New Here........
Just now beginning the journey to a new me!
I am Robyn, married, age 32. From St Louis, MO. Mom to my four year old twin daughters, Maddy and Ally.
Hoping to gain some more information and support as i decide how to go about my journey.
I currently weigh in at 350. Hoping to get the LAP Band done, it seems to have the best recovery time, and with two preschoolers, thats the important thing here.
Hope that I can hop on in here and join the crowd!

Robyn...
Welcome to the board. Make sure that you investigate ALL aspects of WLS before you decide on what is going to be the best fit overall for you and your lifestyle.
I started out leaning towards Banding but ended up with Lap RNY. I only had two weeks total off due to my work schedule.
Not only was I back at work with no problems, I could of gone back after 1 week.
Personally I am glad that I ended up with RNY over banding. It is a better fit for me...
Best wishes...
Elizabeth~
welcome Robyn to the mo. board. I am pre-op so I cant give you any advice one way or the other about much. I have chosen the RNY for myself because at 65 I only have one time to get this right and Im afraid that the lapband wont do it for me. But that is my thinking not yours.
There are lots of people on this site and others who can give you lots of informataion so what ever you are wanting to ask do so knowing that someone will give you an answer. Jan

Welcome to the board Robyn
All I can say is study study study. Know what you are getting into before you jump. I am one week post-op from what was supposed to be a RNY. I had a few changes in my surgery but I am doing great. I went to see the dr. yesterday and he said I am doing great. I have lost 26 lbs since my last Dr. visit. I know a least 10 lbs of that has been this last week. Life is great. Take care and God Bless You.

Thank you!
Benny, you sound like you are having a rough time, pre-op. Whats the matter? Just doubting yourself? I do that all the time.......sigh...........
Jan, thanks....I have considered the RNY too, my biggest problem is recovery time. With the two little ones, I cannot be laid up for too long. I simply do not have the support system to deal with the girls for me..........sigh again.
Sky............wow, it sounds like you are doing GREAT post-op. What else did they do during your RNY?? Did they have to take out your gallbladder? You said they made some changes, I was just curious. From what I read, sometimes that has to come out during the surgery............anyway, you don't have to be specific if you don't want, I am just so curious about everything right now........lol.
I have an appt with my general doctor this morning, first time i have been to ANY doctor in the four years since my kids were born
