Wanna Hear a Good One!?!

Yesterday I get an Explanation of Benefits letter from my insurance company. It says that they are paying NONE of my surgery bills!!!!! Needless to say, I completely freaked. I can not afford to pay a $24,000+ bill! Besides, I never would have had the surgery except for the fact that they approved the surgery. Well today I called the financial lady at St. Alexius and she told me not to worry (but man is that hard to do). She says that they have the approval and she will force the insurance company to stand behind it. Please keep me in your prayers that this all works out because like I said before there is no way I could even begin to pay that bill. Deanna

well since you are losing weight now guess you can go to work for the hospital and pay them off that way. lol. That is a good one . Did they say you were not approved or just that they wouldnt pay for the surgery or what? I would be freaking out too. No way because if the hospital has the letter from them that says you were approved then they will fight over that dont worry your head about it. How are you doing in the weight loss dept? You havent been on a lot was wondering about you the other day. Jan

Deanna I would let the hospital work it out with your insurance company. And prayers are sent for you. You don't need to be stressing too much so just give it to Jesus and let the hospital take care of it. Sky

Deanna..Tell you what...I wouldnt worry about ...One thing....if Lady from St.Alexius told you that they have the proof of approval..By law they do have to pay...OR they can be sued...and I really dont think they would want that..Besides Iam sure the Hospital isnt that mean enough to make you pay after they too were told about the approval..Iam sure they hospital will go to bat for you and take care of it...Craig Lee P.S.. Thanks for all your support. I'm trying not to worry, I mean after all even if they were to try and get the money from me basically they would be out of luck. They can't garnish my disability money from social security and I own absolutely nothing. So basically I have nothing. I'm sure the hospital will straighten it all out. As for an update, I have been doing real good. I can only weigh at the doctor's office so I don't know exact numbers of weight loss but I have been fitting into clothes I haven't worn in a long time. Every one tells me they can tell I am losing. I'm able to get around a lot easier and have been doing a lot more. I go back for my three month check up on the 27th of June. I was down 30 pounds at one month so I can only wait and see where I am at 3 months. Deanna
