Dr. Roger de la Torre patients please read
Has anybody personally or know of anyone who was scheduled for surgery with Dr. de la Torre and have him not do it because they didn't reach their weight goal he set. I'm suppose to be at 375 by surgery date of 7/5 (started at 416 on 5/22) but so far I'm only down 26 punds and need to go 15 more in 14 days. Do you think he will postpone my date?

I didnt have Dr. De la Torre but I had his associate Dr. Scott. I cant say for sure what he will do but I know Dr. Scott wanted me to lose xx amount of weight. Just to show him that I was trying to lose weight and that I would do what was needed for after the surgery. Good luck at your meeting tonight. I pray you get the answer to your question there. Please let me know what you find out.
God Bless
Melissa
You might want to call his office and ask the nurses. Sometimes the weight requirements are based on the operating room equipment, not a surgeon's preferance. However, I've also heard that some surgeons out there refuse to perform surgery above X amount of weight because they feel that it's much riskier and therefore may affect their statistics. Still, there are surgeons out there who want you to lose X amount of weight for the sole reason of shrinking your liver. So to answer your question...I have NO IDEA! Give the office a call...you don't even have to give your name!
Cheers!
