Hello guys. I am so tired from yesterday. First we stopped in Branson at the pain clinic for Hubby to get his injection in his back of steroids Then on over to my brothers house in Shell Knob. Really had a good visit with everyone. My other brother didn't come up which was sort of a bummer. But we really had a good time. Didn't get home last night until about 11 I think, Like Melissa said "I'm getting too old for the late night dates" It was so good to see my sister from Texas again. Havent seen her since last Feb. when we got off our cruise and we went to her house. I had my daughter to take a full length picture of me from the front and side views for my before picture. I know it is going to be lovely. NOT!!!!! Rachael: Are you still hurting? Have you all not found out what the MRI says yet? Glad that you finally got the picture of the Protein Powder I sent you. You work on an Army base? The first one that I sent was sent back to me saying it might be spam. Lol Sherr: Your son sounds like my grandson. He was 14 and was already up to 6ft 4inches. He is now 18 and is 6'6" Everyone was always asking him if he played basketball. And he did but was so gentle and sweet that he wouldn't be a good professional. He didn't have the ,whatever , in him to be able to push or elbow or stomp on toes and other things that they wanted him to learn so he could become really good.I guess aggressive is the word I am trying to think of. Oh yeah Sherr that is what I am saying. The life after isn't going to be all peaches and cream. It is going to be hard work and all but if I can feel even a day now and then without pain or be able to walk more than a few feet then I will consider it a success. Andrew: there is nothing wrong with your picture. You look like a very nice and pleasant man. And will love to meet you one day. I don't know how much longer this heat wave is going to last either. The rest of this week anyway I see. Drink lots of water. Melissa: please be careful in the hot sun even if you are in the pool. Im glad that you put you an umbrella there. Really I don't know if you need to get any darker. Lol. When is it you go for your 3month check up? Brenda Minks:wow I now have 3 weeks, and 6 days. Yippee. What time do you all think you will get to Sedalia on the 16th of August? If you can get there early enough we can meet you before we go home. I hope I feel good after surgery. I use to bounce back really fast when I had surgeries. But the last one I had was about 16 years ago and I was in a lot better shape than I am now too. I am stocked up on s.f. jello, sf pop cycles, broth, favored teas, I have my chewable vits and calcium so I think I am set for the first week after surgery anyway. Elizabeth: so glad to see you are finally feeling better. Lets pray that you have had all the surgeries that you will need for a lifetime lol Your childhood sounds perfect. I love horses too altho I don't know much about them. Deanna: yes DePaul is COE but the doctors there wont take Medicare. How lame is that. So it isn't an option at all. Looks like Medicare would make them have someone there to operate .But Barnes Hospital in St. Louis is suppose to have their walk thru inspection on August 1st So then there will be two of them in Missouri, hopefully . Barbara : Your husband sound like a wonderful man. That is about the way my hubby would be too. He always thinks of me in so many little ways all the time. Hes very romantic, I get ashamed of myself because im not and don't think to do all the sweet little things that he does. Im just glad he does them tho. I feel very blessed to have mine also. So glad you have one of the good ones too. Lol Colette: Hope the MRI turns out ok this morning. Hope they find what is wrong with your Hubby soon. It really does sound like TIAs doesn't it? Sometimes those happen so fast that you don't really even know it. I read a medical article once that said that people are having them all the time and most don't even know that anything happened actually. I don't know about that but I guess it could be. We will all agree and pray that he get well fast. Craig: so glad that your pre-op went well . If they didn't see anything on the ekg they probably don't need the echo and that stuff badly. Anyway they will probably find all of it this week. Just trust in Jesus, he will carry you thu. Leaning , leaning leaning on the everlasting arms. Wonderful song with lots of meaning. Leaning on the arms of Jesus. Cant you just picture that. Only 6 days left. Marcia: lol my little spell checker and proof reader. Love you girl. I know there isn't a breed called Halter lol I guess I didn't get it said right. My brother breeds quarter horses to be big and muscular, they don't ride them only Show them in this Halter class. They are really pretty but I don't see much sense in having a horse that you don't ride. These are champion Show horses worth thousands and thousands that all they have to learn to do is walk and stand pretty lol. Big and muscular. I bet your horses are really pretty. I went to google and typed in Paso Fino and they are really very pretty horses .Don't work too hard making the puppies pretty. Take a break once in a while to cool off . Today is suppose to be a really bad one . Benny : glad you pushed back your surgery to have more time to get yourself and your mind ready for it. Congradulations on the 13 pound weight loss. That is awesome. I don't think you will regret having the surgery anyway.Your new date will be here before you know it so start reading and preparing. There are some good books that you could read that might help your get your mind wrapped around the idea. They are calling for a Heat Advisory today. So everyone be careful and stay in the A/C if possible today , drink lots of fluids , water is best or gatoraid if you have to be outside a lot. Take care and i will see you all tomorrow. LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS. JAN

