Who has to get a psych eval? It is something that the insurance wants or is it something Dr. H wants? Are there any other kinds of tests that are needed? Thanks for the info. Linda

Im not sure who wants it? Do you have Medicare? maybe that is who wants it. That is the only one he said I had to do before a consult with him and then the pre ops that you have to do all in one day about a week or two before surgery. Jan

No, I'm not Medicare--I'm self-pay. Maybe that's the difference. I guess I'll just have to wait until next Wednesday and see. Thanks for the info. Linda

Linda My doctor was the one that ordered it. I believe that it is something you have to go thro weither you have insurance or not. Because usually (now mind you this is doctors thinking) when you are over weight they wanna make sure it isnt something emotional. Something maybe from the past that has caused you to put on this extra weight. I guess that they have never heard of a sane person that was lazy and just liked to eat. lol Not saying that anyone is insane her besides Wayne & Craig!!! I hope this helps you at a little. Please let us know how you are doing. The Psyic Evel was very painless!! Take Care Melissa

Linda Melissa is right ..But I was also told . t hey want to know if your able to handle the aftermath of the surgery..If you're strong enough mentally to handle the regiment and all....The doctor who gave me the eval. told me that it was needed for that because if you're not stable mentally that sometime after surgery a person could come back and sue the doctor for anything....Lots of people cannot handle the events after surgery and some don't get evaluated properly and they wind up with many issues.......Craig Lee....................P.S. HAHAHAH Melissa.....
