Sunday everning prayer
I don't want to bother you all but I know you all pray for each other as I do for you but I have a special need this evening.
I've done a bad thing, I tried doing a little work in the heat today and feeling poorly tonight. I don't think it was just the heat but I do believe that was the biggest part.
I have wrote in my posts that I have a sinus infection and am on antibiotics and some other stuff called Phenavent (I think)...it's for the sinus pressure. I am on several other meds as well for multiple problems.
Anyway... by reading my posts you guys should also know that I have puppies (they are old enough to be sold now)...I was in their pen (25'x15'), cleaning, weed eating (using an electric one, it's lighter) and as normal with taking antibiotics I had to go to the bathroom. I had only been outside maybe 20 or 30 minutes and it was around 11:00am when I went out. I came in the house (A/C blowing full blast) and used the restroom and went to return ouside to finish my work. About the time I reached the front door, I got weak, shaky, knees got weak and felt faint. I decided that I needed to stay in and I sat down on the couch and preceded to make my "puppies 4 sale" signs and drinking water (slowly). That was hours ago and I'm still feeling weak and a little nauseated. Unfortunately, I have always been one of those "it has to be done and I'm going to do it, no matter what people!" Between my weight, my back, the diabetes, the meds I'm on, the heat and the humidity, I need to change my ways!
Hubby keeps warning me but it's just hard to accept the fact that I can't do the things I use too. Before the injury in 1997 I was a real true to life, go getter and I guess I never have accepted the fact that life as I knew it, is over. That more of my days now, are bad days and when I have a good day I need to use it wisely instead of playing catch up and almost killing myself trying to do everything!
I know I will be better after my wls surgery but my back will never be the same. My microsurgeron, who I think is an awesome doc has already sat me down and told me that my back is gone and no matter what he does and no matter how many sugeries I have, it will never be the same as it was before my injury...I'm not going to give up on it getting better, I just need to work smarter, not harder....sorry guys, was on a roll....just please add me to your prayers...thanx, Deb
Heya Deb,
Your in my prayers also, you gotta take it easy silly, esp in this heat. Like Craig said, some of the anti-biotics you need to avoid the sun and heat plus some diabetic meds are like that, I take one diabetic med that says right on the bottle to avoid exposure to sun and heat, so please by all means becareful. Sure hope you feel better tomorrow. I'll be prayin for ya!!
Feel Better Soon,
Andrew
Deb...
I'm sorry that you are feeling so poorly today... I know what it is like to have things to do and have the stress of physical limitations that hinder you. I was alot like you (still am even though I am postop now) and I would just about kill myself to get things done....push push pushing .....
Please take care of yourself kiddo.... you are under the weather right now and you are trying to kick a nasty infection. You shouldn't be outside in this heat and humidity on top of that. I'm just thankful that you got woozy while INSIDE the house instead of being outside the house!...
Drink water...stay WELL hydrated at all times as it will make your illness mend faster... plus it is good for our girlish complections to boot! *s*.....
If you have to get outside to take care of things... try doing it first thing in the am right after sunrise... it should be a bit cooler then....
((HUGS)) AND PRAYERS your way!
Elizabeth~
this heat and sun is enough to make anyone sick. let alone with a sinus infection and on antibotices. dangerous .We will pray for you. You sound a lot like me when i have a day that i feel really good i go crazy trying to get everything done in one day. By the time the day is over im totally exhausted. Like Elizabeth said do outside work early early right at sunrise. Jan
Hi guys.....I'm back, still weak but feeling a little better. Had another situation tonight though....went out to let my dogs run. Jake, my male golden retriever, 90lbs of pup took me out with his tie out cable (when it rains, it pours?). I can laugh now but was crying when it happened. I let them all loose to run and have fun in their pool (kiddy pool)...3 goldies, 1 lab and a shih tzu. Jake is the only male and a beautiful dog, both physically and personality-wise, he grew so fast and big we were going to change his name to Clifford (cartoon, Clifford, the big red dog)...we haven't, yet!
Jake had been chasing one of the females thinking she was in heat (I had already checked everybody before they were let loose and the shih tzu is fixed) and wouldn't leave her alone so I decided to put him on his tie out because the female he was chasing was getting testy with him and we try to avoid all fights! Well, needless to say, a 90lb pup can do a lot of damage to an old, fat woman who isn't smart enough to get out of the way...lol
I had ahold of his cable but when he darted I wasn't ready and I couldn't get a tight enough grip to stop him, he tripped me up and down I went, fortunately for me, over the years I have learned, if possible to land on hands and knees to protect my back. I was on the ground and he knew he messed up...bad! He laid down next to me (forgetting all about his female) and didn't flinch. Goldee, "the female" came over and laid next to me as well as if to keep Jake calm while I got up. It took me awhile and I was hollering for my son and hubby and of course no one heard me. I finally got to my feet and looked and all 5 dogs were laying all around me, protecting me, I'd say. Too bad they couldn't of learned that before Jake took me out....playtime was over, Mommy was heading in for the night, I'd had enough!
Got into the house and asked if anyone had heard me? No one had a clue! It has now been decided walkie talkies are back in use when one of us goes outside (we have 7+acres) and those come in real handy, when needed!
We first used them when my hubby's father came to live with us (he has since passed)and I was his caregiver. I had a baby monitor and the walkie talkies which made it possible for me to care for his bedridden father yet spend time in my garden or with my dogs. With the monitor in his room and a walkie, I could listen for him and talk to him and he never had to hit a button. It was nice!!
By the way, you guys were right...some of my meds do warn to stay out of the sun and heat. I guess I have been taking meds. for so long I take them all for granted...not anymore! Thanks for the heads up guys!
Anyway, it has been (to say the least) and eventful day and I do believe I have had enough so with prayers and love sent to all, I say "goodnight" ...Deb