Good morning Jan and Everyone!! Thanks Jan my DH is pretty cool, I guess the third time is the charm LOL I'm blessed to have him. Yes it's suppose to be a blister today so everyone stay cool and have a great one. Craig: My Pre-op is the 31st is there any pointers you can give me because I'm pretty nervous about it, I'm trying to stay as calm as possible so my pressure won't be to high or higher than it is already. My drug plan changed my BP med and it's not working for me, so I'm calling my heart doctor today and see if they'll change it back to what was working, why do they do that change meds when they work for you? Anyway everyone haxe a good day. Barb T.

Jan.... Goodness it sounds like you have an event filled day. Just reading it was enough to make me tired. Glad that you had fun and that you are home safe and sound. I had a bit of an event last night with our doggie, Rosie , racing about the house while playing with the other dogs. She normally doesn't do this but decided to jump up on the sofa whilst doing a "flyby" run. Unfortunately for me the jumping up on the sofa meant she landed right in the middle of mom's tummy. Ohhhhhhhhhhh man o man o man... that did not feel so great. I got two staples partially removed and I had to go ahead and take them all the way out. Last night was a bit unsettled pain wise but I am up and raring to go this morning. If I can get around I am going to see if Mike can take me so I can walk in the therapy pool in Rolla at the Centre. It is where we always work out (prior to this go around of surgeries that is)... they have a wonderful facility. So keep your fingers crossed for me... I would love to be able to do this PLUS get out of the house too! Everyone please take care of yourselves today. Try to stay in out of the heat and if you know that there are those out there INCLUDING PETS who are out in the heat please check on them. It isn't fit for man OR beast and I worry about our 4 legged friends. Alot of them have good mommies and daddies but sadly alot of them are neglected at best...and with this hot weather it scares me for them.... Everyone have a great day! Elizabeth~

Hi Jan and all. Hope everyone is having a great day and trying to stay cool. Yeah, I agree that is a little silly for the hospital to have the COE and none of the doctors take Medicare. I knew they didn't take it when I was looking into the surgery but I thought since I saw them on the COE list that maybe they changed their policy. I guess not. Nothing like getting people's hopes up and then dashing them, huh? I'm glad Barnes is getting their walk through. At least that will be another hospital in MO that Medicare people can use. Have a great one and stay cool. Deanna

Jan, you and Mel are such my WLS Family I have an "evil" twin too, Janet...j/k Janet.... I just can't imagine what everyone is doing with this terrible HOTT weather... they said the 2nd named storm if forming off the coast of the Carolina's today... SOOO glad I do NOT live in GA any longer.... One week there in Sept 2004 we got from F1-F3 strength hurricane aftermath!! FOUR DIFFERENT TIMES...in the same week! I was glad to have driven a pretty tall truck, as all cars were not safe on the road...the water was UNREAL, and the wind ....I stayed scared during hurricane season. I went to my Psych Eval today.....was kinda weird, talked about my smoking/drinking and drug use...LOL.....NONE, nada, and zip...lol I hope that is everything I need for now, this trying to get WLS is tiring....especially when I have to drive from one hour to (5) hours every time. LOL Tired, just wanted to say hello, and hugz to everyone.... S

Hello s, I am having trouble getting a psyche eval set up before my surgery date. Could I ask you who you got in to see, and do they take Medicare? I would be so thankful to you for any info. Thanks Brenda

Good afternoon to everyone, Jan we are planning on being there on the 16th by noon, hopefully, that means we have to leave about 6:00 a.m. We have to come out on the 10th for my pre-op on the 11th, maybe we could set up something on the 10th maybe we could meet and have supper together? I have bought some sf jello and sf pudding, and I ordered some ON protein powder from the Advantage Nutrition Optimum Nutrition web site I ordered the rocky road in 5lb jar all total it cost me $35.90. I looked at a couple walmarts and I couldn't find the Optimum Nutrition brand, I found several whey protein powders but not the ON brand. Melissa I hope you are doing well. e-mail me. I am having a problem, I cannot get an appointment for a psyche eval before my surgery date. I e-mailed Dena about it but haven't got answer back. Medicare doesn't require it and Dena didn't tell me to get one until I e-mailed her about everybody else getting one and I asked her should I do it. She said that their office didn't require it but it would be a good idea to get one. I just hope and pray that this doesn't change anything for me!! We have already paid for hotels and hubby is in a meeting right now asking for the days off, everybody please pray that I will be able to have my surgery as scheduled on the 17th. I hope everyone has been able to keep cool today it sure has been a scorcher, from what our local weather station says there is supposed to be a cool front on the way. Everybody take care . Brenda
