Home and feeling pretty good!

Hi friends. I am home, tired, but feeling pretty good considering. It's the muscle repair that's the most painful, not having been cut all the way around. Plus they did find I had a hernia at the top of my RNY incision, and they repaired that. Just wanted to say I am home and in good spirits so far, taking the pain meds every 4 hrs! SO that's no doubt why I feel good! : ) Thanks for the well wishes and prayers!!!! You're all wonderful!!!!! Can't wait to see the results myself....my surgeon's asst was soooooo excited when she came to see me before I went home. This was her 1st circumferencial and she could NOT believe what a difference it made....hearing her talk about it got ME all excited too! She said I am goign to LOVE it. They got even more skin than they thought they would, but they didn't weigh it or take pics(bummer). I'm taking the binder off tonight (I think!) to shower, if I don't chicken out. Then it has to go right back on though. Incase you don't know what it is...it goes from my bra down to 2 inches above my knees and has no crotch!! (So I can potty without removing it.) Tami (Tamara)

Tami, Congratulations! I thought of you all day on your Reward Surgery day this week. I know this has been something you wanted and fought for. You deserve this so I know you'll enjoy it today and when you "unwrap" the gift to see the exciting results. Thanks ladies! Well I unwrapped to shower this evening and I am very puffy so it's hard to tell what it'll look like but so far so good. I got a bit ill during the shower and changing of the dressings, my pain meds were overdue and I was trying to tough it out so I wouldn't be groggy in the shower. Feeling better now though. Congrats on the surgery Tami. Glad to hear they were able to repair the hernia while they were in there. Hopefully the pain will get better soon but untill it does keep up with those pain meds. You are doing So great you are an inspiration to those of us coming after. Wayne

Hey Kelli and Wayne! Thanks and I AM taking my meds....hopefully I can stretch them out longer pretty soon, buty as long as I need them I will use them. I'm not afraid! lol Still hanging in there today but I telly athis swelling is way more than I expected, especially in the "privates"!! It's a bit scary to see it! I won't gross you out with teh details but ya just don't hear this part from others so much. I'm warnign everyone, cause I don't feel I was warned enough! My sleep cycle is screwed up so here it is after 1am and I think I'll go to bed now! Tami
