HOT AND STEAMY THURSDAY WHATS HAPPENING
Another steamy day in the Ozarks .It feels like the hot stuffy air has gotten trapped in these hills and doesn't intend to go anywhere for awhile. It is so stiffiling out it takes your breath away. So stay inside folks if possible and enjoy that a/c .days like today makes you really realize what they are for.
On the bright side do you see that moon outside?
It is just beautiful. It has my flower garden so lit up that I can see the whole thing. Beautiful just hot.
Have to go today to have an eye exam. My vision has gotten worse lately and I want to find out why.
About 12 years ago I had cataract surgery done to both eyes ,hopefully it is nothing more than a film grown over the lens that were transplanted in both eyes. They can take care of that with a lazer.
I just know I am looking forward to being able to read and work on the computer better . I want to get it taken care of before my surgery anyway.
Speaking of which it is only 4 weeks and 3 days away. Whooo hooo
Time really has gone by pretty fast. When I first got my surgery date it was 12 weeks away and now it is only 4 wow.
Sherr: Not real sure what some of your numbers mean but you can always put them into google and it will probably give you a good idea. Yeah the weather here is awful too in swmo. It is so hot and humid out. The heat index is 101 too hot for me.
Love the fact that we have a nice big brood of chicks for me to keep an eye on now. Love it.
Tracy: Glad you check in with us once in a while on your book tour. I know I speak for most everyone here that it sounds like a the life of glamour. I got your new book the other day and have already read it. Very good. Waiting for the next. Lol
Sheila: thanks for explaining Sherrs blood work to her. I had no idea what it all meant. How are you doing?
Melissa: Boy aren't you miss independent now that you can drive again. I know it really makes you feel so much better. Congratulations on the weight loss. That is really amazing. Hope you find out what is going on with your leg. That has to be really annoying.
Andrew: wont that be wonderful to not have to take all those pills after surgery. We will still be taking pills but it will be vits instead of pills to make our bodies do right. I take 2 blood pressure pills and then a fluid pill on top of that and my arthritis meds. Will be glad to get rid of some of that.
SKY:::!!!glad to see you back girl. Hope your trip was really good and how did you do with you food and water while on a trip like that. Soon as you get rested you need to tell us what all you did. How is your weight loss going? Glad you got to see the ocean, did you get in it?
Barb: I know what you mean about getting all your ducks in a row before your surgery. I have been doing little bits at a time so that for the first week or so I am set I think. I don't want my hubby to have to go get me this or that. So your son had wls too? That is good. He can help you with ideas and how tos.
How long ago did he have his surgery? Has he lost a lot? I bet you will be amazed at him.
Im glad that you feel part of the family because you are. Wont be long before you are on the losers bench too.
Craig: less than 2 weeks. Are you getting nervous? Wish you would get on here more and tell us how you are doing. Miss talking to you buddy.
Colette: I know you probably are at the hospital with your hubby. I am really worried that you haven't gotten on and said anything about how he is doing. But I also know that he is taking top priority in your life right now. We are praying for him and you.
Deanna: wow way to go girl on the weight loss. I know that has to be so exciting. I cant wait until I am reporting to you all my weight losses.
When will you be going home? Have you noticed things that you can do now that you couldn't before? Tell us them we want to celebrate with you.
Tressia: color for a home is what you like. It can be anything and you can make it look lovely and personal by what you put with it. So what ever your favorite color is. Go for it. As long as it isn't black. Lol What color is your couch and curtains etc? go backwards like that if you don't plan on replacing them.
Marcie: No the ng tube is put down sometimes for meds too.
We had lots of rain too. And no thunder storms. What is with all of you guys and the storms?? I have to wonder about all of you. LOL
Shave a cat!!!!! Now who in the world would want someone to shave a cat??? I can just imagine the cats take on that too. Wow I wouldn't want to be you , sure wouldn't want to be the cat. Lol
Every once in a while OH site is hard to get onto. Ever since they started changing things around.
Love all of you guys. Take care of yourselves in this heat and don't overdo.
LOVE AND JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS
JAN
Good morning everyone!
