HELP ME
Hello everyone.. Im new at this, but I read the post every day... I could just cry when I hear everyone success stories.. Im a loser as well I had surgery on nov 9,2005 ive lost 96lbs so far... I guess thats good, at least thats what the nurse said.. Im reading post and other people lost more. I get kind of depressed when I hear that people lost more.. I know everyone is different.. Im probably eating more than I should.. But I feel great...Since im almost 9 months out, is their anyone out their who can eat quite a bit, but still not a whole meal.. Let me know, and I feel hungry quite often.. Why...What do you all think? Also the excess skin under my arm is driving me nuts.. Ive been doing arm excercises and walking any other suggestions to tone up that underarm flab... Thanks and God bless each of you.. Tanya
if you will eat your protein first that should help with the hungry feeling best and dont drink water or any other liquid with your meal. so you dont empty out your stomach too fast. I really cant say too much because im not post op yet but maybe go back and look at the pouch rules again and see what you are doing that doesnt agree with the rules. Will pray that you get over your hump and start losing again. You dont say what you weight now or how close to goal you are. Jan
Hi I havent had my WLS yet, but in the last 3 years I have watched 2 shows on TV that are reality shows, and they are called "I LOST IT" and "PLASTIC SURGERY BEFORE AND AFTER". According to what the doctors (plastic surgeons) say it is near to impossible to tighten up the skin on your upper arms, or wings, that you will have after weight loss surgery. This is not muscle it is only skin and when skin has been stretched to its limit by being overweight (depending on how long you have been overweight and how old you are) it has lost a big part of it's elasticity and will not shrink back. This also goes for your stomach and your thighes.
I am not trying to give you medical advice just letting you know what I know.
According to the post on this board on giving medical advice, we are not to do it, we should recomend you seek advice from your doctor. Hope this is informative to you.

Oh jesus, im scare of plastic surgey ...Lol. I need it through. My arms are ridiculous and my "lap belly".. Im constantly working out with weights every day and walking maybe 3-4xs aweek. I really need to increase the walking.. My dr states thats the best exercise to get it all off. Im 30 years old and ive been fat all my life..Lol so im sure I wont be able to tone the arms as much as I would like.. I just want to wear a sleeveless shirt one day and not have the folds on my arms.....Lol
Tanya, congratulations on having lost 96 pounds! I think that is awesome! From everything I've read and seen, you don't want to get any kind of plastic surgery done until after you've lost all your weight. If you do it too soon, you might have to redo it. That doesn't sound like a whole big lot of fun! I really think Jan is right. Eat your protein first, always. Then go for vegetables and do the carbs last. I'm pre-op, but I've been drinking the protein drinks and they seem to really fill me up and keep me from getting hungry for about 3 1/2 - 4 hours. But ask your doctor, he's/she's your best choice for advice. Good luck to you and again, congratulations on your weight loss! Linda
