TUESDAY WHATS HAPPENING
August O.M.G. can you believe it. I only have 13 more days . Im starting to panic , not scared just panic as in have I got everything done that I need to have done etc. Made a list yesterday of things to take to hospital with me. Started getting out of hand and had to stop and start over. I had enough stuff written down for a trip to the Caribbean. Lol. Put in a book but don't think I will feel much like reading but in case I do I will have something to read. Just a light Christian Romance type book. And my Bible.
Lotion, backscratcher, chapstick, face cleanser, face cream and mascara, and blush , deodorant, tooth brush and paste, shampoo, robe and slippers and pillow. Have I forgotten anything or put in too much? Girls that have been before let me know. Decided to go with the soft comfy robe I have instead of buying another one since wont be wearing this size much longer anyway.
At home I have a good supply of s.f.jello, s.f. Popsicles, chicken broth, tea,& crystal light, for the first week . After that I am hoping I will feel like shopping for other stuff. I have an appointment with hair dresser to have a hair cut done on the 11th so it will be nice an neat. And wont be long and nappy in the hospital. Am also getting a pedicure on that day so my feet and toes will be nice for awhile and I wont have to worry about them.
My right leg behind my knee is still painful . I sat about half the day yesterday with it elevated and a heating pan on it. Seems like the Devil is trying overtime to try and get me to not do this surgery . I don't know why he is coming after me so hard right now. But I am rebuking him right and left. Pray for me guys I need it .
Linda: are you getting excited wow you are closer than me and I know you are. You only have 9 days left. Hope all goes well with you during your surgery. We will all pray for each other.
Linda I hope you get that job that you are wanting. LOL I agree with you about Adam and Eve messing up and now we all need to wear clothes. Would have been nice wouldn't it? But a lot of things would have been nice if they hadn't messed up .
Andrew: after you talking about Angel food Ministries I went on line and found that the closest one to us is off of 248 in Branson and called them and ordered the monthly package and the steak package and the chicken package total of 70.00 for enough meat for the two of us for a month. Not bad. Have to mark it on my calendar so I can remember to go get it. Lol
Wonder what happens if a person doesn't show up to get theirs? Do they give it to a charity or what?
Im anxious for you to get your consult in and if you are like everyone else you should hear with in about a week or 10 days when your surgery will be. So by the 18th you should know when. I know you are excited. Hang in there it will seem like it is creeping but after a while it will fly.
Sherr: sorry to hear that you have the flu. Seems like we all are getting sick for some reason. I think we are all praising God so much that the Devil is mad at us lol
Hope you get to feeling better soon. Keep your strength up , drink plenty of juices and chicken boullion. And gator aide.
David : sure hope the heart doctor and the pacemaker guy can make you feel better. The next time that train comes by sidestep it. Sounds like you certainly have those puppies spoiled rotten. Gosh has it been six weeks ago that they were born? That doesn't seem possible.
Take care of yourself and get well.
Melissa: did you get ms. Buttons beautified? I use to have a ****er he was a beauty but he passed away early in life. Ran out in the road one day and got hit by a car. About broke my heart.
So when are you leaving to go visit your mom? Is she doing ok? Is she done with the chemo?
That meat loaf sounds so good. I love a good one.
Lana: That soup is really good isn't it? I wonder if after surgery I could make that with out the shrimp and cook the squash really really soft and have that like right after the clear liquid diet?
The only thing might be the half and half you think? I wonder what it would taste like with skim milk instead?
Yeah the watering the flowers for me is an all day every day job. And they still look wilted a lot. These temps are just cooking them.
I don't know what will happen to them while I am gone for surgery but I guess they will either survive or not. Nothing I can do about it.
Barbara: can you believe in 6 days...wow!!!! I will check on you that afternoon after I am done with pre ops. So pull thru good and be awake lol
I wonder if they have some of the older patients there for everyone to talk to ? I sure hope I get approved with all the problems I have been having lately. Im sure I will but .....
Lucky: Oh wow strep ?? That is too bad. Have you had your pre ops yet? When is your surgery? Im having trouble keeping eveyones dates straight right now I think I am trying to load too much in my head. Lol
Take care of yourself. Hope all of your problems go away soon. Will keep you in prayer.
