FOURTH OF JULY WHATS HAPPENING
Happy Independence Day......I wonder how many of the younger kids even know what we are celebrating on this day? Freedom is great , We can complain about our government , our leaders, our system all openly and not have to worry about getting thrown into prison. We are free to come and go as we please, to travel as we can afford , without asking permission. Even with all of our faults America is a wonderful place to live.
So have a great Independence Day and maybe you can think of some ways that your freedom is really a great thing of beauty .
Enough of my preaching I guess. We didn't do anything yesterday after about 10 am. I got up early like at 5 and as soon as I could see I went out and started watering. I had all the pots of things and several other little things watered all by 9 then I replenished the mulch on all 7 of my hygrangea, and hibiscus. Joe got up about 9 and helped me put new mulch around the elephant ears .I counted them yesterday and I have 16 of them that came up this year. So I will have plenty of new bulbs this fall ,same with cannas .This morning I want to mulch around all my cannas that are all down the front of the guest house and down both sides of my house. They are starting to really bloom pretty.
Tomorrow I am driving down to Mt.Home Ark to meet a couple of girls that I talk to on Obesity Help over 50 board. One of them is from Washington State and is on a long vacation driving all thru the south. That is going to be neat to visit her and the other girl is from Arkansas. I am excited about meeting them. The lady from Wa. Is post op about one year.
Sky: you all be careful on your trip. Where are you going to did you say Maryland? That is a good little trip. Do you have family there? Be sure and pack you plenty of water to drink and high protein snacks, get a small cooler to hold your food in case there is none available where ever .
Melissa: How are you feeling today, rested? How was your mother feeling when she was up? Does she have anymore treatments to do now? Hope your fil comes over today for you . Is he sort of a recluse?
Hopefully today we get a little rain .I know it might put a damper on some of the fun but it could rain today and then not tonight for the fireworks.
Colette: Glad you had a great vacation. Rest up now from it. Do you need a vacation from your vacation.
How is your garden doing with you being gone? I would be afraid my flowers would die if I went off and left them for any length of time.
Have a good day of rest today. And don't work to hard tomorrow.
Andrew: welcome to the Mo. Board. So glad to have you here. Yeah what Medicare did to a lot of people was so bad in January. I was just like you all set to have surgery but in Springfield with Dr. Hodges and they pulled the rug out from under me. But I found Dr. Hornbostel in Sedalia soon after and found out that they were already in the process of getting their Certificate of Excellence and were still lining up Medicare patients for when they would get their COE. My surgery is going to be August 14th . There were several of us on this board that found Dr. Hornbostel the same way and are now headed for surgery for last of July thru August He is a good doctor and im sure you will like him. Oh if your medical stuff is current you probably wont have to redo much. I hadn't done any pre op stuff when I saw him and all I have had to do to get a surgery date was do a psych eval. Then will do all the pre op stuff the week before surgery there in Sedalia at the hosp.
So other than the waiting you may not have a lot to do.
Tracey: How great to hear from you again. The weight loss is terrific...I cant wait to join you in losing. You are one of my inspirations. I like you am considered a light weight, which I sure don't feel like. 254 isn't much of a light weight. Especially at 5 foot 3 inches tall. Lol I was telling my husband that if I can lose 80 pounds by my birthday I will feel so much better and will be thrilled.
How is the new book tour going? Got ideas for another one in the works? How do you come up with the ideas to write about ? I think I would run out of new ideas after awhile. Hey that is neat that you take the time to check in with us daily. Drop us a line more often. We would love to hear about some of your experiences traveling. Im sure you have plenty. .
Everyone remember the support meeting in Springfield the 10th at 5:30 Hope to see all of you there .
LOVE ,JOY AND PEACE ABOUNDS.
JAN
Good morning Jan,
My 4th will be spent getting my tons of laundry done.....I have a little bit of house cleaning that needs to get done....Hopefully my pain will stay at a minimal and I can get some much needed stuff done around the house today....Little does my eight year old know but he will be helping me....
Went for my MRI yesterday, hopefully they will be able to get a little closer to what is causing all my muscle pain....I got on the scale day before yesterday and I am officially down to my pre baby weight, so now I have exactly pounds left to go until my goal...Time to crack down and get busy.....My only downfall right now is that I really can't exercise like I want to because of the pain....
Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th and as Jan said lets all remember why we celebrate our independence and be thankful for our many troops who help defend our freedom....
God bless to everyone....
Rachael
Happy Fourth of July Everyone!!
