I'm taking a survey just for myself. Do you say Missourah or Missouree? Just wondering. Lana

Funny you ask. We were just having this discussion in the office this morning. We have decided the difference comes from what part of Missouri (Missoureee) you are from. Most of us from around St. Louis say "Missouree" and those close to Kansas City say "Missourah". Well, that is what the drs here have decided. So I say "Missouree". Shelley

My father's family is from Fredericktown...do you know anyone w/ the surname Francis? If so, odds are they are a cousin of mine And they all (including my daddy) said Missourah.

I'm from Kansas City, and we all say "Missoureeee." Could it be a southern/northern Missouri difference?

So good to see you posting, Craig. I'm born and raised up by St. Joseph and I've always said Missourah. People from other places I've lived think that is funny but it's what my parents said and they were raised there too. My best friend for almost 60 years and I grew up together, went 12 years of school together and she says Missouree so I still don't know. The dictionary says either way is correct. I looked it up ages ago to prove it to DH. He's from Brooklyn, NY and didn't know where Missouri was until he was 50. TeeHee Hugs and love Lana

I think there goes your theory Shelly, I say Missouree as do most people here in Sedalia, which is 60 miles from KC. I go to Kansas City a lot and almost always here Missouree.
