Finally Friday again? This week has been all mixed up for me too, just like the week before. I havent been able to keep my days straight. Like I said I think the closer it gets to my surgery date , the more I get distracted. I'm not afraid, I gave it over to God when I first started this process but I am really apprehensive about something and not real sure what it is. Help post ops . I cleaned out my closet the other day of all of my winter clothes and gave them away. I don't intend to be wearing that size this winter. I laughed and said I don't know why I did that so early, maybe to keep me from thinking about not going thru with it. If I don't do it now I wont have anything to wear this winter. I'll be in big trouble wont I? I went yesterday to Dr. Arnold in Springfield to have him check my eyes. He said that most of the things that can be wrong with eyes at my age were Not going on in mine that they were in really good shape except that where I had ,had the cataract surgerys on both eyes before have gotten a haze over the lens . He use a lazer on them to burn it off and wow does it ever make a difference. I also have very dry eyes and he told me to use eye drops 2x daily. Good to know that I don't have anything wrong with them now. We went to Zios for lunch while we were there too. Yummy. Their Spinach ,artichoke dip is to die for. Colette: I certainly hope they find out what is going on with your husband. Are you still at the Sedalia hospital or did you take him to KC? We are all praying for him and you. Take care of yourself so you can take care of him. Hope all the tests are productive. Hang in there sweet lady. Hopefully your trip to Texas will be on again soon. Jai: great to see you on the boards again. I hope your mother is better now that they know what is wrong and are able to treat it. We miss you when you arent here all the time. Sheila: Hang in there girl , hopefully you will hear from the insurance people soon. I don't know why they have to drag everything out like they do with people. I agree with you that it is way to hot and humid to be outside trying to exercise. I just use my rubber bands inside and my exercise ball. Trying to strenghten my legs and core body before surgery. I know how it is to have a husband that you have to take care of physically too. It can take a toll on you cant it? Deanna: Glad you got a new picture taken, cant wait to see your new one. I know you have to be feeling so much better. Has this been a gift from God in your life? I know what you mean about the walking and standing. I can do very little of either one too . I really believe standing hurts just as bad as trying to walk . Lana: Honey there is no way people can expect someone to work without a/c. That is inhumane. I wouldn't even try if I worked with the heat indexes being in the 100s that is awful. That will kill someone I would think. Where in the world do you work that they cant get the air conditioner fixed? Great news on the metabolism rate. That will help you burn lots more fat when you have surgery. David: cant wait to see the puppy pictures. Sure am glad that you are feeling better again. Cant wait to see what God has planned for you next. Andrew: August 9th isn't far off . It is the first step in the process and I know you are excited. I don't know what I expected at my consult meeting with Dr. H. but afterwards I was a little disappointed for some reason. I had driven so far to see him and within an hour I was out of the building. I don't know if I expected this big show or what .lol . If you have any questions he will answer every one of them for you. If you don't want to forget write them down in a notebook and read them off when you get there to him. I believe he is a great doctor. Marcie:I hope you got your paper work all filled out this time without someone erasing it. That is sad that someone did that to you. Im glad at times that I have no one in my house using my computer but me. My husband doesn't touch it at all. I agree with you about the humidity here. Do you know where we can get cheap used scuba gear? Brenda: the protein powder is sure good isn't it? Some people have found it at a super wal-mart. I think that was Andrew. And some person found it at a walgreens. I don't know if all the stores in those chains will be having it in stock or not. But if there is a super wal mart close to you somewhere you might check. Make sure you get the one with the black label. Maybe we will all have a big pill flushing party when we have our surgeries. Lol 1-2-3- flush!!!! Craig: thanks for the encouraging letter to Benny. Wow buddy look how many days you have left. Only 9 days....This next week will either fly by or crawl like a snail. Monday is a big day for you with Birthday and pre ops , good present I would think . The only thing that would make it better is to have the surgery on your birthday. But even so what a present huh? Has Jeff gotten your car fixed yet? Hopefully you have it done but if not you know you have a way to get there anyway. Friends and family are wonderful arent they? I have made an appointment for a check up for our truck. I want to make sure it doesn't break down on the way there. Lol Lia: if you are lurking ,please come back in girl. We miss you. You don't have to have anything to contribute. If you need encouraging let us help you. Benny: I know this is overwhelming sometimes but trust your instincts. If this is the tool that God has sent you to become a productive member of the world again grab it and hold on with both hands. I understand you being scared but when someone ask me if im scared of dying I tell them that I think of this surgery as a win-win situation. If I have the surgery and come thru it ok I Win and get to have a lot better life. If I have the surgery and I die while being operated on I still win. As I will be at home with Jesus , so don't be scared just be prayed up. He will take care of you. Rachael: We are still praying for you honey. I hope the pain will finally be relieved for you. And that they find what it is causing it. Sky: wow on your weight loss that is amazing. I hope you get to finish up your surgery soon so you can get more of it off soon. To have lost 55 pounds in a month and a half that is amazing. Again WOW. Keep up the good work girl!. This hot weather looks like there is no end in sight. I am really tired of it. Some people say that in the middle of winter we would love one of these days and to that I say baloney, not me. I don't like hot no matter when it is. Now on top of all of that I discovered Japanese Beatles in my flowers yesterday. Those things are like a plague from heaven. Take care everyone ,stay as cool as possible ,know that God and I both love you . LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS. JAN