Jan the trip is a business trip. We have a booth at the SE NTA in Maryland. We sell our stuff we make there. So it is work but it is also fun as getting together with all those people is a good time. We also have to go to Cambridge MD to make a pick up. The product will cost me about 75 dollars but to have it shipped here would cost 4 to 5 hundred dollars. So I will pick it up while we are that close. As the SE NTA is only about 45 miles from Cambridge. And I already have a case of bottled water and some pre mixed protein drink and some protein bars and some other stuff ready to take with us, all I have to do is put it all in the ice chest. My DD got me a payday pro bar the other day it is a protein bar, I was kind of scared of it but it didn't bother me at all and I thought it tasted really good, a lot like a payday candy bar. Anyway I think they are good and kind of like a treat, I don't think they would be good for you if you ate them all the time but maybe once in a while.
Anyway I hope you all have a wonderful 4th and a great week. I guess I will post when I get home next week sometime. In the mean time you all take care of yourselves and each other. God Bless Each and Every One of You.

Goood Morning! Today, my mommy is 56....funny, this year she wanted a new chandelier from my Dad, and new bathroom accessories from me. You know, like the soap, lotion and toothbrush holder...in a fancy golden color.
We learned a long time ago, (((since my dad is colorblind)))) we don't do "Suprise gifts" LOL !!!
My how the summer is zooming by....
Hope everyone is having a wonderful and SAFE holiday!

Jan: I am feeling good a little sore I think I over did it yesterday in the pool. lol Getting old I guess ha ha. My mother is doing pretty good she still has 4 chemo treatments. But the Dr. told her last week when she went in for her appointment. That he would of never believed that she was the same lady that walked into his office over a month ago. She asked if that was a good or bad thing. And he stated VERY GOOD!!! I told my Mother to tell him "Thats the power of Prayer!!!!!" Yes, my F-I-L is very much a recluse. WE go over to his house at least once a week to clean and then every couple of weeks DH goes and mowes. DH has 2 other brothers 1 is prison and the other wont come over to help for NOTHING unless he needs to borrow money from Dad. Makes me so mad but that his business. I just try to be there for him and make sure he is taken care of as best as I can.
Sky: I hope and pray you have a safe trip. What is it that you make I wanna know. lol
Colette: Glad to see that you made it back safely from your vacation and that you enjoyed yourself.
Benny: I sure hope you have a good time @ your brothers house. Dont stay out in the sun too long.
Andrew: So glad you joined the MO board. If there is anything we can do please post. Dont be a stranger just into the conversation anytime.
Cathy: Your in my thoughts and prayers!!!!
Lovely Lana: Your as beatiful inside as you are outside!!!
Tracey: So glad to hear from you. And to know the book tour is going well.
Racheal: While your wading thro your laundry please make sure you take some time for YOU also!!! Your such a sweet gentle soul!!!
Sherr: What are your plans for today??
Love you all!!!
Let Freedom RING
Melissa
Happy 4th. Praise and thanks to the Lord Jesus for the wonderful country and freedom we enjoy.
Cant believe I did not get up till 9:00 am this morning. I never sleep that long so I must have been tired. Today is catch up day with some laundry and weeding. We finally got some rain this morning early. I did not hear it rain, but the ground is soaked. We are home till the 15th and then we will be gone for 10 days to Texas.
Just got a phone call from one of our members in church, and told us they are picking us 2 bags of sweet corn(feed sacks full). So I guess I know what I am doing this afternoon. Putting up sweet corn. We love sweet corn.Guess I can even eat a piece for supper. Yummy!!!!
Cant believe support group in Sedalia is tonight. (on the 4th). Not planning on being on the road traveling tonight. Too much traffic with people coming home from the lake etc.
Well, everyone - have a great day and stay safe. Glad to hear Melissas mom is doing better. And yes, I believe in the power of prayer. Colette
Jan thanks so much for the welcome, I only wish I had found this board a couple months ago and known about Dr. Hornbostel then, but I'm here now and headed up to Sedalia in a few mins, I so can't wait to get started and on my journey. It's really nice to meet all of you and am looking forward to getting to know others that are on the same journey.
Thanks Melissa for the welcome, I look forward to posting more.
Happy Forth to all!!!
Andrew
hey tell everyone that is at your meeting to start getting on this board. also tell them Hi for me . And if you want to bring up the subject about a weekend meeting somewhere. Probably around Bennett Springs or some place like that. That is close to the center of the state. If you could sort of get a idea if it would be something they would be interested in and would want to come to. Dont have to stay the week end but for the people that have to travel out of area they would like it someplace that has camping and cabins for the weekend. Jan
