I haven't posted on here for a long time because I thought I wouldn't be able to have surgery, but I have a question. Does anyone know if you have bi-polar if you can still have the surgery? I am not sure if that would rule me out if I do have bi-polar when I have my psych eval. Just curious to see if I should continue trying to have WLS. Thanks in advance! Dawn Wilson

Dawn, That should have no bearing on surgery as long as you keep taking your meds. One of my friends at last count, had surgery and has lost 100 pounds. But be sure to mention this to your doctor. Have a great day girl!! Colette

It shouldnt have any effect one way or the other I would think. My daughter in is bi-polar and she had the surgery. She has lost over 200 pounds so far . And said she is happier than she has been in a long time. Jan
