kc area support groups???

hiya! my name is todd and im new here i live in independence mo. i had my rny surgery by dr.hornbostel in sedalia last sept. i was talking with him last week when i went in for my checkup and was told that he has lots of folks he has done surgery on in lees summit, blue springs, indep.etc. anyone know of a support group in kc area?/ or is everyone doing great like me!!? lol thanks todd

First off welcome to the Mo. board. then as far as support groups there should be something in that area as large as it is. Check with the hospitals there that do the surgeriers. Call their offices and see if there is one close to where you want to go. Good luck. Jan

Good Morning Todd and welcome to the Missouri board. I went to the top of the page and clicked on the Support group tab and then clicked on Missouri and this is what I found listed in YOUR area. I do know that it shouldn't be all inclusive though. I would contact some of the local hospitals as I have heard folks speak of going to their SG meetings and then they mentioned hospitals. They have a good support group at Truman Med Center Hospital Hill on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 4:30 PM. You can call their Bariatric Program office for more info. Hope this helps. Barb T. in KC
