Already Wednesday? Wow time is flying isn't it. I guess that is the good thing about getting old is that if you don't like today it goes by quickly. I did very little outside yesterday. The humidity was just too much for me. But I will go turn on the a/c in the guest house tomorrow morning and get the rest of the cabinets painted. I need to get all of that stuff done so we can get it decorated and over with. I want to see it all done inside and cute like I can picture it. I have been in the storage shed lately finding my boxes of stored pictures and what nots to put in the guest house. I knew all of these would come in handy for something sometime. Lol Last night I sat out on the back porch for awhile and listened to the couple of frogs that have taken up residence in my garden pond. They sing to us every night. They say that is how you know you have made things right with nature . Lol I sure want to thank the Lord for all this great rain we have had. We got an inch and ½ last night and another ½ today. It isn't running off here it is soaking into the ground very well. Andrew: well I think I could be most everyones mom on here. My oldest daughter is almost 46 so yeah im older than dirt. You know I was raised to respect my elders but it is getting harder and harder to find any lately. Lol. I don't get up early I just don't sleep much. Im hoping that after the surgery that I will be able to sleep better and more. I have restless leg syndrome and my legs jerk and jump all night long. They try to do the buggaloo on me. So they wake me up a lot. Sherr: I know that a lot of people don't like to drive our roads. I have gotten use to them and don't even notice them unless my husband is driving . I know the trip to Columbia will seem long but it will be worth it . Linda : the days will just fly by when you look back at it . You don't have many left before going to the losing side. Yes I know exactly what you mean about wanting things and then when you get them they arent as good as you imagined. That is the reason I love remodeling houses. I should have been a contractor. I can look at the old wrecked building and can see what it will look like with the renovations I want to make. I was looking at a size 10 pair of pants and there is no way that my big butt will ever fit in them, but that is what I am shooting for. What is your goal. My real goal is to not have to take Blood pressure meds anymore, Barbara T: glad to have you here on the boards. Yes I think all of our anxieties and such are pretty normal too. I have talked to the people on the over 50 board and they have a lot of post ops there . They have some really good advice sometimes. Anyway glad to have you here and I see your surgery is only27 more days? Wow. Hope everything happens right for you. Lana: don't bet on it about being your mom. Maybe I was really young. You think? We have had lots of rain and could still use more , wont complain too much about any and all we get. Cathy : glad to see you on the boards this morning. We miss you when you are gone. Don't let anything or anyone keep you away from here again. Tressia: So glad that you are in the process of getting the surgery. I hope that the hospital does get approved soon. Will make a world of differnence to get it done im sure. Will pray with you about the hospital getting certification soon. If they have their walk thru then it is just a matter of days. Great.!!!! Brenda: the meeting we were at is the one in Springfield. Hope you can come one of these days too . It would be really fun if you could. That would be nice if you and your hubby could come. That is sad that his insurance wont pay for his surgery. I think the government ought to step in and say they all have to pay for it or to get out of the insurance business. I don't understand them anyway they save money in the long run over it. Thanks for the info of the medic alert bracelets. I got a medic card to put in my purse that will have all of that and other info on it and it is the first thing you see when you go looking for who I am or what ever. But maybe the bracelet or necklace would be better . Dannielle: So good to finally meet you too. I think the work you are doing to try and push the insurance companys forward is a great thing. How is that going? Have you contacted Medicare and ask them to put the pressure on the insurances companies or to have Government to put the pressure on ins. Companies? I admire anyone that is willing to do anything like that. There are lots of injustices in this world . Melissa: Hope you slept better last night. Anyone that wants to have Melissa have your phone numbers in an emergency please send them to her. I know she wont be calling you in the middle of the night to see what you are doing. LOL Marcie: Did you look at yesterdays post after you asked your question and I hope we answered your question for you about the medic alert bracelet. Whether we really need one or not is up to the person and what they want I would say. Benny: We so respect your decision to not have the wls done right now. Just don't quit posting to the boards. You can still use our support or at least we hope so. I back you 100% in your decision. Will keep you in our prayers that you will be successful. Wayne: hope your wife is doing ok. Let us know ,we are all praying for her. David: Are you continuing to get better . The puppies will bring you all sort of joy and happiness while you are getting better. Let us know how you are doing ok? Lia:: where are you. I have emailed her several times and have gotten no answer. Does anyone know anything about her? Sky: shouldn't she be home by now from their trip? Wonder where she is. Sky if you are there let us know. Maybe I am thinking it has been longer than it has . I just miss all of you when you don't show up for a day or two. Well I hope I havent missed anyone. I have went over and over yesterdays post hoping I havent. I love all of you and hope only the best for each and every one. LOVE,JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS. JAN

