PreOp Appt. questions!!!!!!!!!

If anyone has been to Dr. Hornbostel for WLS. Could you tell me what all they do on your preop appt?....Like what are the test they do and what for?........Thanks I would appreciate it.........Craig Lee

Dear Craig, They mostly do basic lab work, ekg, chest x-ray. You see the anesthesiologist and dietician and a physical therapist. Hope this helps you. Congratulations on your surgery. I will keep you in my prayers. Carol

yes that is what all i was told they do too. They say it take almost all day and to be sure and take you something for lunch. your time in between things is not long enough to go out and get something i dont think but the time all day is long enough that you might need something to eat. Hopefully they do the lab work first. I will have to pack something for Joe to eat too since he will be with me. may just pack some protein bars Oh wow it is getting closer and closer. I have 49 days left. Im not counting the 14th as that is when i will be there. lol anything to make it seem closer. wow 49 days left can you believe it???? you only have what 28 more days. ? How are you doing on your diet? are you able to stay on it? just eat lots of protein and your blood sugar levels should stay right. Jan

Yep that's about it Craig. They take you in a room and do most of it right there in that room. It is a very big chair they have you sit in and it lays back for the heart test. The only thing they didn't do in that room was the x-rays. But make sure you bring something to eat and maybe even something to drink as it does take a very very long time. I know I wish I would have taken something with me. I was so hungry when I got out of there I cheated on my diet and had a whopper jr. None of the test are hard or anything and you will be ok. When is your surgery date again? If I am not out of state would it be ok with you if I come and visit you when you are in the hospital? I would love to meet you.
