I use to be on Spiriva HandiHaler for my C.O.P.D. But no longer use it after surgery. I have 3 boxes that have never been used. If there is anyone that uses this I would gladly ship it to them. I just hate to throw it out as it cost an arm and a leg. Please drop me a email if you can use it or know of someone that does. God Bless Melissa

that is absolutily wonderful. and it has only been a month, just think of what you will be able to do in 3 months, 6 months etc. Do you feel like you have lost any weight? I just can barely wait to get my surgery date. I did email Dena today to see if I had a least been approved for surgery by medicare yet. I havent heard back from her yet but she will answer im sure. Jan I know I am so excited. My personal goal for 3 months is 100 lbs. Last time I steped on the scale was last Friday and at that time I had lost 31lbs since surgery. Yes at times I can tell I have lost. Expecially around my face and shoulder area. Of course DH says no he can feel my knuckles when I slug him when were playing. ha ha ha That will teach him. My ring is getting lose and so is my cancer braclet. I have noticed that with a couple pair of my shorts I dont break out in a sweat trying to do the wiggle dance trying to get them on. I know if I didnt have this HUGE hernia sticking out of my tummy. I would proabley be in a smaller size then what I am in now. But that will be somthing I take care of later this year. I cant wait until you get your approval and surgery date. Where will yu be having your surgery at?? Your in my thoughts and prayers. Love ya Melissa

that will be so neat for you to get that trach out wont it Craig? I cant imagine having to deal with that all the time. It will be so neat to watch both of you improve in your health. Melissa the hernia, you had it before you did the weight loss surgery? Wonder why they didnt fix it for you then. Im having surgery at Sedalia with Dr. Hornbostel. hopefully anyway. Jan

Jan Because at the weight I am now it would put unnessary pull on my incesion which could cause another one. Plus he didnt want to keep me out for that long to do my VGS and hernia repair. But I believe that around Nov or Dec if that long we can talk about getting it repaired. Yea!!!! You can see it in my photos that I have on my profile. I hate it so bad. This is my 6th hernia in the same area. Melissa

were the hernias cause then by the weight? Yeah i can see that is why he wouldnt want to do it. You poor little thing . Is it painful? Will pray that the doctor is able to do it soon. What is a VGS. How is it different than banding or gastric bypass? Jan

Jan No it doesnt hurt at all. Unless I am laying flat and I sneeze. DH says if I strain my stomach muscles it look like an alien coming out of my stomach. As far as did the weight cause the hernia no not necessarly but it sure didnt help it. I got one when I was approx 20 yrs old. And they say since I have had one I am very prone to get them to reaccure. Plus I was always lifting things a women shouldnt never be lifting on. VGS is a vertical gastric sleeve. If you go to forums here on OH.com you will see one title that says Surgery Types in there you will see VGS it give you alot of information on the type of surgery I had. Kind of like the RNY but they didnt do anything with my intestines (no rerouteing). Usually they do the VGS on people who have a higher BMI when I started mine was 85.5 now it is a 68.3 accourding to my last weigh in on the 12th. I wont weight again until I leave on tuesday to go see Doc. So I am nervious and excited all rolled into one. lol I hope this helps answer your question. Love ya Melissa
