pacemaker surgery

I go Tuesday morning to have a dual chamber pacemaker put in at Skaggs here in Branson. My heart doc thinks it will help me and I hope it does. It would be nice to have a little more energy and not get so tired so quickly. Wish me luck. This should be an easy surgery as they just give you a local and versed . An online friend who had this pacemaker put in a month ago said it is helping him. He said it helps him get rid of all the water we retain as heart patients. That sure would be nice as I can easily gain 5 pounds overnight. I know it is jus****er but it is discouraging to see the scale go up for any reason. My friend lost 20 pounds of extra water in two days.

Heres praying for you David. I hope the surgery goes well with out any problems and you are feeling well enough to come to the support meeting on the next monday. Yes the pace maker usually helps with the water gain I dont know why or how but I have had a lot of patients over the years when I was nursing that had them put in and it always seemed to help them. And certainly helped with their energy levels. Will be thinking about you Tomorrow morning. Take care. and let us know as soon as you can how you are doing. OK? Jan
