Great news! I have my first step on 6/6. It's a meeting with a surgeon at a seminar. It's through St. Alexius NewStart. Anyone heard of it?

Hi Becky! I saw this post so had to comment. I am going threw the same program. So far it has gone rather smoothly. My only hang up wasnt them or my insurance its been my own doc given the okay because of my bp. But they are wonderful there. Look in your benefits booklet and go straight to the exclusions pages. I was very excited about getting United Healthcare until I found that my plan very specifically excludes any surgical and or nonsurgical weightloss treatment for obesity including morbid obesity. I am basically stuck. I hope you plan does not have an exclusion. Good luck and welcome. Dannielle

Hi Becky , I have been a member for a few months but never posted before , but when I saw that you has U H C insurance I just wanted to let you know that I used to be covered by UHC , my insurance did have exclusion, but I think it was because I work for the state and from what I understand it all depends on the carrier. I think it's wise that you talk to your HR. Good luck
