MONDAY WHATS HAPPENING!!!!!!!
Today is the first day of the rest of Craig's life. I have been praying for him a lot , every time I think about him I say a little prayer. Im sure God has heard his name many times in the last 24 hours. I will call the hospital about 11 this morning and see if he is in his room yet and how he is doing and I will put a post on the board as soon as I can find out anything.
Yesterday was wonderful. We turned the a/c off Saturday night and had all the windows open never did turn the a/c on yesterday all day. We spent most of the day outside. My Daughter and her husband came down Saturday night and he and Joe put in the two doors to the guest cottage that we were trading around. Took them all day as they had to cut the openings for the doors wider and bigger to accommodate the bigger doors.
Well remember me saying last Sunday I had a sick spell of being dizzy and nauseated and finally vomiting? It happened again this Sunday, Now is that weird or not. This time lasted about the same amount of time , about 3 hours and after vomiting I felt pretty good. Was able to eat lunch about an hour later although a small amount. I cant find any common thing that links them together. The wasp sting was after the first episode, Nothing is eaten before one that was eaten before both of them , in fact yesterday I had not eaten at all when this one started . The only common thing is that it happened both times on Sunday. And like I said I have never thrown up before in my life. Maybe 3 times all together before in 65 years so it isn't something I do easily I am going to call my pcp and go see her and have her to run a cbc on me in case I have a low grade infection. I don't want to go into surgery in 3 weeks with some sort of bug in there hiding. Well enough about me If anyone has a thought let me know.
Andrew: Well did you go to Elephant Rocks yesterday for your picnic? That sounds like such a nice thing to do. I remember lots of sunny days with picnics there.
I hope our weather stays like this too. I wont even gripe about temps in the 90s so much anymore. Lol
Sherr: I sure hope you and Lucky get to meet up today. That would be awesome.
Hope your doctors consult goes well and you get your date today. Don't know how your doctor works.
Shsssssss don't be talking about pancakes and syrup in front of all of us. We are trying to be good. Now look what you have done. There is a run on the stores for s.f. syrup.
Be careful on your trip home today. Be safe.
Lucky: let us know how your pre-ops go today. And I sure hope you and Sherr get to meet up. Wont be long as Andres says that we wont be able to describe ourselves as the "fat one"
I am looking forward to getting to know you better. You said you were a professional in K.C. what is your profession? Take care of yourself and hope to see lots of posts from you in the future.
Pamela: I hope your life and problems have settled down now. And the getting back to exercise is a good start for getting over the plateau. You go girl
Dannielle: Thank you so much for all the praise you heaped on top of my head . I love doing this post every morning and rambling away. I'm just glad that you all let me do it. Lol Best therapy in the world .
I loved meeting you at the last meeting too altho it really seemed too short. I would like to after the meeting sometime for anyone that wanted to go have coffee somewhere and really get to talk with you all for a little while.
Lana: Ok where is the real Lana and what did you do with her???? Exercising on a day that the regular place wasn't open? That is a dead giveaway that you aren't the Lana I met a few months ago. That Lana said she hated exercise and had always hated it and was only going to do it so she could have it documented to be able to have surgery. So I know you are a fake .lol
That is amazing that you would do that.
Colette: what in the world comes in a gallon jug to drink before surgery. Why not the small bottle of magnesium Citrate ? It will do the job just fine. That is what I have use for all abdominal surgeries before
Take care of yourself too and We are still praying for Mel and his recovery.
Elizabeth: So very glad that you are getting in lots of Therapy pool time. I don't understand why they wouldn't have that one open in the evening too for a couple of hours.
The hummers are really busy this time of year. We have 6 feeders up and it takes a lot to keep them all filled all the time. Seems I always have at least one or two of them that are empty. But they have loads of flowers too they can drink from too, They especially seem to love the bee balm and the salvia. There are lots of new babies now too and they are very curious. We will be sitting on the back porch and they will come up and hover right in your face to see what you are I guess.
Brenda: I thought that too. My book says drink a bottle of Mag. Citrate . So what gives? That is what I have always taken before surgeries. And just had a colon scope here while back and that is what they had me to drink then too. You can get it at the dollar store for a dollar. And It WORKS!!!
Hope you are feeling better than you did in Church yesterday. I am hoping that losing weight will surely help in the pain department. I know it wont get rid of some of the things like djd and ddd and fibro. But at least we wont have the additional weight of all the fat and fluids pressing down on us so the pain should be a lot less. That is my prayer anyway.
LOL I loved your Special News Report: that was too funny. Yeah you are full of it , just not sure of what yet. Lol
Benny: where are you fellow? We miss talking to you. Hope all is well with you.
Wayne: take care of your family they are what counts the most.
David: We are keeping you in our prayers for complete healing.
Melissa: Are you among the missing now? I know you leave for your week long trip on Wednesday? And I assume you are packing and cleaning etc. but miss you when you are gone even one day let alone 6 we will all have Melissa withdrawals. Also we miss your jokes you use to post. I think the more weight you lose the more things you find you can do so you don't have time to spend at the computer like you use to. Love and miss you little one. Love seeing your smiling face when I go to see who has posted .
Everyone have a great day today and I will let you all know as soon as I know something about Craig.
LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS

Jan....
Yes I absolutely love the hummers! MY MIL has fed them for so many years that they will actually come and perch on her finger while she stands out there. I have lost count of the number of feeders she has. Thankfully she makes her feed herself as she could not afford to buy the mix or ready made. She has to fill hers daily! Whew...alot of work but they are glorious to behold!