Marcie: I know you all are getting excited about your trip. I know you would visit if you could, Just remember to pray for me that day.
Deanna: so glad that you have joined Curves. So how often are you going? And the swimming in the neighbors pool is a great way to exercise too.
Four hours you much have been a prune. Lol
Craig: buddy can you not sip a little broth , that will help with some strength. What about your water are you getting it all in and your vitamins.
I know I havent gotten there yet but I do know that all of that is important. Take care of yourself and get well. Are you about done with the antibiotics they had you on yet?
Jan...lol, you sound like my sister! She had her first and only child at the age of 42. Hubby and I had already raised ours and had started on grandbabies and I'm four years younger than her.
My comparison was when she talked about getting her bag ready for the hospital, she included her make up and I thought she must wanna look fixed up in the days that followed the birth...no, she wanted to look pretty for the pictures that would be taken after the baby was delivered. I laughed, having gave birth to 2 myself (1st-24hrs./2nd 36hrs.) and have held the hands of many others while babies were being born and none of them ever even thought of make up! Fashion queen that she is said "she wears it everyday and she wouldn't be without it the day of her daughter's birth."
Well, I was there as she gave birth to my beautiful little niece and running the camcorder as requested. I never saw one bit of make up on my sister but between us, with the faces she was making that day, make up WASN'T gonna help! LOL!! ( I love you sis!!)
You also sound a little like me. Every surgery I have ever had, it seems like I packed everything but the proverbial sink. I like being comfortable and part of ME being comfortable is knowing that I have a need for nothing while I'm in the hospital or away from home, period! Also, I hate having to ask my hubby "honey can you bring me this or that?" One thing I will suggest is: pillows! I don't know how Bothwell is but every hospital I have ever been to and I have been to plenty, not one of them had comfy pillows, I bring my own! My big kingsize fluffy pillow in it's big yellow flowery pillowcase and no one has ever said a thing about it (I believe it's because they know how uncomfortable theirs are). I don't blame them, people might want to stay longer if they get too comfy and we all know the insurance companies would HATE that!! Good Luck Jan and have a good day!
good morning everyone,
In for a quick post before going to work this morning. Watered the garden and flowers which are sad because we have not had rain in over 3 weeks here. So I got up early to do that. Jan your bags sound good. That is about what I took only I also had a camera that my daughter gave me(a throw away one) and she took pictures of me for my picture book. Also a few of my nurses. Dont take too much, but what you said is good. And yes, you may feel like reading the day after surgery.
Craig, if fever continues get to the doctor. Dont wait too long. You need to be drinking often and water too. Please??????
I will check in later today. Gods blessing to all of you. Colette
Good morning Jan and Everyone!!
Was I pooped when I got home yesterday, I was in at 10:30 last night . I was so amazed at Bothwell during Pre-ops, they make it so convenient for the patient, everyone comes to you, the only place I had to walk was to X-Ray and everything was right on the same floor. It took a couple of hours which didn't seem long at all and man were they ever efficient I'm really impressed. Thanks Jan I hadn't thought about make up so that goes in the bag today . My DH and I ate our little snack and drove home. I had to stop by Sonics though and get me a cherry limeade on the way home that's the last one for a long long time if ever again. I personally want to thank you all in advance for your prayers, it means a lot knowing someone is praying for ya.
Linda: I got your email, just think next week is like here already God bless you on your surgery too.
Well everyone stay cool!!

Good Morning Everyone
Jan: No I didnt end up getting Ms. Buttons done. The groomers called me yesterday and rescheduled it for today. I had to put her mate down last year. Was one of the hardest thing I ever had to do. Tore my heart out!! Keep rebukeing the devil dont let him get to you!!!
Sherr: I got your email. Girl I am so sorry to hear that you havent been feeling good. We will just had to add you to our prayer list. And believe that the Lord will touch you and heal you.
Barbara: Your time is just around the cornor. Enjoy your last remaining day before you come over to the other side. I am so happy for you!!!