I have been absent for a while and may be absent more. My DH got sick on Sat and he acted like a drunken sailor(and he does not drink). Fell and could not keep his balance. Naturally being a nurse, I knew what it could be. He had this 3 months ago and they could do nothing. So He went to ER on Sat via the ambulance and the doc did admit him. All his labs were within normal limits except Sodium which was just a tab bit low. They did eKG and a brain scan. They did find some abnormalities on the brain scan so we will find out what it is today when he sees the neurologist. He is up and walking ok for the moment but very weak. So I will let you know more when I know it. We were leaving on Sat for Texas but that is on hold now. He is more important.
I am counting days with you Craig - wont be long. Also all the rest of you it wont be long. And congradulations to all of you who are doing such a fine job of losing.
Take care and keep us in your prayers. Colette
Colette,
My mother went through alot of what you have said. Then she went to a neuroligist and he diagnosed her with MS. She has had her ups and downs since 1995. But today she is doing great. She had problems with her leg just giving out on her and becoming realy week and those have also slowed down. I am very thank ful that she did finaly go to the neuroligist when she did.
I will keep your hubby in my thoughts and prayers and hope for the best for you both!
Before you know it.. You both will be taking that trip to Texas and will be able to enjoy the time together even more.
Hugsss,
Jai
Jai,
Thanks for replying. My DH saw a neurologist today. His brain scan showed some enlarged ventricles. He does not know for sure what is causing this as it happens one day and by the next he can be walking again but not without effort. He is coming home and next Monday as outpatient will have an MRI. Dont quite understand why they cant keep him until that day or do it while he is in. He is just very weak, and the neurologist said he could be having TIA.s and the MRI will be so much better. So we wait till Tuesday. He is in Gods care. Thanks to you and everyone for their support. Colette
My husband has diabetes and we have to watch those numbers closely too as his is pretty bad. I also work in a hospital so I see the numbers daily on the patients. I am doing ok. I have been a bit paranoid and trying to diet because at the seminar they told us that if we had gained any weight between the date of the seminar and the date of the surgery (if I am lucky enough to get it), that the Dr. would not do the surgery because it would show we weren't committed. I have been trying to walk in the mornings but it is a little too humid for me, so I just did some exercises in the house and rode the stationary bike for the last couple of days. The arthritis messes me up so much and I have a lot of pain but it has gotten better with the Humira injections and methotrexate. Well, that is what is going on with me. I am so glad to hear that many have their surgery dates and many have already had the surgery and on their way to big losers! I am now waiting to hear from insurance.........Sheila
Good morning all. Yes Jan, it is very exciting to see that scale go down. It won't be long now before you join the club. We have about another week here at my brother's. We go home the night of the 23rd. I had Cody take a picture of me the other day so as soon as I get home I can download it to the computer and post it. Oh, there are so many things I am noticing thanks to the weight loss. The biggest one is that walking is becoming so much easier. I can actually make it through Wal-Mart without thinking I am going to die. Even something as small as not feeling like I am going to collapse while taking a shower because standing was even hard on me. Of course Cody enjoys the fact that I can now go outside and toss the ball around with him for a bit. Hope everyone is having a great day. Stay cool.
Deanna
Jan,
Another hot day for sure. The air conditioner has been broken in my office since last week and today my office thermometer says 85. Needless to say, chubby me is frying.
I went to the NUT and the exercise physiologist yesterday and got good reviews. My metabolism was higher than she expected it to be. TEE HEE!!! I had to breathe through my mouth into some machine for 20 minutes with a pinchey clamp on my nose and that wasn't the funnest thing I've ever done.
I'm leaving work a couple of hours early. If I don't I'll just be a puddle on the floor. We didn't get much rain at all after Monday night when you all were up here. It is still too dry. Hope you all have a great evening.
Lana
Hey hey ya'll...
Yeah Jan, I so cant wait to not have to take all the meds, I'll gladly take vitamins in place of them and lose all the weight It's a hassle sometimes but they keep us healthy for now.
Colette...Your husband is in my prayers, you take care of him and yourself, can't get yourself down ok? We'll all have to come whoop up on ya if ya dont take care of ya self LoL
It's been such a hot steamy day out there today ugh, I so hate the humidity and carrying all this weight as ya'll know just isnt all that much fun. Im counting down til my consult on aug 9th, I know its just my consult but thats just one more step towards a date I talked to my PCP today and asked him if he could have my letter of recommendation and stuff all ready by then, he said oh YES!! and my psych eval will be all ready by then too, wooohooo so hopefully they'll fax medicare with all my info shortly after my consult and then I should be all set
Well hope everyone has a goood evening, Im gonna watch a bit of TV with the wife.
