Don't you dare gain a pound. Oh wow I hope they don't tell me that , that is enough to make me go on a feeding frenzy. Lol
I weighed 254 when I was in the doctors office the other day I hope I don't get any heavier.
Have you not been on the pre op weight loss diet?
Lana: is there such a thing as lite coconut milk? Or fat free half and half lol sounds like an oxy-moron. Im sure the soup will blend up well
You should be on the same track as my sister for getting her surgery. Her 6 months is over about the end of November.
Benny so good to see you posting again. Everyone has been worrying about you.
Tressia: Good luck on finding out at your support meeting about your hospital. That will be so great wont it? Maybe Sept. ? wow
Colette: I know what you mean about the flowers and this heat. Some of mine look like they have been in the over all day. Did you see the things over on the right when you post and how to do them? Im not very good at explaining how you do things on a computer I just hunt around until I find what I want and do it.
Craig: how great is that that you can walk so well and can even bend over and pick up something without even thinking . Sounds like you are having some WOW moments.
My sister got onto OH and started a profile and was on here once . When she went to come back onto Oh she can get onto the main area but cant get to any of the forums . Any suggestions from anyone. She sent a thing into the tech dept and they sent her some info back to do but she still cant get on. Don't know why.
Well kiddos have a great day. Keep out of the heat. Drink your water and take your vits.
LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS
JAN
I went to the heart doc yesterday and he turned up my pacemaker from 60 beats a minute to 75 beats a minute and I do feel better. Maybe I will have a little energy for a change. I have been so darn tired and draggy kind of lethargic. I have been real pale and I do have a little pink color now so maybe it is helping. My heart doc is pretty smart. If I feel good I am going to the flea market in Springfield on I44. I think I will take the puppies with me. I still have six to sell and I need to sell them before I get too attatched. The longer I keep them the harder it is to let them go. The little stinker can even climb up on my bed now.
No, Jan, I didn't stop by Sonic and get my Diet Cherry Limeade. I was running late for my perm yesterday and had to pass right by Sonic without stopping. Oh well, maybe I'll treat myself today after I get finished with my pre-ops. I have to be at the hospital at 11:00 this morning. They told me to bring a snack because they didn't stop the tests for a lunch break! I'm taking a protein bar and some water to drink. That way, I can have the Limeade afterwards. Hey, I even shaved my legs for this thing today! LOL Cut them all to pieces, too! I am getting so excited that I can't sleep at night. When I do sleep, all I dream about is how skinny I'm going to be after the surgery. Well, not exactly right after, but in a few months! I did go buy a couple pair of pants to wear after surgery. They had them marked down at K-Mart. They are the stretchy kind that has elastic at the waist and won't bind. The only thing I had at home was sweats and it's too hot for those. These are light weight cotton and cool summer colors. I figure while I'm still heavy I'll hang them to dry. After I lose some weight, I'll dry them in the dryer and they'll shrink for me. LOL For around the house they should be OK. Better get to work. Talk to you after my pre-ops...Love & God's blessings to all....Linda
Good morning Jan and Everyone!
Yes I started the diet on the 24th of July however I still take 19 pills and 4 insulin shots a day, I am a walking pharmacy all by myself and I have to eat enough for that insulin so I only lost four pounds so far and I'm still on it and then Sunday the clear liquid diet all day, don't know how that's going to be with my insulin but I'll find out that's for sure Well gotta run, going to get my nails cut down they said they were too long which I don't think they are but I know they'll grow back sooooooooo they have to go lol
Everyone have a great day and God bless!

LOL Jan...I have had 8 surgeries and it use to be that I didn't have to worry about my teeth, make up and all that other "getting older" stuff. I could just wait up and look normal. Now I'm afraid I'll scare somebody!
That's good that you brought that up! I'm not sure if anybody will be there with me after surgery. I know my hubby would want to be there but sometimes with his job, he can't be. If he was there, he would help with my teeth...lol. My children, on the other hand would gag at the thought of having to touch them...lol
My pastor, an awesome man would do it if he had too but he is sooo grossed out by false teeth, it ain't even funny! He has a story and it goes something like this: he and his wife were having a dinner party, years back. One of the couples that was there were elderly and after dinner, right there at the table, the older man pulled his teeth out and began to lick them clean...lol Ever since them, Pastor Darren cannot stand to see people pull or put there teeth in, he has to look away ...lol So this might be funny...lol Bring the camcorder! NOT!!
If no one from my family is there, I will just ask one of the nurse's to give them to me. I have already told my hubby that it's okay if he can't be there. With as many surgeries as I have had, I'm kinda use to the scenario.
Hubby and I have already talked about it if something were to happen to me (God Forbid) while I'm in surgery. He knows how I feel, the kids know how I feel and if it's God's choice to take me home, I'm okay with that! I don't want to die but I can't live like this any longer, it's killing me, slowly! Dying in surgery (God Forbid) would just be a quicker way to go! It just means I get to see God sooner and my family members and friends that I haven't seen in years!
Besides, I have gave this to the Lord and I feel okay about going through with it. God has given me calming peace about it and I trust Him! Everything will be okay and I will be better than I have been in years! Teeth or no teeth!
Okay, moving on....I emailed Dena last night and asked if she got my paperwork from my PCP or others doctors and if there was anything else I needed to do. I feel like I should be doing something to get ready. I haven't heard back yet. I do need to go see my PCP to do a re-check on my sinuses and I may have a UTI from the antibiotics...bummer!
I'm also gonna be outside today, with the cooler weather I'm going out to tie up my tomato plants, their growing like weeds...lol I have been getting some good tomatoes off of them....Beefmasters, I think!
That's all for now...hope I didn't get too gloomy for you guys, please forgive me if I did! Love & Prayers for all...Deb
Hello to all on this day,
thought I would take a few minutes to say hello and gosh I am getting excited for all of you. Surgery is coming close. Clear liquid diet the day before is not bad. You can drink white grape juice, broth, diet soda(7up) , you can have coffee, tea, popsicles, and besides that. Once you drink that lovely ****tail, you wont be interesed in eating you will have other things of importance on your mind. LOL. Sorry, I had to make you all chucke. Just picked about 15 tomatoes out of my neighbors garden. She passed away and the family told us to please use the food so I am. We finally had some rain last night and everything sorta perked up some. It is amazing how rain works better than tap water. Everyone have a great day. colette
Jan and everyone,
Yes, Jan, there is fat free 1/2 and 1/2. It isn't bad either. I've tried it. And I've seen lite coconut milk so that would be better for us. I don't think I'd miss the shrimp too much. I just loved the squash flavored with the creamy sauce. You are gettin so close to your re-birthday. I remember when I first came on this board none of you had dates and now you have dates and they're almost here.
Craig, so glad to see you doing better
David, don't get too attached to those little babies. I'm afraid it will be too hot for you at the flea market.
To all the rest of you, peace and love. Gotta get to the gym.