Okay, you guys might as well figure me out sooner than later, I have a strange sence of humor. And Jan when you said you had Japanese Beatles in your garden I had to laugh because you spelled it like the band and not like the bug, so I'm envisioning these Japanese guys dressed like John, Paul, Ringo and George singing Beatles songs in Japanese in your garden. That would truly be a plague from somewhere, but not sure if it would be Heaven lol. I don't know if Lowe's carries any spray strong enough to get rid of them I have no right to tease someone about spelling, I am a terrible speller, and have dyslexia to boot lol. Oh well, it made me laugh before going to work. And that's always a good thing We had one heck of a storm last night, and might get some today. I don't like storms during the day as well, it scares the customers away, nobody wants to have their dog groomed only to go outside and get all messy again. It seems, nobody messed with the computer when I asked them not to, but wouldn't you know it came unplugged by one of the cats. They get to playing so hard it happens occasionally but not very often. It just HAD to be when it was important that it didn't get shut off. I didn't re-do it yesterday I was doing stuff with my kids and never got back on the computer.

That he couldnt fix, so you can tell the difference already?? Benny: Glad we got a chance to talk. I understand more now why. Just remember we are always here for you!!! Craig: Hey Buddy, I am so happy for you. It is nice to know that you have such good friends that they will make sure you get to the hospital in case your cars still down. Colette: You and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care of yourself too. Jai: Good to see your back!! Deanna: Looking foward to when you get your photos up. I need to do the same thing when I get back from my 3 month check up. Lana: What is with the no A/C?? Sorry to hear about this it is way to hot for that!!! David: I agree with Jan I cant wait to see the photos of the puppies!!! Andrew: Did you get any of the rain that came thro last night to early morning?? It thundered so hard it shook my house. DH jumped up out of bed and paced the house for awhile I just snuggled down and went back to sleep. lol Brenda: Have we found a new protein or is it the one Wayne turned us all on too??? Sky: WOW your doing so good!!!! Keep up the great work. Wayne: I miss you Buddy!!! Nana Linda: Where are you??? Lia: This board isnt just about helping people out!!!! It is about getting help for yourself also. WE are all human and we all know that we are going to have up's and down's. But to pull away from the board because you feel like you cant contribute postive things is not right either. We are all here for the good (WOW) and the bad also. Please dont pull away!! I pray you all have a great day. Stay as cool as possible. Counting down the days until some of your surgerys!!! God Bless Melissa

Melissa, I am right here!! I just got back from our vacation in New Mexico this week. I had to work Thursday and Friday (Yuck!!). I know I am lucky to have a job that pays pretty well, but it does require accepting a lot of stuff I do not like. Oh well. The airline trip was amazing. I had extra seat belt left over, and I fit in the seats. No more armrests jabbing into my hips. Woo hoo!! I bought broomstick skirts in Albuquerque in a gift shop. They are one size fits all--and they fit. I am trying to be better about posting on here, but I slip up a lot. I didn't have Internet access for most of the trip, but I have been on the boards since we got back. Keep in touch!! Linda