Lana: That soup that you and Jan keep talking about sounds so good. So how are you holding up with DH gone??
Andrew: A Local church here in Joplin does the Angel Food Ministries also. We usually put our order in and take it to my parents house. I think it is such a great thing they need to do it all over. Pssssttt: Patrick still ROCKS!!!!
Brenda: How are you doing sweetie. Well it is count down for you also hun?? Has it set in yet that your actually getting this done?? I know it didnt for me until the night before. We checked into our hotel (my surgery was scheduled for 8am had to be there at 6am) and DH and I talked and cried until early morning.
Deanna: So how do you like curves?? I thought I heared or read that they had a weight limit?? Is this right? I know that will be my next step when I can get into the pool anymore. So I thought I would ask you what you thought of it so far?? You know I dont want to be the only BIG girl there. lol
David: Praying that your Doctor will be able to help you with your pacemaker. I understand what you mean about being picky who your babys go to. I was the same way when I had puppies ( not me having puppies but my female ****er had puppies) lol
Benny: Come out come out where ever you are!!!!!
Linda: Thinking of you as your day approaches. Your in such good hands. I must of missed what you and Jan were talking about with the whole Adam & Eve thing and clothes??? lol
Craig: There is a place in Columbia (they ship also) that sells clear protein and it taste pretty good. It is called Meta Health Weight Management. Thats how I got my protein in the first week. Your in our prayers!!!!
Well I need to get busy. Got laundry to finish, meds to take, exercises to do, packing, maken out bills, macking phone calls, ect. And I havent done anything yet. lol At least we have plenty of left overs for the guys so I wont have to cook anything tonight. I will post again before I leave on Wed.
Love ya'll
Melissa
Hi Melissa
Yes my day is super close now and I'm finding that there are still lots of hurdles to still and of course the is still very busy, but he can't prevail. thanks for your prayers I really need them all. I was reading your post about Ms. Buttons, I love dogs but we are renting now so we can't have any pets, but I like hearing about everyone's little friends. My DD has a Malese and he is so cute, he growls at you when you say come let's take a bath
Well have a great day and stay cool , wow it's almost tomorrow well have a good Wednesday, where has the time gone?
God bless, Barb T. in KC
hello again and how is everyone? So glad to hear Craig is feeling better. Keep it up Craig. I worked today and home now and supper and dishes all done. Going out to water some more. It seems so funny to see the corn fields around here all light straw color already. Wont be long and the farmers will be picking corn. This is really early but the heat has had effect on it. Picked 9 great big sokid tomatoes today. They are so good. Had a salad tonight for supper with different veggies, and meat and cheese. Yummy. I am continuing to pray for all the upcoming surgeries and have to mark in my calendar book so I dont forget to visit at the hospital. If someone does not want me to come please let me know - or I warn you ---I will be there. LOL
I have a question. Where do some of you get all the little flying angels and things that you post with your posts. Just curious. Have a great evening. Colette
Hi Jan. Hope you are staying cool in all this heat. My goal is to go to Curves 5 days a week (I'm not a real weekend workout person especially after Cody goes back to school) but I will be pleased with myself as long as I go 3 times a week. We did a marathon swim in the neighbor's pool again today. Yeah, we were prunes but man did it feel goooooodddd. As for what you have packed it all sounds good to me. What are you planning on wearing home? Make sure it is something comfy. Personally, I wore a nice nightgown with my robe home. Your day will be here soon.

Wow is this heat something or what? I always wondered just how hot the hinges of hell really are and I think now we know! Summer is usually one of my favorite times of the year but not this summer!! I planned on playing golf at 5:00pm tomorrow but I don't think that's gonna happen. I play with a friend of mine and about 12 other senior citizens at the Shriner's golf course here in town. We bring snacks and get together at the bar afterwards to talk about our games, compair scores and visit. It makes me feel really good because at 39 years old they make me feel so young lol! But anyway it will be too hot to do that tomorrow. They are calling for a high of 102. I know it got to 102 today but they were calling for 100 today, so who knows where tomorrow will top out at. I'm sooooooo ready for fall!
