Question for the medical people in the group

I was just wondering how long this self-induced bump on the top of my head will be there? :-& I keep forgetting it's there and brush my hair, run my hand threw my hair, whatever and it hurts! Hubby says it may be a couple of weeks but I think he's just saying that to keep me from worrying....I'm not worried, I just want it gone! It's starting to itch there so I'm thinking...healing? I sure hope so! I never put ice on it, that probably would of helped and I don't want to see the doc unless I have to, he might shave the area and I would look real funny with a bald spot! Any HELP would be appreciated! (she had way too much fun with this)...LOL Thanks in advance...Love & Prayers, Deb
