TUESDAY WHATS HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!
Wow it was so neat and nice yesterday. Was cool and breezy. And sleeping last night was great. We had the windows open and was a breeze and my sound machine was set on crickets. Wonderful . Even tho I probably didn't sleep any more than normal I enjoyed laying there feeling the niceness of it all.
Went yesterday and bought all the paint for the guest house, I couldn't believe how much I spent. 300 bucks. Can you believe that.
Need to go today and pick up the door I want for our house.
I made meatloaf for supper, my DH loves my meatloaf so he gets all excited when I make it. Lol
He went to bed early tonight , his back is really hurting him again. I will be glad when he goes back to have his other shot maybe it will last a little longer this time.
Sky: thanks for the advice about getting out and walking around. I have to do that now when we ride more than about an hour and a half and I have to move or my RLS kicks in and I get miserable.
DH said he had the whole thing under control about my being able to get into our truck after surgery on the way home. We have a 4x4 Ford 150 it is tall for me to get in now. He is going to take the little step ladder with us so I can just walk into the truck lol
Lana: I guess we could go to the fair the night before surgery ...but I don't think we will . Will see.
Sounds like you are going to have a good weekend next weekend anyway.
Brenda: maybe we should say something to them about reserving rooms close and they could just hold them until early unless they called and said it was for a patient that would be in. I know about the time I have 47 days now. Wow.
Linda S. how wonderful about your brother. Prayer does do wonders. I believe. Hey I was going to ask do they recommend that all wls patients wear medical alert bracelets?I guess it would be bad if they tried to put down an ng tube on us lol.
Sherr: Good to see you back online. As we have surgery im sure all of us will be able to give you their take on it . And how they feel. And what all.
Nana Linda. That is great that you finally got the insurance company to admit that they were wrong. That usually doesn't happen.
Lord a 16 month old. How in the world do you have strength to type. LOL
Rachael: I hope the new meds help with your pain, and that you find the problem before long. I know about a constant pain and what it can do to your mind. Very depressing. Take care of your self and know that you are in our prayers.
Melissa: So sorry you had to take your one nephew home. How is his tooth ache now since you took him home? How is the baby boy you have with you doing? Miss you when you are gone.
Carol : good to see you posting to the boards once in a while now. How are your two new fur babies?
Elizabeth: Know that you will be in my prayers Thursday morning during surgery. I know your surgeon is suppose to be excellent. Get well soon and hope the pain will soon be a thing of the past.
Love and Joe and Peace Abounds. Jan
Well I'm up...kitties fed, coffee made, oatmeal eaten. All that is left is taking care of Finn, but he isn't awake yet. (bear in mind you do NOT wake a sleeping lizard).
I think that it would be a very good idea for WLS surgeons in general to have arrangements with a local motel to have a standing agreement so that their patients could benefit from having a place to stay during surgery and/or treatment. Even if it was only on space availability... but at a special rate due to medical necessity.
I know that Mike and I are trying to find a room that is reasonable AND clean/comfortable so we can go up the night before my surgery. We have checked into several so far but are still looking. Hopefully Mike will be able to find one today while I am at work.
Jan sounds like you are just a hive of industry at getting that little place fixed up. I'm sure that it is going to sparkle when you are done with it!...
Rachael.... I sure hope that they figure out what is going on with you... have they looked into the neuralgia that is sometimes linked with WLS? Have you gotten your labs drawn lately? If so, is everything in normal limits? Protein levels, B 12?
I also have an idea that I would like to toss out and see if folks are interested. How would everyone like to have a WLS Missouri get together? If it is done on a weekend it would have to be one of mine that I am not working at the bank. I have to work every other Saturday til noon. We could either have a potluck style picnic or even meet at a restaurant... although I think the picnic would be more fun!.... I would sure love to get to see all of you... we would have to pick a place that is centrally located and one that has excellent access and amenities ... I would love to have families included. Just think of all of the fun we could have! Playing soccer, volleyball, etc. Card games, visiting, music......
Let me know what you guys think!
Everyone have a great day....
Elizabeth~
T MINUS 48 HRS. TIL SURGERY!!! YAHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Jan, I have read several places on the internet that recommended WLS patients get medical alert bracelets, but Dr. H didn't say anything about it. Then when I discovered that they had them on OH at the store, I decided it might not be a bad idea. I have seen some on other WLS post-ops and really don't want to be unconscious and someone cram an NG tube down my throat! I figure it's better to be safe than sorry!
Elizabeth, good luck and God's blessings on your surgery. I'll keep you in my prayers. I think the picnic sounds great. If we do it someplace near a state park, my husband and I will come and bring the motorhome and stay for the weekend--we're always looking for someplace to camp! LOL
Melissa, I remember when I was young and wanted to chase after youngun's. That was sure fun. We were foster parents for 5 years and had 29 children come through out home--from 3 days old to 17 years. We had a son and 6 foster children most of the time. Our son enjoyed the experience. We ended up adopting our daughter when she was 2 years old. She was 6 months old when we got her as a foster child. Unfortunately, at age 10 she was diagnosed with Lymphoma and then she died when she was 16. I think about her everyday and miss her terribly! I took a leave of absence from work back then and stayed home and took care of her up until she died. We became very close during that period. Enjoy those youngun's as much as you can. They are so very precious--one of God's most special gifts to us!
Have a great day all and God's richest blessing to everyone...
Linda
Hello Missourians:
Good morning. The posts you guys make are always profound...and yet I come here with only hugs and waves.
Rachel: The pain in your head, have you had it before? Is it on a particular side or area? I am nooooo expert...I have had migraines my whole life, and in 1998 I started blacking out and blood began to come out of my nose all the time.
(3) biopsies and (1) major surgery later (1999) they determined it was not cancerous, but it was a tumor. That was a baaad scary time for me, I was 30 and kept getting mixed diagnosis. At one point they told me it WAS cancer :-o So I am lucky it ended up NOT being.
That was the year I started steroids, and took them on and off for 5 years....That was also the year that I began to gain weight. I had been thin my whole life, and after surgery my body and my face has never looked like the person I know as SHERR.
Sorry to ramble...LOL...PLEASE let us know asap what they say at the doctors!
I hope the rest of you guys are doing Great and having a fantastic Tuesday!!
Sherr
Jan,
My granddaughter will be here tomorrow evening again. My husband is the super Grandpa. He loves having her around, and he picks her up from daycare on Wednesdays, so we can have a play date.
Thanks for the Iris info. I will have to get to this after my vacation. I don't think I can get it done before. I love the color of my Iris, but I didn't get many blooms this year. I am hoping it is because they are all crammed together. I have had them for about 5 years, and I haven't ever thinned them.
I was so happy when the insurance company admitted they messed up. Unfortunately, the attorney failed to mention I need one more piece of information. So, this morning I was on the phone to the nice man at the insurance company again. I hope this is really and truly over soon. When I talked to my mom tonight, I didn't tell her we need one more piece of info from the insurance company. She worries so much about this stuff, and it just isn't worth it.
What a lovely day it was again in MO!! I am so looking forward to our trip to New Mexico. In the mountains, the high is about 80, and the low is about 45--my idea of ideal summer weather.
Linda