The therapy pool at the Centre (in Rolla) also serves as the splashdown pool to their 2 story water slide. That is why it is only offered for very limited times during the day... It takes over 1 hour for them to heat it up to therapy levels and once the slide is open they cannot let anyone in there to use it for therapy. They turn the heat and the hydrojets off and then the kids have the slide open. Trust me I wish that they DID have it open in the late afternoon/evening hours. Even if it was just for 1 hour it could accomodate those who have to work during the day. I am in the process of writing a suggestion for that!
Folks think of me today as today is my first day back at work in over 3 weeks. I have very strong feelings of NOT wanting to go back but I must due to financial issues. They are not kind to work with at all and that is the understatement of the year. I realize that there will always be "those" types of folks no matter what job you have but it just seems like I have MORE of those types of folks then I do the other type. Just catty and all around hateful. It just makes it harder and harder when I am off for vacation. I just SO don't want to go back....*sigh*.... jobs in this area are very scarce so that is the main reason I stay on.....
I have been thinking of Craig so much this morning.... I put a post up last night in the main board asking for those who didn't mind to post to his surgery page. I know what that is like to sit back and read their replies. It does help and it means alot!..... Can't wait to hear how he is doing!...
Well I have to get busy and get ready.... everyone have a great day and take care!!!!
Elizabeth~
Jan,
time for a quick post before I go outside and walk and water. Are you sure you do not have NIDDM? The fact that you did not eat and got sick makes me think you may have triggered that episode and the symptoms could be that too. I have known many people who get sick like that. When my blood sugar gets low, I am sick and nauseated too.
Dr. H does not give you mag citrate. He gives you a script that you pick up at pharmacy and it was a gallon jug with instructions and 3-4 different flavored packets. The day of drinking you mix it with water, get it cold and drink it. Half of the gallon jug is what I had to drink. This is what I had and I picked it up in Sedalia. Did he give you the script yet?
Sky, is that what you got from Dr. H too? Anyone else? Just curious.
Prayers are on the way for Craig and he should be prepped and on his way. Everyone please have a great day. Colette
Yep Colette I had the big jug too. They said I could to the bottle of mag citrate but you had to drink two of them, and they gave me a script to get filled and said it would be better if I got it filled and did it that way. Well that's what I did as the script was covered by my insurance and I didn't have a co-pay on it even. But then again when you have to drink something that taste like that you shouldn't have to pay for it. LOL Shoot they should pay you to drink it. LOL
I am so thinking of Craig today. Looking forward to Jan's post saying he is doing fine.
And Elizabeth I said a special prayer for you today also. I understand about the job thing. I once had a job where most everyone there thought they were better than everyone else. I hated that job. I like working with people who are down to earth and care about others. Like everyone on this board.
Well you are all in my prayers and I am praying you all have a great day.
Take care and God Bless.
Sky
Honey...
Thank you for thinking of me today.... it means alot.
The job I have that I am going back to today is like that job that you had.
My feelings are soooo strong right now that it is scary. I SO do not want to go back. Backstabbing vengeful snippy people... *sigh*....
...but I will go with a smile on my face and a song in my heart. *s*
Elizabeth~
Jan, what Colette is talking about is a gallon jug of "Go Litely" that you get with a prescription. Which, by the way, you do not do! Dena said at our last support meeting that they had convinced Dr. H that Magnesium Citrate worked just as well and you didn't need as much. He said OK and they changed the notebooks to that instead of the Go Litely. We all thanked Dena very much!
Linda
Oh, I forgot to tell you. I have a friend that's a nurse and she said that in the hospital where she works, they give you a straw to drink the Citrate with. You put the straw as far back on your tongue as you can and still suck through it. That way you don't get as much of a taste of the stuff. Also, be sure it is real cold when you drink it--that makes it better on the taste buds. Anything has to be a help, don't ya think?
Linda
Jan,
I know, I'm obsessive but I have to go to the gym four times a week now and so if I go on Saturday and Sunday I only have to go two nights after work. That said, I really don't mind exercising at the gym at all. It is air conditioned and the machines are really neat and it goes pretty fast actually. I have been praying for Craig all morning too. Will be anxious to hear from you that he's out of surgery and cracking wise again. I love you all so much. I'd love to stay after the meeting sometime and really visit with people. I know you and Melissa have quite a long drive home afterward but we usually get out by sevenish so a couple of hours wouldn't make you too late. Let's work on that after your surgery. Doesn't that sound great. You are so close now. Can't wait for you to get on the losing side. I did get a denial for preauthorization from my insurance but it just said that I hadn't completed the six months yet and that they knew I was enrolled in New Images. I think my Dear Doctor just sent it in to give them fair warning that he's on my side on this. So, it wasn't depressing to get that denial. As far as the getting together after a meeting goes you know if it's going to happen you and Melissa will have to be the ones to organize it, teehee!!
Sending the recipe via email today.
Lana
Gooooood Morning Jan & Crew...
I am setting here eating my Turkey sandwich on Wheat that I brought from home....I could afford to eat out, and the motel has an in house restaurant, and breakfast is even free, but after the whole "pancake episode" I was too worried I'd be a pig out there.
The room here has a microwave and lil fridge...not tooooo bad for $33? Is it? I told you guys about "hotwire.com" right...you get deeply discounted rates on hotels, car rentals and flights....
The hotel Manager told me their super special best rate they off is $59, so I got almost 1/2 price.
I need to go find Craigs prayer page, or whatever it's called....we should all "sign" it.
Elizabeth, I am with you, I hated my job for two years....the people were mean and having to work so ill, just wasn't worth it.
I hope things go okay for you today, please come back and tell us.
Soooo good to read about everyone!!! I need to sign off, as I sprained my right hand and it's hurting to type...
Much Love!