Good morning Jan and Everyone!! Time is flying seems like and I find myself sitting here sometimes thinking I can't believe that I'm finally going to have WLS and then my son will call from FL and tell me how grateful he is to God to have had this surgery. He's 2 years post -op and doing just great, he has lost close to 200 lbs, and I can hardly wait to see him. I went out yesterday to take my daughter for eye surgery and forgot my Handicap sticker and had to do some considerable walking and last night I could hardly move LOL. Getting ready to go out again today. Well everyone is in my prayers, have a great day Barb T. in KC.

Just wanted to wish everyone a happy weekend. I am getting so tired of waiting. I am waiting for my diabetes dr and primary care dr and my therapist to send their letters in. I just want to get in to see the surgeon and get my date set too. It is frustrating beyond belief. I don't even know if I will have insurance problems yet because they won't send it in without the letters. UGH! Congrats on those whose surgeries are coming up so soon. I can hardly wait to be in your place. I am looking forward to following along with you and the after surgery stuff, so hopefully I can have some friends to help me through when if finally becomes my turn. I see most of you are going to the same dr. That is so cool. Anyway...yea for TGIF and have a great weekend everyone!

Jan actually to be honest the day I got my surgery date it has been going pretty fast.....Although I cant hardly sleep. I been reading up on somethings. Answering email from friends. Calling friends and family up on the phone. My mother is upset that she cant go down to be with me....She is 76 and doesnt travel to good..But, she gets out on a riding lawnmower and mows In this heat.....The main reason is my Poppa is doing bad....They cannot figure out when he coughs continueously.....They gave him some Xanax to calm him down and thought that would rest the coughing, she gave him one and she forgot they were going to the auction near by and he backed off in a ditch........Yeah Iam honored this year, I get two birthdays thats just great huh? lol....I will be leaving from here at 5am on Monday for my preop appt. Iam not really scared about the surgery is the little things like is there something gonna stop me from having this surgery like blood work , EKG, etc etc.....But you know its all in Gods hand...Even though you have the faith you still think about those things.....Satan is a misleader..... I would like to take the time to apologize and give a HOLLER to Terri and Deana I forgot them on my list the other day.......Craig Lee

You will for sure be in my prayers next week and weeks to come. Benny hang in there dude, like Craig said it's satan trying to get you to change your mind cuz he knows once you lose all that weight your gonna be so happy and so free, that ole devil just dont want us to be like that, he likes keeping us down and all. Like you my family is a good support for me, im the youngest of 4 boys and all of my brothers are so after me to get this weight off by the surgery, I've had one brother that did have WLS and he is doing so good, the only complication he had was he developed a hernia a few months after surgery but that was his own fault for not following the doctors orders, he went back to work to soon. Hello everybody, Jan thanks for letting me know that Walgreens carries the ON whey protein powder. They are building a new store in Poplar Bluff and that's where I get my groceries so that will work out great. I checked at the Super Walmart in Poplar Bluff didn't find the powder there, but I will check again. I spoke with Dena about them not asking me to get a psyche eval or a letter from my PCP, I told her I called Medicare and they do not require it. Dena told me she knew they didn't require it but she thought I should still have it done. So I called my PCP today and wouldn't you know it he's on vacation until 7/24/06 so I hope I will have enough time to get it and not have to post-pone anything. You know what, when I was talking to the lady at Medicare I told her I had been pre-approved for the WLS and she told me Medicare doesn't pre-approve surgeries. So I don't know ------ I just hope they pay for it! When you all went for your psyche eval did you get the appointment or did your PCP set it up for you? Does Medicare pay for it? Hey Melissa did you order a bracelet? I got mine today and it's really pretty and kinda danty looking, I got the sterling silver. David I never was able to get that attachment open so I didn't get to see the puppies. Catch you all later Brenda