Jan, You have quite a crew of us...LOL... The way you describe things, I feel as tho I am right there experiencing it with you! Here in SEMO, we had the weirdest weather, on Sunday & all day Monday, it was very windy and the humidity about knocked ya out when you went outside. Then if finally started to rain, thank goodness, but I couldn't get over that sharp, hot wind...it was like a sword, when you were outside....just cut right into ya. BLEK! I talked to Melissa yesterday, and she really made things a lot clearer for me! Basically, do WHAT the Dr. says, when he says...sounds simple, but should a person want to push themselves, it sounds like they'd be asking for a world of problems!!! I don't know if anyone understands Hemoglobin AIC numbers, but I got my test results back yesterday and it was: 7.2 And my tricyledes ((sp?)) was a WHOPPING 474!!! I don't know what these numbers mean, but they were both marked "HIGH".... S

Sherr, In a hemoglobin A1C it is the daily average of your blood sugars over the last 2-3 months. A 7.5 would be an average daily glucose of 135. The ADA recommends that action be taken when A1C results are over 8%, and considers the diabetes to be under control when the A1C result is 7% or less. Yours doesn't sound too bad. Hope that helps! Good Morning my Lovely Missouri Family: Well today I am off to my PCP appointment. It is a follow up from the ER trip I made last week. Feeling alot better. Slept real good last night and woke at 6:45am. I weigh again today (Wednesday is usually my weigh in day) and I have lost another 6.2 lbs. That makes my total from surgery 76.2 lbs. WOW I just cant hardly put into words how that makes me feel. I cant wait to tell my PCP how much I have lost. I know he will be so proud of me. I am also going to ask him about why my legs (thigh) has been giving me such fits. It is like it is half asleep all them time. You know when you have a part of your body that fall asleep and when you get that tingley pin pocking sensation?? Well thats what my thigh is doing all the time. It's not a bad pain but it is just unnerveing. Dont know if I inched a nerve or what but I figured since I am there I will have him check it out. Gotta fax off a couple of papers afterward and stop by my g-friends work to chat with her for a few. Leaveing DH and nephew at the house while I run errands. Man does that ever feel good to be doing for myself now. But I am thankful for everything DH has done for me in the past. Well I love you all. I hope you all have a great day. Counting down the days until some of your surgery dates get here. Take care & God Bless Love you Melissa

Good Morning Ya'll Jan I know what you mean about that humidity...ugh I hate it cuz ya just cant breathe when its up to 100% like it was yesturday here. We really didnt get all that much rain, what little we did get tho soaked right into the ground. Well I guess you COULD be my mom since you have a daughter that is 46, I'm 42 but sometimes feel like 52 or older lol can't wait for all that to change after WLS Hey Sherr all that will change for the better after WLS. I've got a friend who was about my size, I'm 5-11 and about 485lbs , he had diabetes, high blood pressure, the high triglicerides (not spelled right) and all that, he was taking 7 pills a day. He's 3 months out of surgery and only takes vitamins, no diabetic pills nothing. He said his hemoglobin (again not spelled right) was 6.0 which his doctor said was totally normal. See what we have to look forward too I take nine pills a day and am on a cpap, I so can't wait get throw all that in the trash and like Dr. Hornbostel said, use my cpap as a door stop lol. Well ya'll have a wonderful hump day, it's all down hill the rest of the week....thank goodness lol Andrew

Good Morning Everyone Well I have been home for about a day now but I was so very tired when we got home all I wanted to do was sleep in my own bed. LOL Well we had a good trip and a really good time. I sure did miss you all. It has taken me a while to try and catch up on the post. Looks like a lot has been going on while I was gone. I would love to say something to everyone like Jan does but I'm just not as good as she is and I would forget someone just sure as shoot, and I love you all and don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or make anyone feel bad. So just know that each and every one of you are in my prayers. When I read about something going on in your life I say a prayer for you. And I pray for everyone on the board at night when I say my nightly prayers. Anyway I got to see the Ocean and it was really cool. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. May God Bless Each and Every One of You. Sky

Good morning Jan and everyone!! How do you remember everyone's name? Got lots of running around today trying to get some things in order for August is fast coming up and I don't want my DH to have to do too much runing around after my surgery. My son and DIL are getting here early so we can spend some time before my surgery and that's good they haven't been here since a little before his WLS. So they'll be here to help my DH he's been having some problems himself lately, this is a man that never gets sick, but he is getting older LOL. Just want to say thanks for making me feel apart of the family, and God's blessings to everyone. Try and stay cool today! Barb T. in KC.
