HUMP DAY WHATS HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!
Well here it is the last Wednesday in this month. Sometimes it feels like the time is just flying by but then since I am waiting to have this surgery time is going at a dead crawl too. Which at my age isn't a bad thing. I can enjoy the day a little more. LOL
Yesterday was another wonderful day to enjoy but I'm afraid that it is going to start getting hot again. I wi**** could stay like it has been for these last two days. We did get to go to Lowe's yesterday after spending 3 hours in the mechanics shop getting new brakes put on. Also found out that we need a new exhaust system put on. Of course they don't do that there so have to find someone to do that. We would rather give the local shops our business than go all the way to Branson or Springfield to get things done.
Did get a new Steel front door for our house so now we will take the front door from our house and put it on the guest cottage, and take the front door of the guest cottage and put it on the back door of the guest cottage, musical doors. The only one that is bad is the one on the back door of the guest cottage. Lol
Going to start painting on the kitchen cabinets some this morning. I got all the doors off yesterday afternoon and then took all the hinges, drawer pulls, door knobs etc and put them into some metal cleaner to get them all spiffed up. I should have been a re-model contractor, I love this sort of work, taking old places and making them look new again. It is so much fun.
Elizabeth: I hope your surgery comes out great and you are up and running soon, without pain. Wont that be wonderful.
Hey your idea sounds great about a picnic. Why not make it centrally located in Missouri. The lake of the Ozarks is close to center, with lots of things going on and make it for a week end if anyone wants to stay that long. Especially the ones that would come from a long drive. Sort of a mini OH conference. If you want to start the ball rolling on something like that while you are laid up with your knee would be great with me. We could try to get flyers to every support group in the state so everyone would know about it. I would be glad to help you with this how ever. And I'm sure there would be a couple of others on here that would and could help you with planning it if you would like. It sounds like fun. Let me know
Linda: I ordered a medical alert necklace and a card to put in my wallet so they will see it if looking to see who I am. NG tube wouldn't hurt but it couldn't be done blind, would have to be done so they knew what where it was going, by x-ray or something. At least they would know they couldn't force large amounts of fluid into our stomachs lol
Linda I'm so sorry about you losing your daughter that really had to be hard. I can't imagine losing a child. I don't think any mother is ready to face that one.
Sherr: why did you change your name to Blonde123?
Not nice to confuse us old ladies, don't you know?
Glad to have you on board.
You can ramble as much as you want on here. That is how we get to know each other.
Nana Linda: So what color is your iris? Are they all one color? I have so many different ones that I don't know if I could choose just one color to say was my favorite one. Now I am getting a lot of the new marbled effect ones that are so fascinating. And some of the new ones I have are such unusual color combinations you wouldn't believe. One is orange and purple; another is brown striped and pink can you imagine. Someone has been having fun doing all of that.
Good luck with the grandbaby again.
Your trip to Mexico sounds like heaven. You will have to let us know where exactly and we might like to try it one of these days.
There seems to be a lot of newbies coming onto the board, which is great. Before long all of us that just had surgery or the ones that are having surgery in a month or so will be the post ops giving out advice and helping all you new ones to get thru where we are now. I will be so glad when August gets here, as I know will several others. I have 46 more days left. Just have to keep busy now to make the days go by faster.
Love, Joy and Peace Abounds

Jan...
Thanks for thinking of me ... today is my last day at work and I will be gone for 2 weeks (from work that is)... this time tomorrow I should be getting ready to head into surgery.
I think that it is a cool idea as well RE: WLS get together
I do believe that we will need it to be by someone affiliated with our board though to make things go smoothly... I don't know of anyone in the Lake of the Ozarks region. Having someone close by where it is located will make things easier in the planning dept. such as getting a park pavilion and setting up other things of that nature.
Lets bounce around some ideas of what folks would like and then we could go from there. Kind of like what types of things they would want to do. Biking, volleyball, trail walking, swimming? Stuff of that nature. Also we would want to make sure that most of the foods are WLS friendly as well but remind folks to bring stuff that their family members AND kids would eat....
This sounds like fun!!! Lets get the ball rolling on it..... Branson, Lake of the Ozarks, Springfield, Bennett Spring State Park? I'm just throwing out some ideas that are coming to mind....
Everyone have a GREAT day!
Elizabeth~

Hi Jan:
I worte you a while back and said that I would be In Missouri for a few weeks and would love to be able to come here and chat with some of you. I guess it is a bit presumptious of me without introducing myself so I will do that here.
My name is Melanie and I am an American living in Canada. We visit Missouri about 3 or 4 times a year for two or more weeks at a time. One day we plan on moving to Sedalia for retirement. We live in London Ontario and I had my wls surgery in Detroit Michigan about 20 months ago. To date I have lost 160 pounds and am feeling wonderful. I am one of the Moderators of the London weight loss support group and love to visit other groups to see how they are run.
I had some complications with surgery and you can read my profile if you or anyone else are interested.
It is good to be back in Sedalia and hopefully I will get to meet some of you while I am here. We are here until the 17th of July. In fact we are here every year on the 4th of July, it's kind of a tradition.
Anyway I hope you don't think I am out of place posting on the Missouri but this is kind of our home away from home. Love the people in this fine state.
Have a great Wednesday,
Jan,
Sorry so late but it has been a chasing day. To get protein, to Lowes, and to Walmart. And to wendys for supper. First time I ate a whole hamburger since last November before surgery. I ate the whole thing and it was delicious. As you can see from my post, my cp is slow and I get impatient and hit the button twice. Sorry to Melanie as I called her Ruthie too. LOL. Have a great day. Colette
