Hello! My name is Becky. I'm a 32-year-old mom in Barnhart, MO. (Jefferson County) I have been doing a lot of research on WLS. The stories you have posted are amazing. I weigh 240, my highest ever. I have been looking into this surgery for awhile now and finally decided to take make the move. My new insurance (United Health Care) starts on July 1st. I will schedule my first appointment then. :-) I look forward to chating with all of you.

welcome and good luck with your journey. It is quite a quest. For most people there are a lot of loop holes and hurdles that have to be gotten over and thru but it will be worth it in the end. ...Jan

Becky, Hello for my end of the world in Concordia, Mo. I weighed in at 237 the morning of my surgery. I am just a tiny bit older than you. ( 3 times your age plus) But I still wanted the surgery. Good luck on getting it all in order. Colette

Colette, you crack me up! I was thinking "WOW" she's in her late 90's!!! I was orginally shocked at the age you had weight loss surgery, but also that you even were online!

Hey Becky, welcome and I hope you have a wonderful Journey. I am just starting my journey and my new insurance starts July 1 also. I am trying to start early so that by the time July 1 rolls around, I will be more than ready to go. Ms. Butterfly

Welcome Becky. My wife and I had united healthcare when we had our surgeries and they paid pretty good. Just be sure your policy does not have an exclusion against wls. They are pretty wls friendly. Good luck on your journey and us old timers will be glad to answer any questions you have. I am over two and a half years post op.

Becky, Best of luck! I had my DS 6 months ago and have lost 95 lbs.!! I hope your insurance approval is quick and painless and you are on the losing side soon. Terri

Hi everyone! What great stories all of you have. I'm amazed with your results. I am going to be spending time on the phone today to arrage dates with doctors. David, I just got back from Branson two days ago. We went for a long weekend. How much fun to live there!
